VSiN PrimeTime | Hour 4 | January 30, 2025

Published Jan 31, 2025, 4:11 AM

In this hour of VSiN PrimeTime, Tim Murray and Matt Youmans update tonight's NBA action. Plus, Ian Cameron joins the show with his Super Bowl LIX props.

This is v SIN Prime Time live from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas on vsin the Sports Betty.

Network, our four of v SIN Prime Time, keeping our eyes on what's unfolding at Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln, Nebraska as Nebraska trying to snap a six game losing streak, currently leading by nine on Illinois as they went off as a four and a half point home dog, even got out to five at some spots, and right now as a nine point lead, they are an in game favorite matt over the eighteenth ranked Illinois fighting a line on. Memphis ended the first half on a nine to zero run down at two lane. They were down twenty six to twenty and they were the in game underdog, but they went on that nine to ozer run and they are now a favorite here in that one. So the two ranked teams in action right now, Memphis now a five and a half point in game favorite, leading by three over Twulane and also as mentioned, Nebraska leading by nine and they are currently a four and a half point in game favorite. Kind of feels a little bit similar to what we saw last week. Man Illinois just doesn't look the part without the big fella down there and they are a nine point favorite, nine point excuse me, four and a half point dog. Illinois is again.

Why cough probably cough this one up kind of like me tonight. You know, Illinois shooting has been so bad and we'll, like you say, without the big guy, very reliant on jump shots tonight and at halftime three for eighteen from three. It doesn't look good. It does look good for Eli Hirskowitz, who's got Nebraska is a pregame bet. I don't really have any optimism here about Illinois making a big run. Why I just cut it to forty two thirty eight, Tim, and then the Nebraska scored five in a row. But go back up forty seven to thirty eight, Nebraska four and a half point live favorite. I just don't like the way Illinois's playing. And it's hard to make a comeback like this down nine on the road. If you're just going to fire threes and you're shooting threes at about fifteen percent.

Yeah, there's no doubt. And yeah it's funny. As you looked at some home dogs today Nebraska, I looked at it. I said, hmm, I just I can't trust them. Maybe a little bit of bad taste to my mouth from what I saw. Sure you know last week when they played against usc what I deemed to be a good spot. They were laying six, They get their butts kicked, but six game losing streak facing a short handed Illinois team, and right now Nebraska seems like the right side is a four and a half point dog once again, Twulane look like the right side may still be. That game closed five and a half, they were up twenty six to twenty two. Lane goes, excuse me, Memphis goes on a nine to zero run and at the break they lead by three. In game number the same the pre flop number, Memphis minus five and a half.

A line I update three for twenty one from three point range fourteen percent, and that's gonna have to change dramatically if Illinois is going to get back in this game. I like Elis Bett. I think he's gonna be pretty good with the corn Huskers. But we got fifteen and a half minutes to go and we're still talking about Nebraska team. Tim, what's happened to this team? Because, like you, I watched the corn Huskers in the Diamond Head Classic and Honolulu over Christmas, they looked really good and I said this team could make some noise in the Big Ten. Not in terms of contending for a Big Ten title, but this might be a team that can finish in the top half of the Big Ten. That's saying something when you got eighteen teams. But man, they've been bad. The Huskers have been bad since Big Ten plays started, and two and seven in league play going into tonight's game. Illinois just hit a three now the and I four for twenty two.

Yeah, we talked about the three point defense is not great for one as they're trying to snap a six game losing streak. Matt our Game of the Night coming up in less than a half hour Pauley Pavilion, UCLA at Caesar's William Hill. They are now a five and a half point favorite. So the money continues to come in on the UCLA Bruins here, as we talked about earlier in the program, UCLA since Mick Cronin called out his team and was very grumpy. Talked to Matt Norlander from CBS Sports talking about the travel and how much they've had so far this year. They went to Nebraska back home to play Michigan, then to Maryland and Rutgers. They lost all four of those games. But since then, Matt, they returned home to play Iowa Wisconsin. They won both of those games. Then they went on the road to the Pacific Northwest. They beat Washington, went on the road just Crosstown to usc they beat the Trojans, and now at home lay in five five and a half against Oregon, a team that, as you mentioned, already beat as a three and a half point dog in December eighth, seventy three to seventy one. You know, it's funny, Ucla, a team that I don't know. At times has felt like a bit disappointing. Remember they opened up the year with a loss in our backyard at the in Henderson, Nevada, losing in New Mexico seventy two to sixty four. But Nick cronin Squad's kind of turned things around to you, Matt. And it's a big number though, to lay in this spot.

