Greg and Phil talk with Dan Heinz and Bobby Spears, opponents of the proposed Four Creeks Wind Project in Peoria County, about their concerns surrounding the development of a large-scale wind farm in the northwestern part of the county. The project, proposed by Repsol Renewables, could include up to 113 wind turbines across more than 27,000 acres. They explain why they oppose the project, how their efforts to organize community opposition have progressed, and why they believe residents' concerns deserve greater consideration. They also discuss the pressure surrounding local labor unions and the potential jobs associated with the project, Bobby's longtime involvement in the issue, and their personal thoughts on how the development could affect the community. The two also preview the Peoria County Zoning Board of Appeals hearing on Wednesday, October 14, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Holiday Inn & Suites Peoria at Grand Prairie, where closing arguments and deliberations on the proposed project are scheduled to take place.
