We welcome Robert "Lou" Allard, Urban and Community Forestry Program Coordinator for the RI Department of Environmental Management to the program. He joins Scott ahead of two relevant dates, Earth Day (4/22) and Arbor Day (4/26) celebrating our lush, however endangered, environment and especially trees! RI DEM in partnership with The Rhode Island Nursery and Landscape Association, and the Arbor Day Foundation, kicked off the bi-annual energy saving tree program to an eager community, offering free trees, "right tree, right place". He explains how the Inflation Reduction Act has spawned a new nationwide program "Comprehensive Technical Assistance Grant Program" for communities with insufficient tree equity.