Yeah, seventy two to sixty four final score against New Mexico. The game was not that close, but you know what, New Mexico is not that bad either. Yeah, So I think there's probably some overreactions to UCLA getting its head caved in by the Lobos in that game. You know, a deave Mera, the seven to three center for UCLA, had twelve points and eleven rebounds last week against USC. That was a game where Tyler Bildeo, the leading scorer for UCLA, was out, and I had a pretty good idea before that game that he was going to be out. That's why I wanted to bet USC well. Even without the leading scorer, UCLA kind of led. I think it was pretty much wire to wire, Bruins led to Trojans won that game eighty two to seventy six. Dylan Andrews Sebastian Mack had been a couple of guards have been really inconsistent for mc cronan for much of the season. But they played better last week against the USC and played better in general. As we got a lot of respect from McK cronin as a coach. And you know when he called his team out, called his players soft, you weren't sure. I'm just not sure how that's going to play with the play in the locker room where those players going to respond. It turns out they have responded, because that something like that can backfire too but Ucla has won four straight and mccronin punched the right buttons. Also, the schedule, it's been a little bit better at tim because UCLA was on a tough travel schedule, including games on the East Coast against Maryland and Rutgers, and I think there was a game at Nebraska and there was Well, there's a lot of tough travel and now the Bruins have been mostly back over on the West Coast in the last four games.

So as we look at the board, there's only a handful of games that have yet to tip off. Let me ask you this, Matt, if you're looking to maybe throw Ucla in a late night money line parlay, would you pair them with You see San Diego on the island late steam coming in on what are they the Tritons? Or can you not trust a team on the road on the island late night? You see San Diego is coming into this game, not to be confused with the Terrero's. You see San Diego seventeen and four and coming off of back to back double digit wins. This team is believed to be probably the best team in the Big West Conference them or you see IRV you're.

The best or second best team. You can make a case for UC Irvine and being the best team in the Big West. H you know, overnight this number was eight, and I thought about playing Hawaii plus eight, but again I passed on that. And you see San Diego's Legit just tough lay that type of number. Yeah, road to Hawaii A lot of times. I like to play the home dog in these type of games. Tim, we have, but you're right, we have seen in the market this number tick up from seven to seven and a half at most books here in the last twenty minutes.

Yep, so a little bit of late money coming in.

I don't really like this Hawaii team, and I'm not going to jump on board with this, yeah, because I'm not going to play this home dog. Ye.

I do like UCLA a little bit here, but I don't really lay in the five. Just you're getting the worst of the number. As you mentioned, you could have got you know, four, three, and I think there might have been some three and a half's out there. So I do like UCLA though, I like the way they're playing right now, and as you've pointed out, Oregon just seems a bit off and at Paul Pavilion, maybe this UCLA team is maybe coming into form a little bit here, so I got to figure out how ultimately I want to want to play this one. By the way, quick update.

Well, I will say in the four games, yeah, the UCLA's won during this win streak. The margins were six, five and two points after the blowout against Iowa, so they have been Like you said, I don't really want to lay the five, four and a half or five either.

Yeah, all right, we got Ian Cameron, the Canadian kid as Matt likes to call him, coming up at the coming up in five minutes. Quick update from the NBA as the lowly Wizards got absolutely destroyed tonight. They have now lost fifteen in a row for a second time this year, one thirty four to ninety six. The market was up accurate as it opened five and a half ballooned out.

Why should any Wizards fans ever attend a game?

Good question?

The team is this bad? Seriously, why would you waste time and money to go out to a Washington Wizards game at this point, at any any point to season ten?

No, there's no reason. There's zero.

Is that desperate for entertainment?

Pinnacle Bank is where the entertainment's at Nebraska now up double digits.

Maybe go out to watch visiting team. Right, if you're a Lakers fan, you'd go out to watch the Lakers. Oh, sure truck the Wizards by thirty eight times.

