For 16 years, Dawn Kelly worked as a vice president of global communications for a financial service company until her job was eliminated. Without prior food business experience, Dawn took the giant leap into small business ownership, opening up Nourish Spot in Jamaica, Queens, where she provides cold-pressed juices, salads, wraps, smoothies, hearty soups, and much more.

And her public relations background has come in handy. Her use of social media has been a powerful tool in growing her business in the community she serves. Dawn has now opened a new location on Malcolm X Boulevard in Brooklyn. Dawn is an inspiring example of the entrepreneurial spirit that we see in our city.
