Gugs Mhlungu speaks to Puno Selesho, SA writer, poet and author, about her book in collaboration with Lil-lets, aimed at educating young children about menstruation in an age-appropriate and relatable way. They discuss the importance of helping girls understand that menstruation is a normal part of life, while also encouraging boys to learn about the female body. Through relatable characters representing both girls and boys, the book aims to break the stigma around periods and create space for more open, inclusive conversations.