I would imagine the Capitol one areno is rocking tonight. It is a very transient town there in the nation's capitol, and I'm sure there are plenty of Laker fans there to watch Lebron James go for twenty four and eleven in a one thirty four to ninety six pasting of the Wizards, who are now six and forty one. The Timberwolves have a four point lead at the breakover the Utah Jazz, the game of the night in the NBA. We've said Houston get off to a good start here. They lead forty seven to thirty seven. No job Morant there for the Memphis Grizzlies and the Cleveland Cavaliers improved to an Eastern Conference best thirty nine and nine as they get the win and the cover tonight over the Atlanta Hawks. They win one thirty seven to one point fifteen, covering the eleven and a half point spread. Ian Cameron gonna come up and break down the Super Bowl as well as some other best bets with Ian Cameron. Draftkicks Memphis out to a five point lead and eleven zero run for the Tigers down in Nolands over Tulane. The Canadian kid, Ian Cameron he joins the program. Next, it is vsin primetime.

This is V said primetime VS. In the Sports Betty Network.

It is VS in primetime here on a Thursday evening or from the Circus Sports Book in downtown Las Vegas. I just saw our friend Doug Kazarian tweet out a picture from the Westgates Superbook as the props are up over there at the Westgates Superbook. We talked to Jeff Sherman earlier in the program. A big night here in Vegas, matt as the Westgates Superbook drops their big packet of prop bets.

Out a thousand different ways to bet the game. And thanks to Jeff Sherman for coming on the show tonight. Big Randy McKay was out here in the circuit book. He is over there at the Westgate Superbook tonight. I'm sure Dave Towey of v SIN is over there as well. And it's not what he used to be on Thursday nights, but it's still significant when the Westgate, because the West Gate is the king of the props, of the Super Bowl props. You're gonna put out the most, They're gonna roll out the biggest menu, and you still want to be there to catch the numbers you're looking for when they open, and they opened about fifteen minutes ago.

All right, let's head to our progressive guest line. We're keeping you updated, by the way on college hoops right now. As Memphis, nineteenth ranked team in the country, leads at thirty three thirty two, but two lane battling there as they were a five and a half point home dog, and Nebraska still has the lead over the Illinois fighting a line I Ian Cameron joins us right now courtesy of our progressive guest line Ian. Before we get into the nooks and cranny, so to speak, of everything that is going on, Let's just look at the Super Bowl right now. We sit Chiefs lay in one and a half total forty nine. Anything early for you on a side or the total in Super Bowl fifty.

Nine, it's Chiefs are passed for me. It's just got to be when you look at the fact that it's you know, two weeks to get ready for Andy Reid and his staff. They've been phenomenal in this situation, and you look at Kansas City, they just continue to find ways to win. You know, Patrick Mahomes is on a perfect ats run. When the points spread is three or less in the playoffs, I think it's he's covered seven straight him and the Chiefs when the points spread's been three or less, it's just very difficult. They find ways to win, and they did last week in the AFC Championship game against Buffalo the end of the day, you know, they came up with a stop. Spagnolo came up with a right defensive play call on fourth down to get the stop they needed against Josh Allen. The Bills or did not see the corner blitz coming. That's what forced Allen to get rid of the ball quickly. And obviously it was a prayer and maybe you could say Cage should have had it because he hit him in the arm. But the end of the day, you know that blitz really threw everything off. Just very difficult for me. I think when you look at this this game, you can make a case Philadelphia from a roster talent standpoint could be better. You know, when you look at the receivers they've got, when you look at the best running back going and right now in Saquon Barkley, the way he's played, I definitely think you got to give Mahomes the edge of the quarterback spot over Jalen Hurts. It wasn't as hoppled as much as I thought he would be against Washington, and certainly the two weeks is going to come in handy for him and for a few of these Eagles because it was not just him that was banged up. It was the starting center Jurgons who actually had to come into the game because the backup to him got injured against Washington. So now Jurgens is gonna have a couple weeks to get healthy. Hurts is gonna have even more time now, two weeks to get that knee feeling better. Quinnyon Mitchell, the rookie corner who's been outstanding, didn't play against Washington. He's gonna have a couple weeks now to maybe get back. And I'm seeing things today earlier online reading reports that Brandon Graham, a key defensive lineman, key pass rusher for this team, might be back. So that's good news for Philadelphia here in this game. And I like their roster. But the end of the day, Mahomes Reid and this Kansas City team, they just keep finding ways and don't put it past them. How badly this team wants to make some very very rare NFL history and become the first team in the modern era to win three straight Super Bowls.

Ian Cameron, the Canadian kid with us, how many teams have three peated in Canadian Football League history?

Man putting them on the spot, huh off the top of my head, it's not in my lifetime.

I know that we've had a couple of repeat champs, but not a three peat.

The three peats are extremely rare. It never happened in the Super Bowl era. All right, Ian, have you bet any Super Bowl props yet or any that you want to target anything you're thinking about playing here this weekend? Yeah?

