Danny Burke reacts to the Panthers stunning the Bruins in Boston in game 7, finishing one of the greatest upsets in Stanley Cup Playoffs history. The Kraken also dethrone the defending champs, beating the Avs in Colorado. Nick Alberga joins the pod to talk about the Maple Leafs finally winning a playoff series. They also preview tonight's Rangers/Devils game 7.
This is the Vson Hockey Betting Podcast with Vson's Hockey betting analyst Andy McNeil. Here is Danny Burke. Welcome in to the start of another edition of Vson's Hockey Betting Podcast. I am Danny Burke, your host. No Andy McNeil today. He will be back tomorrow. He will have you covered with all his updated takes for the series prices, for a recap of tonight's fiasco that's well presumably going to be a fiasco between the Devils and the Rangers in their Game seven and the round two first games going forward. So plenty of thoughts from Andy not only here on Vson's Hockey Betting Podcast throughout the rest of the week, but if you want some of his content now and immediately, make sure you check it out at vson dot com. That's vsion dot com. Under the NHL tab you can get McNeil's columns and he'll have you set up with his projections via his models and his takes on all of these series and games going forward. So again, no Andy on today's episode, but we are going to be joined by Nick l Berga. If you don't know, he is the host of the Leaf's morning take over at the Nation Network. Also co host of the NHL Fantasy on Ice podcast at The Golden Muzz. He's still one of the best Twitter handles out there is where you can follow him on Twitter. So of course we'll recap all the mayhem with him from Sunday. We'll talk about as Toronto maple Leafs and anything else that may be standing out in some of the upcoming Round two series in the Stanley Cup postseason. But folks, wow, That's really all that can be said is wow. From everything that we saw on Sunday, heck, even everything we saw on Saturday, but going more recently, the Panthers winning four to three in overtime at Boston. What a game and what a job by this Florida Panthers team. Now I feel for our guy, Andy Diehard, Boston Bruins fan, very very unfortunate. But from an objective standpoint, and I'm sure for anybody else out there who is watching the postseason and your team was not involved in that game, nor were you sweating out of bet maybe pre flop, maybe you're looking for something in game. But this is why playoff hockey is the best. The parody, the fact that no team is ever out of the game. Panthers go up to nothing, Boston comes back, Boston takes the lead. They are feeling rejuvenated, they are feeling great, and they have their sights set on the next series. And then finally, and it seemed like it took a while, but Florida took a little bit to take off or take out Pabrovski and have the empty net. And then when they finally did, then you kind of got some of that momentum from the Panthers because at first they were looking at tad bit lethargic. They were looking fatigue rightfully. So it's been an exhausting, grueling series and Game seven and then they get the puck to go in the net. Unbelievable. We were sweating this thing out on Vison Live bet Sunday, myself and Ben Wilson, and we were looking at all these live betting angles and it was crazy to see how much the market fluctuated, because even when the Panthers were up one nothing, it was still a pick em and if you wanted to lay just a goal, just one, it was like plus one fifty or one sixty with Florida. If you wanted to go with the full puck line one and a half, you were still getting over two dollars in a good spot. And then obviously there was some value with Boston when they were down to nothing. And then when Boston took the lead three to two, apparently the highest number you could have got on Florida was like over twelve to one. So again it just goes to speak on all of the in game live betting opportunities that Andy and I have been speaking on at nauseum throughout this podcast. And I was sweating out the over six and a half live and they goodness, we got that Florida goal to go through baby, because again they didn't pull Bobrovski till a little bit later, and it didn't look like there's gonna be that many opportunities for the empty net. And then when he went into overtime too, And I get why it was priced the way it was, but it still was just kind of crazy to think about it, because when you go into ot you know virtually at that point to pick them right, even if one team's better than the other, no pun intended, but all bets are off come overtime. Yet you saw the Panthers consistently at all these outlets getting plus money for ot you know, anywhere from plus one ten to plus one thirty five I was seeing, and the Bruins as high as like minus one sixty. Yet it felt like, not only because of how the end of regulation transpired, but