This week we listen back on a spacial interview with two incredible musicians and water activists Nancy Bates and Aimee Volkovksy who have collaborated on a beautiful new song Blood Red Moon.
Barkiindji/Wilyakali song writer Nancy Bates is a highly accomplished musician who has toured internationally and spent three years on the road with Uncle Archie Roach as a backing vocalist, guitarist and support act. Nancy’s collaborator, Aimee Volkovksy is a journalist, filmmaker and songwriter based in Broken Hill and leads an incredible project called Boneyard sessions that records and films musicians performing out on country in the natural environment.
They both grew up on the Darling-Baaka River and their recent collaboration is a call to return to country and was written when water first returned to the Baaka at the end of the previous drought.
