With the July 4th weekend upon us, many New Yorkers and visitors will be heading to the waterfront to enjoy the fireworks and other festivities. With 520 miles of shoreline, Mayor Bloomberg would often refer to the waterfront as the sixth borough.

Over the last 20 years, we've seen an incredible transformation along the waterfront. Governors Island is one of the best examples.
