The Providence Flea is not a traditional flea market, it's a marketplace, with hand-picked, homemade, handcrafted and small batch wares that you can attend for FREE!. Maria Tocco, Founder and Market Manager joins us to encourage Rhode Islanders to "buy local" and support their friends and neighbors who are vending at the Flea. Maria details how, over the last twelve seasons, they've hosted 3000+ local vintage vendors, some of the area's most creative artists, artisans and makers, community non-profits, food trucks and carts, and live musicians. For the winter market, on a Sunday, you can walk the market for eclectic offerings, or sit and relax with a hot beverage. Come time for the summer market, they kick it up a notch with the beer garden for a cold beverage. They welcome local community non-profits with any mission related to the environment, arts, youth, LGBT issues or animal welfare. They also invite local musicians to play the boardwalk unplugged for our engaging, generous and appreciative patrons. Listen as Maria entertains us with the fun happenings of April's "Halfway to Halloween" market, and coming up in May, the "Mother's Day" market.