Mostly players. You know, I've already got concepts as far as butch players. I'm going to be looking at here as far as a player props in these games. And I think for me, the one that stands out for Philadelphia is Dallas Goddard. Dallas Goddard all playoffs I've been on his over receptions is over receiving yards. He's been a big time security blanket to Jalen Hurts in the passing game. He's always gotten him involved. He's always looked for them in the passing game. And what if I said all season about Kansas City on various shows, They're terrible defending the tight end. It's been a big time problem for them all season long. Tight ends have been able to feast against this Chiefs defense over the middle of the field. So I think if you want, if you ask me right now the number one player that I'm targeting on either team for player props, it's most assuredly Dallas Goddard for Philadelphia.

I just looked it up. The last team to win three or more consecutive Gray Cups, it was before Ian's lifetime. It was before my lifetime. From nineteen seventy eight to nineteen eighty two, Ian the Edmonton Eskimos has won five straight Gray Cups.

Those were the Warren Moon estivals.

Warren Moon those quarterback back.

Then what years, seventy eight to eighty two, most Valuable player in the nineteen eighty two Great Cup, the seventieth Great Cup. Warn Moon, there you go, he and Cara joining us.

See a great CFL quarterbacks that played in the States too, Joe Thaisman or Damon Allen.

I mean, it's a pretty solid list, no.

Doubt about Doug Fluti Gluty for a bit Fluty Flakes boy did not anticipate a little CFL history.

But you know, when it's late night comic four more months we got the season back again.

Well we'll have you on to do a little preview. We're going to need it here from the Gray Cup standpoint, so Dallas Goddard someone you're looking at from a prop standpoint. As as of right now, chiefs are pass for you Ian as you I don't know if you've started your handicapping and getting ready to send out your emails for tomorrow, but anything initially jumping off on the NHL card for you tomorrow as we look at a pretty slight slate only four games on the card tomorrow. There is still a game tonight if you've got something on San Jose Seattle, as that game is not gonna puck drop until ten forty five Eastern.

Yeah.

I think one game that definitely stands out to me right now is probably look for some goals to be scored between Nashville and Buffalo.

I know Nashville went under the total.

Against Vancouver, but they really were struggling defensively before that, and I still don't know if their defense is back on track. Vancouver is not always a high scoring team, and Vancouver when they had the lead last night against Nashville, they really tightened the game up. Buffalo at times can be leaky defensively, and Nashville, like I said, prior to last night, they were given up five goals to San Jose back to back games and also to Anaheim, and neither of those teams are very good. So Nashville's having issues defensively, but they can score and I think they will. But Buffalo they exploded for seven against Boston, two different players at hat trick. So definitely the play that stands out the most of the Quarteta games on Friday on the ice would probably be that over six there with Nashville and Buffalo.

Ian Cameron is a high volume better. You've got plays all over the card every day, NHL, NBA cowed, Oops, how about NBA collig Oops? Anything jump out to you for Friday?

It's good.

It's an interesting I always like these Friday slates, less games than you usually find a couple that you know are of interest to me on the board. You know I'm interested. As good as Dayton has been of late. Of course, they ran into a Saint Bonaventure earlier this week and fell. The Saint Louis Billikins are a team that I was waiting on this team to really start to put things together. There's a lot of talent on this team. I think from just a pure roster standpoint. Coming into the season, I thought they'd be one of the better teams in this Atlantic ten conference.

I love the hire of Josh Shirtz.

He did a great job at Indiana State before he came to the Billiicans. You know, I'm interested in Saint Louis at a near pickham here against Dayton. Dayton's been one of these teams where they've been a streaky bunch. They had that red hot start to the year. They kind of had a dip there early in conference play, then they got red hot for a few games, then they finally dropped one again against Saint Bonaventure. Been a streaky group and it's a pretty scheduling spot where now they got to play back to back here on the road in a short period of time. So I'm kind of interested there in Saint Louis and that side in that game and then another one I'll throw out there. As far as Tomorrow Night is concerned, Sienna has been a bit of a disappointment all over the map this year, the results from the Sienna Saints, but I still believe long term and the higher they made and the Syracuse legend Jerry McNamara, I think give him time and eventually he'll be able to work things out and get this program at least pointed the arrow pointed up here in the Metro Atlantic. And I'm just not trustworthy of the marist Red Foxes when they're laying more than a bucket or more than a possession. So I'm very interested in Sienna plus the points. And I can say this as someone that handicaps Metro Atlantic pretty much extent, very much focus on it, especially over the years on these Friday nights road underdogs in this conference have done very well historically. It's not an easy conference to lay points.

