WCCO 100 Days - 1997 Red River Flood

In 1981, an era of Minnesota sports came to a close when the Vikings wrapped up their season at Met Stadium. WCCO brought you the final game at "The Met" after 25 years as the home of the Vikings and Twins before moving to the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome. The Met was eventually torn down and the Mall of America built on the site.

In 2002, just 10 days prior to the Election, Minnesota DFL Senator Paul Wellstone, his Sheila, daughter Marcia, and four others were killed in a plane crash in northern Minnesota. WCCO brought Minnesotans another tragic, memorable day in the 100 year history of the station.
