The defending champions, the Crusaders are kicking off their Super Rugby title defence on Friday with a clash against the Highlanders in Dunedin.
It’s a contrast to this time last year, as they were entering the season having missed the playoffs.
Head Coach Rob Penney joined Piney ahead of the season to discuss the emotional shift from last season to now, and why it took him so long to commit to another season.
“I took time because I just wanted to make sure that it was the right thing for everybody,” he told Piney.

“It’s a real privilege and honour to turn up every day and I’m fortunate to be given another year.”
