Tristan spent 246 days in hospital and is now giving back by running for a reason

Tristan Jones spent 246 days in hospital after become septic after being diagnosed with pancreatitis, which made her body septic. She credits the "incredible surgical team and nurses" at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for helping her through the challenging ordeal.

This year she is running for a reason, raising funds for Charlie's Foundation - which supports medical research at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Speaking with Chrissy Morrissy on 6PR Weekends, Jones said Charlie's staff are "just incredible".

"I was in ICU for over a hundred (days)... And I think I was in a coma for quite a few of those days. The nurses and doctors at that place are just incredible," she said.

Jones credits her survival to the hospital staff.

"I was very lucky. I think it was absolutely because of the care I got from Charlies," she told 6PR listeners.

Her and her "Charlie's Angels" walked the 3km HBF Run for a Reason, on Sunday morning.