even just who was controlling the puck and overtime, that Florida was gonna find a way to win this thing. Now, Boston did have a great shot opportunity went off the stick of Bobrovski, but besides that, it was all Florida in overtime. It seemed like they were controlling every everything, and Boston at that point getting back from down two. Oh, all the crap they felt like they dealt with in the series, being the President's Trophy winner, setting history in the regular season, it was just like the balloon was deflated for them in their season going forward. And then Florida caps it off in amazing fashion four to three winner in overtime. Unbelievable game, awesome series. The Panthers moving on to take on the Toronto maple Leafs, and again we'll speak more on that with our guy Nick Alberga momentarily and then you had the Crack and another underdog d throwning the Stanley Cup champions of last season. Seattle holds on to win two to one on the road. Look for me in this game, not that I was in love with the Cracking for this series or even four game seven, but when you look at it as a whole, in the Crack and scoring first every game, Seattle getting a lot of big wins. To me, it's just well, the red flags were apparent all year from Colorado. Incredibly hard to replicate championship success in hockey, Incredibly hard when you're injured all year and you don't have the same type of dominance roster wise as you did last season. So the red flags were very apparent game after game, month after month, and in this series for the Colorado Avalanche. But it's not to take anything away from Seattle. A very scrappy bunch, exuberant bunch, awesome performance from the get go, and again another great series that just goes to show how great the Stanley Cup postseason can be. But again we'll get into that more so with our guy Nick Alberga. We'll also talk about tonight's game with the Rangers and the Devils Game seven there in New Jersey again Andy sweating out his Devil series price tickets, so we'll see how the Devils can fare for him and all the other Devils backers and fans. Tonight again New Jersey is slight favorite minus one twenty. We're seeing Rangers at about plus one ten total at five and a half with heavy juice to the under. And then we've got some look aheads to the Panthers and Maple Leaves, as we alluded to the Kraken and the Stars. Those games gonna be beginning on Tuesday night and then the Oilers in the Vegas Golden Nights, so plenty of that to talk about. We're gonna take a quick break here on VSENT Hockey Betting Podcast, but remember after this break, we'll be joined by Nick elberga host of The Leaf's Morning Take, with plenty of hockey and betting thoughts from him coming next. Okay, it's time to welcome in a very special guest, Nick elberga the best Twitter handle out there, folks. If you don't know now, you do at the Golden Muzzy Is where you could follow him on the tweets, host of The Leaf's morning take over at the Nation Network, co host of the NHL Fantasy on Ice podcast, one of the best of the biz when it comes to covering the puck. We've got plenty to get into with Nick, especially with his Toronto Mayple leaves and what we can have to look forward to in their upcoming series. That's that's gonna be starting on Tuesday night with the Florida Panthers coming to town. But before we get into that exactly, Nick, we gotta start off with that action from last night and those Florida Panthers getting the dub Florida three n ot at Boston. I guess we'll start off playing in simple Your takeaway from that game and from that.
Series, well, great to be with you first and foremost, Danny, love doing this with you, Bud. I can't remember a crazier night in the Stanley Cup playoffs in recent memory. The fact that you have the President's Trophy winners go out, a historic season for the Boston Bruins. You have the reigning defending Stanley Cup champions go out, which I'm sure we'll get to against Seattle Kraken. But from that perspective, you look at the first game first, and foremost just the resiliency of the Florida Panthers. Down three to one in that series or more, most teams just call it a year. We're done, we're finished. Off to the off to golf in the summer, off to get set for next season. And they powered through it. And I'll be the first to admit it, I was the biggest naysayer of that off season deal last year between Florida and the Calgary Flames. But Matthew Kachuck has been everything and then some for that team, pretty much dragged that team through the series, and then Carter Veragg excuse me, snipes the winner in overtime and they pull off arguably, and I wouldn't even say arguably at this point, I do think it's the biggest upset in Stanley Cup playoff history. Just more so forty three points discrepancy in the standings and just how dominant a season it truly was for the Boston Bruins.
