She explains how potential cases of neglect come to the organization’s attention, some of the circumstances that can contribute to neglect, and the specialized training staff undergo to properly evaluate and support children and families. She also previews the PRC’s annual Hope Fundraiser on Saturday, October 17 from 6–10 p.m., which raises money to help provide specialized medical services for children who may have experienced abuse or neglect.

The Historic Springdale Cemetery Tours return for the next two weekends, using costumed portrayals of notable people buried at Springdale to bring different eras of Peoria’s history to life. He also highlights a special All Souls Day yoga event planned for November 1, offering another way for visitors to experience the peaceful grounds, and the Screaming Pumpkin on Saturday, October 24, a nighttime running and walking event through Springdale featuring distances ranging from two miles to a full marathon.
