Bob Fourniadis - AHEPA Service Dogs for Wounded Warriors

View descriptionShare

Foxx and Annie chatted today with Bob Fourniadis, one of the founding members of AHEPA Chapter 517, about an awesome upcoming Cigar event that will help benefit their many different causes!

One of the causes taken on by AHEPA is providing service dogs to wounded warriors. “We started through one of our members who is a disabled American vet,” Fourniadis explained.

“We became aware of the sad and tragic statistic of 22 veterans committing suicide every day in the United States on average. And through the organization that he belongs to, we also [found] out that one of the best treatments for that was service dogs,” he continued.

After Chapter 517 did their research, they began the sponsorship process by teaming up with K9s for Warriors based in Florida, which trains service dogs. Eight years later, AHEPA: Service Dogs for Warriors has raised $1.5 million and sponsored 160 service dogs.

We’ve got to do all we can to get involved! An incredible event is fast approaching, which will have cigars, cigar rollers, various food stations, an open bar, and more, held at The Grand Marquis in Old Bridge, NJ on May 8.

AHEPA is the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association. The association’s mission is to promote the ancient Hellenic ideals of civic responsibility, education, philanthropy, and individual and family excellence through community service and volunteerism.