Yeah, And that's my next question was going to be just how big of a choke job it was? And you pretty much laid it out right there, because you see everybody on Twitter freaking out, especially all these Boston fans which you know, we were joking last night on Era. Not the worst thing to see for us, no normal fans who don't get success every other year in pretty much every sport, but truly truly remarkable for how the Panthers were able to come back. It's just hard to fathom, not even maybe necessarily that they won, which it's still it, don't get me wrong, but the fashion of how they came back in game seven was just something else. Man. And look, I think a big area of conversation with that game too, was the decision to put Swayman over Omark in that game. Who's going to be the Vesna winner? Right? I mean, like to me for Game sevens the old cliche you kind of throw the record books out right, everything goes out the window and it's a fresh reset. So even though Omark didn't do his job per se in game six, I still thought you would have went with your top goalie who had gotten you this far? Am I wrong for kind of thinking that? Did you agree with going with Swayman? What was your whole thought process on that maneuver?
I don't think you're incorrect at all, you know, I do think the system, excuse me, is a bit flawed. Certainly, we're seeing a lot more teams go to this tandem system. I know Lina saw Mark has played more games than Jeremy Swayman throughout the regular season, but I'm right there with you, not that I thought Swayman was the issue. In Game seven, made a couple of big time stops, including one on a Matthew could chuck breakaway and you ot. I just it would be tough in my world to dev eight from the guy, as you mentioned, who is going to win the Vesa Trophy. I don't care who's behind him. I don't care how solid Jeremy Swayman was in the second half of the season. That's just a difficult decision. And I guess that's why these coaches are paid the big bucks to make decisions like that. But ultimately, yeah, just it was Florida's time. The resiliency was there, and I think from a Boston perspective, I talked about this a lot, doing various hits on Viison going into the Stanley Cup playoffs, how I would fade and I wanted to fade the Boston Bruins just, you know, first and foremost, I just think the price was out of hand. And number two, the President's Trophy Kurstanny is a thing like the last team to win it. Actually, as you're very Chicago Blackhawks back in twenty thirteen, I'm sure you remember it vividly, but there's a reason why it's been ten years. Like it's really really hard to duplicate and bring that momentum from the regular season to the Stanley Cup playoffs, especially in this type of format where in the era of the salary cap and parody, like every opponent two degrees is going to be difficult. And I said it going into this series. Not that I picked Florida, but I didn't think they were the conventional eight seed, if that made sense. The Panthers are coming off President's Trophy last year. They attempted to build their team for success in the Stanley Cup playoffs, and so far, obviously they've had that right because they just went to seven games with the best team in hockey and in fact beat them all.
Right, and then Nick tell us about this cracking team, feisty, scrappy overcoming the defending Stanley Cup champions. They win last night two to one in Colorado. Look, I guess for me, this series wasn't as big of a shockers I mean, and I'm not saying it was to a lot of people, maybe necessarily just because with this Colorado team, first of all, is you very well, no, incredibly hard to replicate success after a championship season, especially in hockey. And then furthermore, with this Colorado team that was really banged up, dealing with a lot of adversity all year and quite frankly just was displaying red flags all season because of those issues that they dealt with. So I look, I figured they would close it out in Game seven. I thought Seattle had their chance. They kind of blew it, But props to the crack and man they came through and how they advanced. We see an expansion team do it once again. It's it's crazy.
Yeah, they're doing the Vegas Golden Nights all over again. And I tend to agree with you, like we sort of forget there were only nine points difference in the standings team Colorado and Seattle. But I think ultimately people looked at that Colorado team, they looked at what they did last spring, and they looked how dominant they were.
Right.
But I think for a variety of reasons, the upset was there for the taking. Again, I took Colorado in this series. But you know number one, No Nazem Cadri. Of course he's now with the Calgary Flames. I thought the goaltending was good enough. Cale mccarr has been banged up for the majority of the season. No Gabe Landiskag, who's their everything, he's their captain, didn't play a single game this season. There was the whole thing with Val Nachushkin, so he didn't play the most meaningful games. Or Terry Lekinon probably came back early from injury.
