Greg and Phil talk with Jenni Davis of the Peoria Public Library about recent library updates and the 25th anniversary of Peoria Reads, a communitywide reading initiative that brings people together through books, conversations and shared experiences. This year's featured novel is Warrior Girl Unearthed by Angeline Boulley, a young adult mystery that explores Indigenous history, cultural identity and the importance of protecting ancestral heritage. She discusses the book, how readers can find a copy or listen to the audiobook, and the importance of encouraging the community to read together. She also previews the free Peoria Reads Block Party, happening Saturday, October 10 from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. at Columbia Park, next to the McClure Branch.