In the act the double as there on Friday and night. I do love a little maction there on Friday nights. And you know, hopefully for your sake the fans of passion there in Saint Louis and fighting fighting, this will carry over from the VCU game tomorrow night. My goodness, that was someone something you could follow him on Twitter at bets.

Yeah, hopefully. I and the Super bowls as good as a Great Cup? Right, that was a wild game. I believe you nailed that with your handicap side in total.

Right, Yeah, that Toronto Winnipeg Great Cup was exciting. It went over the total we had the argos outright as a big dog. So if we can get Super Bowl results to mimic that, I'll be quite happy.

He is Ian Cameron, the Canadian Kid, as Matt likes to call him. Always enjoy his insight each and every Thursday here on the program. Ian appreciate it. Best of luck this weekend.

Good to be with you guys. We'll talk to you next week. Enjoy the weekend.

There he is at Bobano Betts Is where you can find him on at Twitter. It's vsin primetime.

This is VS.

In primetime, on vsin the Sports Betty Network, it is VIS in prime time.

You'll be updated on a handful of games going on right now. Houston with a nine point lead two minutes to go in the second quarter, Rockets up sixty two to fifty three on the Memphis Grizzlies. Grizzlies went off as around a three and a half point favorite. How about Illinois battling back four and a half point dogs to start this? Excuse me? Four and a half point favorites. I beg your pardon, and they have cut the deficit down to three. They were what at halftime? I believe catching four and a half.

Yeah, up nine Nebraska not too long ago. Now it's down to sixty four to sixty with just under five minutes to go. So whine, I not dead yet, you're not? Ooh? I about to hit a three too. Sixty four to sixty three just over four minutes ago, and Illinois has now flipped Nope, Nebraska still one and a half point favorite. This number is bouncing back and forth within seconds here. When I hit a three, they have not hit many of the definitely have not shot at a high percentage night. But that's a one point game now Illinois, yes, has flipped it a one and a half point favorite.

This would be a pretty crushing loss for Nebraska, who has lost six in a row.

Oh, pretty much the whole way it has been them.

The entire way. Still should be in decent shape to get the cover here, but boy, this would be a tough loss for Fred Hoiberg squad. Four minutes to go, sixty four to sixty three, Nebraska with the one point lead over Illinois and the align I turn it over, Matt, I do want to turn our attention here. I don't know if this is just a numbers play, but before tip off at poly pavilion all day. We've been seeing the money come in all night. I should say on Ucla got as high as five and a half. Well, here comes the resistance, as it is now back down to four and a half. A little money line play come in as well. I was looking to just lick my wound and try to play a money line parlay here with Ucla and you see San Diego? What could go wrong? But late money coming in on on Oregon here, so number about four and a half?

Still five? I see it a couple offshore places before and a half here in Vegas, so numbers dipped most spots from five to four and a half, but not a big move. You played Ucla, you see San Diego?

Yeah?

Why not?

Okay, a little late night what could go wrong? Money line parlay?

Did you think about throwing Grand Canyon on there as well? Throw all the late games.

On there, all the three favorites late night. We're not going to get any craziness here.

I did that last night. I was so ticked off about how things were going that actually moneyline parlay the favorite last night and it worked out all right. So hopefully that works out for you tonight.

I should have yeah, I probably should have thrown the thrown the lopes in there to maybe get a little plus money on that money line parlay. But there you go. A little best bet late night for me. We just heard from Ian Cameron he is liking the Saint Louis Billikins as short home favorites tomorrow against the Dayton Flyers, and he also is interested in a little action as I forget which, Oh that's what we liked. You like the Sienna Saints at merist catching six here at Circus. So those are his two plays tomorrow, Matt and I will run through the Friday card on the other side of the break. But let's play a little sound. We've got a new head coach here in Las Vegas, someone that you are, I would say, moderately excited about Pete Carroll coming to Las Vegas.

I think it's a bad hire. I've seen rse hires. I think Liam Cohen and Jacksonville might prove to be a bad high do the You know, Pete Carroll at least he's been there and done it, and he knows how to run a professional organization and the Raiders need that because the Raiders have been pretty unprofessional in recent years. Uh is he going to bring Russell Wilson to Vegas as his quarterback? And a lot of people are probably saying, please, no, no, don't bring Russ. Let's hear from Pete Carroll talking about the possibility of Russell Wilson as a raider, So.

