At the beginning of March, 89.1 WBOI partnered with Indiana Legal Services and other organizations for a virtual event about rental assistance programs and information on renter rights through an eviction. The goal was for participants to find out if they qualify for assistance, how to apply, and share questions.

We’ll hear from Mario Baldassari, an assistant professor of psychology at the University of Saint Francis, on the family tree of psychology research, the gap between solved crimes and what is reported, and how interrogation can impact witness testimony.

In years past, we’ve brought you panel discussions from the Allen County Bar Association and the Allen County Bar Foundation. This week, we are going to hear voices from an event recorded last week called “An Uncomfortable Conversation on Race.”

The show features three distinct elements in the time we have. First we will hear poetry by Elizabeth Alexander read by Jasmine Barnes, a junior at Homestead High School. Then we’ll hear from Gina Forrest, chief culture officer at Aspire Indiana Health. The final part of our program will be a panel discussion moderated by Patti Hays, CEO of AWS Foundation and co-founder of Advancing Voices of Women. The three panelists are Marlon Wardlow, senior vice president of equity and inclusion at Parkview Health,  Nikki Quintana, executive director of the Fort Wayne Metropolitan Human Relations Commission, and Rick Hawks, pastor at The Chapel.

He’s worked as a writer and poet for ten years and in this lecture from the Humanities Symposium, he’ll speak about poetry, video games, and the branching pathways of how we navigate media in our lives.
