Greg and Phil talk with Dr. Channing Smith Petrak, Medical Director of the Pediatric Resource Center, about the organization’s mission to provide specialized, child-centered medical care and social services to children when there are concerns of abuse or neglect. She explains how potential cases of neglect come to the organization’s attention, some of the circumstances that can contribute to neglect, and the specialized training staff undergo to properly evaluate and support children and families. She also previews the PRC’s annual Hope Fundraiser on Saturday, October 17 from 6–10 p.m., which raises money to help provide specialized medical services for children who may have experienced abuse or neglect.