What are your plans and might there be any chance of a Russell Wilson reunion?

Right now? Susia is so early.

I mean, we're just in the midst of just trying to find the puzzle pieces, not even putting them together yet, So I really can't I can't even say.

I mean, guys are still free. Agency hasn't come yet.

That's the first competitive opportunity that will occur, and then the draft is coming, we'll have that opportunity to do things. I can't tell you right now. I mean I could, I could guess, but it would just be a guess. So but I promise you, if you're a real competitor, you're not letting options get away from it. So we're going to consider every option as a possibility, and we're going to go after it very aggressively, with intent and hopefully with a sense and a feeling that people want to be part of this thing, all.

Right, real quickly. I know we've got a big audience on serious XM now channel one fifty eight. We've also got folks listening on VSA, so you may not be watching, and we've got great terrestrial affiliatees across this country. If you're watching with us, I couldn't take anything seriously, Matt, why is there nothing on his shelves? Is freaking me out? Come on, man, throw some footballs up there. Something the empty shelves.

Maybe he was in a hotel room. Maybe he just moved into his office south of Raiders headquarters. That's't got anything on the shelves.

A USC or Seahawks stuff.

Just throw it up there, by the way, I'm gonna mention this. So Pete Carroll's obviously got the USC connections. The quarterback I think is going to be the big Riser and this draft is Jackson Dart from All miss You remember where Jackson Dart started his college career USC. I think that's a guy to keep your eye on with the Raiders. I know that Shdoor Sanders is going to be talked about a lot because of Tom Brady's connection, but I think it's gonna be one of those guys. I do think the Raiders are gonna go with Shodoor Sanders or Jackson Dart. Now, Russell Wilson might be the placeholder, right you bring him in for a year and he's your veteran quarterback who's going to start until he loses a job. But do you even need Russell Wilson.

At this point?

I don't know if you do.

By the way, speaking of Jackson Dart, Todd McShay on his podcast said, there are many folks in this year that many scouts that view Jackson Dart as QB two in this draft class.

So who's QB one? Cam Ward?

I would imagine cam Ward. I have not listened to that clip. But Tom mcshae, by the way, I'm a fan of Tom mcshay's work. I think he does a good job analyzing players, and he's got a podcast now. I think he's down at the Senior Bowl, so he's probably chopping it up there. But all right, Russell Wilson, what would that? I don't think the level of excitement here in Las Vegas would be very high if it's Russell Wilson.

You know, I was looking through some Pro Bowl history, HM, your guy Joe Thiesman was the MVP of the Pro Bowl in nineteen eighty three. The NFC won that game forty five to three. Who let's go on some of these Pro Bowls actually high scoring and very entertaining games. And Matt Shrewsbury, the shrews The Parley King from Fresno, California, texted in. He said, tell Tim Murray that the Pro Bowl was a great event before he was born. Okay, okay, okay, Well it's not a great event.

I've been on this earth for thirty seven years, so it sucked for a while.

It was still good when you were a kid. You just don't remember it. I actually liked the Pro Bowl a lot when it was played at a Loha Stadium in Honolulu. Now, obviously it went downhill in the later years, but you know, really, now it's turned into a joke. And Russell Wilson was named a Pro Bowl alternate or he was named to the Pro Bowl roster, and he missed the first six games of the season and did not play all that well when he did start. JJ Watt had a take on what the Pro Bowl has become.

I think it's okay to just admit that something has run its course. I think there was obviously a time where it held a serious level of prestige and honor, and guys went and thoroughly enjoyed it and played and put in some great effort. I mean Obviously the Sean Taylor clip comes to mind, but I think over the years, the way the business has grown and the way that the risk level has gone through the roof. For if you're a guy in a contract year, or if you were god to forbid to get hurt in that Pro Bowl, what it means for your next season, what.

It means for your career. For these teams, it just does not make sense.

I I was just watching that clip wondering if aj Hawk would say anything.

He did not tim In nineteen ninety nine to Pro Bowl in Honolulu, NFC won that game fifty one to thirty one. Randy Moss was the MVP. The next two years, AFC won the game thirty eight seventeen and thirty eight thirty and v sends. Rich Gannon was the MVP of back to back years. He went back to back as the MVP at the Pro Bowl.