You know.
So what I'm telling you is that there was some holes on that Colorado roster. And on top of that, I don't think anybody gave their respect to the Seattle Crack and they deserve throughout the season. And then in addition to that, I love the revenge narrative. As you know, Philip Grubauer, former member of the Colorado Avalanche, by far his best series of games, if you will, as a member of the Seattle Krack. And as we've learned time and time again, you get goaltending and the Stanley Cup playoffs, you can do some big stuff, and so you add that all together, Dave Hackstall put together a great plan, and I thought of knowing that series too. Seattle scored the first goal in all seven games, So moving forward to that Seattle Dallas series, lookout for that.
Now.
That's the be ending at all, I think, especially in this Stanley Cup playoff world that we live in now, that teams come back all the time, but certainly starting with the lead is always something good. So that's something I really really noticed from Seattle. They're very pesky bunch.
As you mentioned that they are man something else. Again, that's really all could be said for this first round, And of course with the action happening last night, Cracking overcoming the Avalanche Panthers defeating the President's Trophy winner Boston Bruins, and now we look on to Round two for the most part, but we still have one more game, Game seven tonight, the Rangers and the Devils, New Jersey. Opening about minus one twenty at several outlets, the Rangers at about plus one ten total five and a half, with some juice to the under anywhere from like minus one twenty five his highest minus one forty. I would the only play that I've been considering is this total going under five and a hook. I'm kind of waiting to get your thoughts to see if I'm fully gonna get there, Nick, But we know how tight these teams play in game seven's in general, and I get the one thing that also kind of gives trepidation would be pulling the goalie earlier than usual in some of these spots. But I still think the under may be the correct call. Again, the juice laying at that heavily is not ideal. That would be the angle on pursuing because to me, truly it is a coin flip, even though the Devils do have the slight edge in terms of the odds as a minus one twenty favorite, So that may be the approach I'm considering. What say you though tonight?
Yeah, that's a fair approach, And again we think it's going to be a cureshmeat as we have this conversation for New Jersey, he's been quite the revelation in the first round, and have you goo Shustererkin just go look at his numbers. So that's why I think you present all the facts you need and then it's a Game seven to take a sniff and a look at the under on top of that, I think I'm going to stay consistent with the roadside. In case you didn't know listening to this podcast right now, the team to close out the other. It's six of seven road teams have won in the first round, and data is data, So I'm going to go after that a bit. And again, I do think experience is vital this time. You're Danny. You look at the New York Rangers, and maybe it's because I took the New York Rangers going into this series, but I do think they find a way to keep the theme of the series going right, with exception to the last one where the Rangers finally win that home game. But the road team has really really been dominant in the series, and for the most part, especially you know, dealing with a team like New Jersey who's relatively young and have some guys who are you know, taking the first couple of cracks at things, as opposed to the Rangers so many season vets. I actually would prefer from the Rangers perspective because a lot of these guys have played in meaningful games like this before. So I'm going to take the roadside in this one, all right.
I dig it should be a good one to look forward to this evening. And then tomorrow, of course, is when we get to start to see the maple Leafs Baby take on the Panthers. We'll see if Toronto can keep their success going. For the opening numbers for Game one, Toronto minus a buck forty or so Florida plus one twenty eight total at six and a half. You've already seen Toronto up to minus one fifty one fifty five and several outlets that are Visa and odds page again that total still at six and a half. In the series price, the best number that I've seen on Toronto was at bet MGM and DraftKings here in Illinois minus one sixty five for the cheapest amount of juice that you have to lay with the maple Leaves and the best number in terms of the underdog position you can get with the Panthers. Bette Rivers had plus one point fifty two with the Panthers, and Nick, I know you were sweating out. You know how soon you could look up your flights from Toronto to Florida Fort Lauderdale. So now that you officially know, are we going to be seeing you down there in Florida, and how would you maybe be betting this series once you get there.
