RP: Sure languages have come and gone over the course of history but that process has really accelerated with the spread of few large language especially now coming from nation states and it's coming from education systems and 24 hour media 

SA: Perlin's book Language City chronicles the linguistic history of New York through the endangered langauge alliance he works to record, document, and preserve mother tongues. 

RP: Creating dictionaries and grammars and archiving and recording the stories and songs of now well over a hundred languages

SA: Including the original language of the city Lenapi. Manhattan is a Native American word 

RP: What the word meant was the place where we get bows, as in bows and arrows