By the way, I believe it was twenty years ago today that Peyton Manning, being interviewed on this sidelines, called Mike Vanderjack his idiot kicker. So a very infamous moment there. Idiot Kicker sixty eight sixty seven fun one going on at Pinnacle Bank. The Nebraska Cornhook Huskers trying to hold on for dear life against Illinois. They are four and a half point dogs at pre flop right now, Nebraska minus one and a half. Will they get it done against the ALIGNI will keep it updated and we'll go through the Friday College Hoops card. On the other side, it is vsin primetime.

This is VSA primetime on vsin the Sports Betty Network.

Oh boy, there's some sweats going on. If you took the dog in Lincoln seventy to seventy, Matt humans Eli Herskovic, who joined the program last hour, good college hoops handalysts, Nebraska is the right side, there is no doubt. But you are right now if you're a Nebraska backer, you're hoping that Illinois gets a bucket here seventy to seventy, eighteen seconds to go the align. I have the ball, no shot clock, and you are hoping desperately for no overtime. If that is the case here in a seventy seventy game.

Yeah, this is about the worst case scenario for you if you've bet Nebraska, because Illinois is going to run the shot clock. They're going to run the clock down. YEP. And they're going to take a shot late in the clock, it's probably not going to be a great shot because they're going to be too busy trying to run the clock down. Then you go to overtime, and when you go to overtime with the underdog, you're in trouble. Nebraska's basically led this game wire to wire. I can't recall Illinois leading unless it was in the first few minutes of the game.

I don't believe they did. I'll double check that. But it was forty to thirty one at halftime. You could have laid Illinois five and a half in the second half, which would have equated to plus four and a half for the game. And I asked Eli, Hey, we're going to try to middle this. He said, no, I'm going to roll with what we've got. And you know, sometimes the games you don't try to middle doesn't come home. So final seconds.

Oh, by the way, Nebraska's only got three team fouls.

Yeah, so they're going to start fouling here. By the way, while we wait on this, I asked you, I'm like, is Fred Hoiberg on the hot seat here? I can't believe it, But this is year six for him in Lincoln. He was at Iowa State for less time when he was deemed the mayor as he took that program to four straight NCUBA Tournament appearances. He ultimately left, went to the Chicago Bulls that did not work out, and coming back to Nebraska, he got them to the NCUBA Tournament last year. So I would guess and Britton Hess if you're watching, I don't think Fred Hoiberg would be on the hot seat here after making to the NCAA tournament a year ago. But man, this would be a crushing loss if they were to lose this here. So final seconds of regulation, another foul here for the corn Huskers, So they're going to play this one out.

UCLA one more foul to give than five point nine seconds on the clock, So you got to think that they're probably going to run two more seconds off the clock before the Nebraska fouls for the final time before getting into the bonus. So here we go with the inbounds. Oh is that a steal? Almost a steal? Only nine tenths of a second run off the clock, So five seconds to go and we'll see where this one goes from here.

UCLA out to a three to nothing lead over Oregon. So that game underway, the triple header of Big ten hoops here as Penn State got crushed by Ohio State earlier tonight. So five seconds to go, and this is a pretty terrible possession. Oh, we're going to over time. Not what you want.

Let's have a fadeaway three pointer from the corner and it was actually almost got it, we say halfway down it looked like it rimmed out. Let's put it that way, and the Nebraska going to ot. I wonder what Eli Hirschuemitz is a second right now? Four and a half point dog going to overtime. I wish him well, wish him the best I do too. Yeah, Nebraska deserves to, if not win this game, at least cover the games.

Illinois has not led for a second in this game.

Is that right?

It has been Nebraska wire to wire in this one. It was tied at twenty and it looks like as they roll through it. No, they never had the lead in this game. It is now seventy to seventy going to overtime. Man, this is some of the pain that you have betting college hoops. As once again Nebraska went off as a four and a half point home Dog have led the entire game, have obviously been covering the entire game, and now you're onto overtime. Matt tied at seventy overtime where the dog often goes to die. And right now Illinois minus a dollar seventy five in game at Draft.

Gis, I would agree with that. I think the four and a half point favorite. It's got to be at least a buck thirty. Actually Minus won sixty at DraftKings right now. It's about a week ago at this time ten when I had ole Miss on the money line. He gets Texas A and M. Remember that game. Rebels led wire to wire. They never trailed in the game until the final possession. Ole Miss missed a free throw in Texas A and M hit a three to win the game. And those hurt the most when you lead the whole way and blow it at the end. And that could happen to Nebraska here tonight.