So still in talks for that conversation, but let's hope it would be my third trip to Fort Lauderdale in the last like five months. I went for leisure in November, then I went for the All Star Game in February, and potentially back there for a couple games here between the Leafs and the Panthers. To answer your question, I think if you're looking for the Leafs to win the series, I said this in round one, I think you take away and see approach you mentioned that inflated and juice price. I just don't think now is the right time to bet on the Leafs in this series. I think you see what happens over the first couple of games, and then you reassess. Like I said it, after the first game, I still felt very very strongly about the Least winning that series in six games, and you were able to get them at plus money after they were just absolutely dismantled by the Tampa Bay Lightning. So I think that's the best approach. I think obviously the value is there right now at the Florida Panthers, and you know, I do vividly remember the four game season series. The Leafs I believe went three to zero, win one, and the games were relatively tight. I believe two of them went to overtime. I think people are going to sleep on the Florida Panthers in general because nobody expected them to be here. But they'll drag Toronto in the fight. Matt Matthewa, Chuck's gounda be a big story. Brandon Montur who had five goals in the seven games against Boston, including two in Game seven, including the tying goal with like fifty nine seconds left. I think ultimately people will sleep on the Florida Panthers. But from the perspective, if you are a believer in the Leafs, I think you take a wait and see approach as a as opposed to right away just laying the juice with this team. I just think there's no value in that.
Yeah, And That's what I'm thinking going forward as well for any series that I may like the favorite in, because for Round one, I had Maple Leaves to win the series like minus one forty Stars to win the series minus one forty and they both lost Game one, so I could have got a better Knocker in game two. Yeah, so I kind of like that weight and see approach. And if you really do like them, then of course you could bet them game one. If they win, awesome, cash your ticket. If not, all right, look for an adjusted series price going forward. But yeah, I like that. Play for Toronto and Florida and then Nick, you know, before we get get you out here, my man, I know you got plenty of other shows you got to do. Now that the Maple Leaves are moving on Baby Edmonton, VGK, Seattle in Dallas. Anything standing out for those game ones or for their series prices.
It'll be interesting from the Edmonton perspective, because I'll preface by saying I had them to win my Stanley Cup this year. I do think that the time is nigh. Leon Drysettle had an impeccable first round. He had seven goals. Edmonton and Connor McDavid, we all know that conversation and that story. I think he's yet to find his groove of the Stanley Cup playoffs if you can believe it. If you're looking to play some players as well, like Evan Bouchard's been on a different planet. But that series specifically more so about Vegas's netmining, So it impressed me. In the first round, I actually had Winnipeg in the upset. They won the first game and it felt like Vegas was teetering. But again, a couple of big time injuries to Winnipeg and they went and went into the night. And of course we saw Rick Bonus's comments the other day as well, But that's the biggest storyline for me in that series. Will vegas Is netmining hold up against Connor McDavid and company, who are not afraid and are not starved ever for offense, Like I think from that perspective, we all know Vegas has had an impact of you know, an unbelievable season, you know, Mark Stone's back of the mixed, Jack Eichel in his first postseason run. But from perspective the goaltending, will it hold up against an Edmonton team?
Yeah? Man? And again you know you speak about goaltending like Stuart Skinner And it's not even just because the play where he let up the goal where's stick broke? But yeah, even before that, Yeah, he kind of scares me a little bit. I'm not gonna lie, and look, he's a rookies, a young goalie. You understand all the pressure mounting to him. I'm with you. So Andy and I are co host here on the on the podcast, we both are invested on in some oilers futures. I got him at least just to come out of the conference. I believe that's what Andy has as well. But man, again, this team is awesome. It's just Stuart Skinner's a little scary here. But to me, vgk Nick has been playing a little bit over their heads. Maybe on the offensive front. Defensively they've been great, but at some point you got to think that may be broken through, especially with a great offense like one that Edmonton possesses.
