The West Australian government will soon decide on water allocations in the Fitzroy Valley catchment.
A number of cattle stations in the region, including Gogo, Liveringa and Fossil Downs want to extract billions more litres of water from the Margaret and Martuwarra Fitzroy Rivers for cropping.
Negotiations are ongoing between the cattle stations and the various local Traditional Owner groups, along with representatives from the State Government.
Wangki Radio producer Fernando de Freitas sat down with Phil Hams, who came up from NSW 16 years ago to run the station on behalf of the Harris Family. They discuss Gogo’s plans and how negotiations are going.