Other ranked team in action right now, Memphis up fifty one to forty eight ont lane. That has been a two lane cover for the most of the contest. They were up twenty six to twenty year in game number there Memphis Land four and a half they went off the Tigers as a five and a half point favorite, so overtime underway. They're in Lincoln, Nebraska, as the Cornhuskers have led the entire game as a four and a half point dog, and we'll see, hopefully, for the sake of our friend Eli Herskovich, it is not a situation where the dog goes to die in overtime. Tomorrow, Matt, you'll be on the air here with JBT breaking things down and getting ready for a loaded Saturday slate. Just a reminder, I'll be on the air starting at ten am Eastern Time with the newly named Vsin Weekend Morning Line. I'll be doing Saturday and Sundays moving forward from ten am to one pm Eastern, except for Super Bowl Sunday, that is when we will get our final installment of the Vsin Pro Football Tailgate show with Rich Cannon and Stormy Bond of Tony. So tomorrow, Matt, there is one big ten game, and you know this conference quite well. Indiana at Purdue. We discussed this game briefly with Eli Hirskovic. He did not have a play on this one. Could you be intrigued by the dog Indiana catching twelve at Macki Arena tomorrow night A eight Eastern tip off.

At twelve and a half a DraftKings. Actually number is a bit higher. What did can Palm make this game? Because I thought the number is going to come out in nine and a half or ten at twelve. You know in this rivalry, I know Perdue won both games by twenty points last year, but Purdue was better last year. Indiana was probably worse. You don't see a lot of blowouts in the Purdue Indiana rivalry. Actually leaning towards taking the twelve at the way the Hoosiers lost last week to Maryland. Tim you watched the game, Indiana was up five with just over two minutes to go and Mike Woodson didn't play his cards right down the stretch. Hoosiers end up losing that game to Maryland. I think you're going to see Indiana come back and play really well because a lot of times when you have a lost season, and Indiana's looking at a lot of season, you're looking at potential spots where if you pick up an upset, you can get back on the NCAA tournament bubble, or it could kind of salvage your season. And if Indiana could go up. The Hoosiers can go up to Westlafayette and win this game. That's a huge win for them. So I actually think you're going to see a big effort from the Hoosiers tomorrow night. Purdue will most likely win the game, And like Eli Hirskovitz said, it might just be a case of produces defense wearing down Indiana and Purdue pulls away in the second half, wins by a big number, wins by double digits. But I would lean towards taking twelve. Actually that twelve and a half just disappeared at DraftKings.

I heard you talking about it.

I would lean towards taking the twelve with Indiana.

You ask what Ken Palm makes it twelve twelve, Bart Torvic makes it thirteen. So they're both right on that number. Seventy nine sixty seven. The projection for Ken it's crazy.

Indiana's got talent. Indiana really has talent, but Mike Woodson's a poor coach and they who have not put that puzzle together the season ten Omar Balows a guy who's got to have a big game for Indiana to have a.

Shot still to come. Tonight, we are underway. UCLA and Oregon. You've got two West Coast Conference games, actually not West Coast Conference games, two games from Western Coast conferences as the Big West as U see San Diego and Hawaii on the island. You see San Diego lay in seven and a half, and that one the Tritons, maybe the best team of that conference. Should be a fun one in that conference. And then in the whack you've got Grand Canyon lay in ten against Seattle, other power conference game. Tomorrow, you've got Butler at Georgetown. The Hoyas lay in three and a half consensus against the Butler Bulldogs at Cooley. Right now, they could really use a win. They got off to a great starting conference play. They beat Creighton, they beat Seaton Hall, they beat Xavier matt Since then, they have lost six of seven, including Saint John's holding them to forty one points. So you do wonder if maybe you get a little exercising the demons there for Georgetown against Butler. That modest squad comes into that one just nine and twelve on the year, and they lost at home on Tuesday to Marquette by nine. Loaded Saturday, Slate very much looking forward to it. You'll talk more about that tomorrow. You'll jump on my show on Saturday. We'll talk about it, but I think early lean for you. Chris Beard catching six is the projected number on the road, excuse me at home against Auburn.

Now, when I'm on your show Saturday morning, there's a very good shot I'm gonna be on the ole miss plus the points against Auburn in that big SEC game on Saturday, and probably Indiana plus the points. The twelve are better on tomorrow night. JB. T and I will talk some Pebble Beach golf on Friday show as well as we head into the weekend with a bunch of big names here at the top of the leaderboard at Pebble Beach.