Yeah, it's just interesting. Like Bruce Cassidy, like I always seem to sleep on this guy. You know, I'll be the first to admit my biggest last offseason was saying that Vegas is going to miss the Stanley Cup playoffs in tires right, and man I missed that, like I struck out looking for that matter. They were unbelievable this year. You know, they they win the conference. They were dominant, especially in the first half. So I can't sleep on this Vegas team. I think obviously they're going to be in tough against an Edmonton team that boasts two of the best players on the planet right now. And you know, ack Holm has been a great pickup and Bouchard's been hot, and there's a lot of depth on that roster. But I would not sleep on Vegas again if they can get the goaltending. I think the system is the most important thing to watch this time here. And when you have a season coach like Bruce Cassidy who has made guys like Aiden Hill and Laarnpeosois relevant. With all due respect to those guys, I think people are going to sleep on Vegas in that series. And I'm telling you right now to not do that because they're really, really well coached team. And again, they're dealing with some injuries like Shay Theodore has been banged up, Mark Stone, who knows how that back's going to hold up. Ekael has been a great story as mentioned, like there are some gamers on that roster. I actually think there's some sneaky value in Vegas because everybody's gonna be looking at Edmonton this year.
True. Yeah, Vegas plus one thirty five the best price I've seen on the Golden Knights at Caesars and then Edmonton minus won forty three for the cheapest number at bet rivers and Edmonton a slight favorite in game one minus one oh nine or so is where they opened and so right around that picking price. But a lot of books have a slight edge to Edmonton is the favorite total at six and a half. But I still think, yeah, like the kind of what we were saying, If you like Edmonton, perhaps just wait post game one to see how that goes down and then look to take him from that point on. But then, like you said too, hey, if you do think the Golden Knights are a sneaky squad, maybe you take the value with them now. And there is high as plus one thirty five to win that series over the Edmonton Oilers. Again, folks, that is Nick el berga at the Golden Muzzy, where you could follow him on Twitter for all his postseason and in general hockey take Make sure you check him out there and especially for the Toronto Maple Leafs. He is the host of the Leaf's Morning take Over at the Nation Network and co host of the NHL Fantasy on Ice podcast, so make sure you check him out on Twitter and all of his content. Nick my Man best of luck going forward with everything. Thank you for taking some time and go Maple Leafs, baby, we'll be rooting for you.
I have no nails left over, only two weeks through this thing, Danny, thanks so much for having me take.
Care alrighty, big thanks to Nick el Berga for making some time on this Monday morning at the Golden Muzzy where you could follow him on Twitter for more of his content, all of his takes on the Stanley Cup postseason, and remember specifically for the Maple Leafs check him out hosting the Leaf's Morning take over at the Nation Network. So again, big shout out to Nick. Hopefully the postseason continues to keep on for his sake and for the Maple Leafs fans and backers say, because would be quite the story to see Toronto take this thing all the way. Man, though selfishly, you know, well, at least in the other conference, well we're at least rooting for Edmonton to get there, right, that's the that's the futures ticket that Andy, I are going to be sweat and so as long as we get there, yeah, the Maple Leaves can do their thing from that point on. But a couple other things I wanted to discuss before we end this show. One thing last night that during VS and Live Bet Sunday, Ben Wilson and I were talking about was depending on what was going to happen with Seattle and Colorado, how that would affect Dallas in the Star's futures going forward. So while the game was going on between Seattle and Colorado, some books, several books I suppose, still had future odds posted, and this is when it was zero zero. So at that point Dallas I saw, at least at a book is high as ten to one for their odds to win the Stanley Cup ten to one. Again, in general, I think that would have been a good look or any look on the Star because they were a little bit forgotten about heading into the postseason, right, tad bit of inconsistency from their team heading into the playoffs. But we know what Ottinger is capable of, We know what kind of finesse and skill set that offense has featured. And despite losing Game one and then Game three, you saw that more consistently in Round one with Dallas than a team like Minnesota. And that's why we like them on a series price. That's why a lot of people like them, and that's why I think they can be attractive team going forward, and probably were to a lot of people one of those squads that kind of maybe not forgotten about, but flew under the radar once again going into the postseason as a team that did have a lot of aspirations