Professor Thumbi Ndung'u is the Scientific Director of the HIV Pathogenesis Programme and a Professor in HIV/TB Research at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. He is the Director for Basic and Translational Science at the Africa Health Research Institute (AHRI), a Professor of Infectious Diseases at University College London. He is the Programme Director of the Sub-Saharan African Network for TB/HIV Research Excellence (SANTHE), a research and capacity building initiative.