coming into the year throughout the middle portions of it, but then we kind of shifted our attention away from them. But here they are in Round two now taking on the Seattle Krack and then Dallas's odds to win the Cup the best number I've seen now is like plus five point fifty, So again it's almost cut in half because it's Seattle facing them as opposed to the defending Stanley Cup champions, the Colorado Avalanche, So just crazy to see how much of a difference that made. And again in that series, Dallas minus one eighty eight at FanDuel is the best price you can get on the Stars that I've seen, and for Seattle well plus one sixty five over at DraftKings. Game one opened with Dallas minus one fifty six Seattle plus one forty two. Total had five and a half with some slight juice to the under We'll save more of that discussion for tomorrow when we're rejoined by Andy McNeil, But again, gonna be a great series. We'll see how far the cracking can take it and see if that underdog mentality persists in Round two against the Dallas Stars. But before we head out, let's get some final thoughts for Game seven tonight with the Rangers and the Devils. Much like I said with Nick Alberga, I've got no thoughts on a side here now, I'll be having a root for the Devils because our guy Andy McNeil sweating out that ticket. Baby, so always got to support support our guy Andy and see his ticket come through. But from my angle looking at this, kind of like I alluded to with Nick, I'm considering this total and five and a half is where it's set out for the full game heavy do so anywhere from like minus one twenty five to minus one forty geesh. Yeah, I certainly lean toward this being a lower scoring affair. But as we've discussed here on this podcast, elimination games, and in particular Game sevens, are even more tricky because there's a likely chance that you're gonna have your goalie taken out sooner than he normally would. Now, granted, both Colorado and in Florida actually went a little bit longer than I thought they would without taking out their goalie, but at least that's kind of the thought process going forward. So you could get screwed with the under because of the late game shenanigans, with taking out the goalie potentially sooner than you normally would, and the juice isn't that attractive, let's be honest. But then now my thoughts have been shifted toward the first period. And if you've been betting on the first period and looking at kind of unique betting angles in general, you know you can do the total goals in a certain timespan for the first ten minutes, and I think this is an interesting one to consider. So if you want no goal at bet Rivers for the first ten minutes of this game, plus one oh two is the price that you're seeing some other books making you lay about minus one oh five the minus one oh eight. So I was strongly considering that, and I don't mind it whatsoever, But again, one kind of fluky goal, one goal in general, can kill you, and that's what then turns it into instead the first period under one and a half because you're not sweating out the whole game and all the bs that could ensue in the final moments. Minus won twenty five is the best price I've seen here in Illinois at Caesars for first period under one and a half. If I'm already leaning toward it being a lower scoring game, would lean toward the no goal in the first ten minutes. Okay, maybe add a little bit more security so you can give away a goal and still cast your ticket and you don't have to sweat out the full game to get that under locked in. And it's the same type of philosophy of me wanting to bet this is that, well, it's game seven. These teams are going to be playing incredibly tight, conservative even maybe at the beginning stages because you don't want to be the player or the line to make that big mistake, and hopefully more discipline and avoiding the power plays which will help us. You would think, limit the scoring opportunities and keep it under one and a half. So, folks, that is the play that I'm going to be betting tonight. First period under one and a half goals between the Devils and the Rangers. And that's to do it for us here on Vson's Hockey Betting Podcast. Feel free to reach out on Twitter at Dandy burg five. Let me know what you're sweating out tonight, let me know what other series prices you may be considering going forward in Round two of the Stanley Cup postseason. Again, a big thanks to Nick Alberga for joining us at the Golden Muzzy where you can catch him on the tweets, and make sure you're catching Annie McNeil's articles and his columns over at vson dot com at Digital Gambler where you can follow Andy on the tweets. He will be back in the mix tomorrow to talk about some of his favorite series bets in Game one bets going forward. But that's going to do it for another edition of Vson's Hockey Betting Podcast. Appreciate all of you tuning in. Always appreciate it if you like and subscribe, helps us and helps you get notified when the episodes are released and you get that to your phone, to your laptop, whatever it may be, as soon as possible. So until tomorrow, take care, folks, and best of luck with all your wagers.
