VSiN PrimeTime | Hour 2 | January 30, 2025

Published Jan 31, 2025, 2:25 AM

In this hour of VSiN PrimeTime, Tim Murray and Matt Youmans are joined by Derek Stevens and Wilbo. The guys discuss Circa Squares and some popular number combinations leading up to the Super Bowl.

This is vsin prime time live from the Circus Sportsbooking downtown of Las Vegas on VSON, the Sports Betty Network.

We keep it rolling here. It is vsin primetime on this Thursday evening, as we inch closer to Super Bowl fifty nine. I'm here inside our Circus studios. We've got Matt Newman's Wilbo and the owner of Circa and Circus Sports, Derek Stevens joining us right now. Quick update on where we sit for Ohio State Penn State. A ten point lead for the buck Eyes as we meaning me hope that Penn State does battle back here. But we're getting closer and closer to the Super Bowl. And the crew is here, well, two thirds of the crew as Banksy on assignment.

Who knows where banks he's at these days?

We do?

We know? Uh, he's in Michigan, Michigan.

Yeah, right, in Michigan.

All right, a little assign We've got Derek steve As, we got will Bow. We got the guys who are running things here, Matt humans as well. Gentlemen. It started on Monday. Here we go. The Circa squares are here. So, Derek, how has it been so far? What are we expecting from Monday to Super Bowl Sunday on the circa squares prop.

Well, it's been a pretty good start, I would say. I mean, uh, we've had We've had people buying here. I've seen them buying it. We're up in five states, so people are enjoying getting these squares. I mean, great, great Super Bowl gifts, great, great great things of your going to a party. I highly recommend you take a couple if you're going to go to a house party.

Well, I was gonna say, what's the best story, because I remember you telling me that. I want to say a bar owner came in here a couple of years ago and just bought every square. So is there any any stories that go along with the with the squares that the years have gone on.

Ye, it's a lot easier if you have a bar you do something. Yeah, you just buy every square. You know, it's not easier to keep track of all that. You know, you can put a mark up whatever you're doing, you know. But yeah, we had a lot of people that come in all by all one hundred for the game, or buy one hundred for the first quarter, second quarter, some pretty big long shots.

Obviously in the first quarter that.

Time to get to the full game, you know, it kind of evens out a little bit, but some of the first quarter stuff's pretty crazy.

Well, if you want five and five, Matt, five thousand to one at the end of the first quarter, probably not a good investment, but.

Yeah, you never know. I'm not going to play that with myself, Tim, but I'll let you take a shot.

That would be the longest shot right now. No, actually, five and two excuse me, two and five also five thousand to one there and two to two, which seems also pretty rare at the end of the first quarter. Actually, I was looking at the vsin Super Bowl guy, that is out now, and we all have our predictions in there. Little did I know Matt and myself exact same addictions. So maybe we should put in a square Matt on Eagles four, Chiefs three, and that would be plus forty eight to fifty.

Let's hit it.

Twenty four to twenty three was our prediction of Heels over the Chiefs.

Yeah, wow, okay, Yeah.

The Vson preseason betting guide, I picked Eagles over Chiefs as a Super Bowl result. The CIRCA exactive for that was fifty nine to one. Odds do you know if you took any play on that we did.

Oh, yeah, we certainly did.

When we went into we went into championship Sunday. Oh no, when we into the divisional, we had we had action on every combination at the Divisional. So no, the exact does have become very, very popular, So it should be. Yeah, exactly, we have about a six hundred and fifty thousand dollars variants I think between you know, one way or the other and how this thing plays out.

So you guys both pig Detroit Lions fans. I know, Derek, you were concerned about all the defensive injuries for Detroit at the towards the end of the season. You said, you're really concerned. Wilbo. Both you guys probably crushed the the Lions got knocked out, but not totally unexpected, right because of all the injuries. Did you say that?

Yeah, I still you know, the way they played against the Vikings, I think towards the end of the year, the last game of the season, it gave me more hope when it came down to the defense being able to stop that. What we all thought was, you know, a high scoring offense. Yeah, but still absolutely crushed and I talked about it last week.

It still hurts.

It still absolutely stings watching the game, watching the games. You know, it's funny because I'm even I'm even more mad. I was more mad watching the games last weekend, knowing the Lions should have absolutely be the Commanders when they were playing, you know, the Eagles just dominating the Commander's majority of the game.

That made me even more angry.

So, yeah, it's still strong. I expected to at least be in that game on Sunday, so you know, it's a bummer, but there's always next year.

I guess.

Well, as Lions fans, you haven't had many opportunities in your lifetime to get this close. Well, you guys were in San Francisco last year for the NFC Championship games.

Just bringing up all the positive memories, isn't he Derek who invited Matt.

I'm telling you, late in the first half of that Lions forty nine Ers game, the Lions are running the ball for seven or eight yards per clip, and I said, I don't know how the Lions are going to screw this up because if they keep unless it's going to be turnovers or big mistakes. The Lions should win this game the way they were running the ball and dominating the game on the ground, and they found a way to screw it up in the second half of ball.

You could say that the same thing about what after this year with the game against Washington.

Yeah, yeah, terrible.

So after the Lions are knocked out and Eagles move on to you guys, Derek, First of all, do you have an opinion? Do you have a side you like?

Oh?

Well, right now, you know we posted one and a half and we haven't moved from that, and we've had a great two way we haven't we haven't moved on our money line.

We're using an eighteen cent money line where one.

Twenty five to one oh seven have not moved and the one and a half point point spread we haven't moved.

We've had.

It's been really amazing how even it's been. I've never really experienced this like this so far.

I think it's going to be strong two way action on this game. What do you think? Well, Bo, do you have an opinion? Do you like a side?

You know what I think if it does move from what it is, uh, the Eagles, you know, go up to two. I would take the Eagles then, But yeah, I obviously definitely have Chiefs.

I'm just sick of the Chiefs.

So I would rather see the Eagles win. I'd rather see an NFC team win and not the Eagles. But you know, if it goes up a little bit, I hop on the Eagles.

Well, as we do every Thursday here on this program, we always give out the first touchdown scorer Jalen Hurts being in this game, Wilbo, is this the biggest bet of your year to go Jalen Hurts?

Have we moved off of this?

So your opener was Jalen Hurts plus six thirty five to score the games first touchdown Here at circin, I would imagine that's gonna get a decent amount of action. He is the second shortest odds only behind Sakuon Barkley has scored the games first touchdown.

Well, you know what's funny about this about the Super Bowl and betting quarterbacks to score the first touchdown is that's how I got the start of always doing it. Yeah, it was Mahomes against forty nine ers. So whatever year, whatever year that was at twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen, that was.

The twenty nineteen, twenty twenty Super Bowl right before COVID, So.

There's I mean, for the Super Bowl, I always bet the quarterbacks to score the first touchdown.

I do that for every primetime game.

And I always bet the game goes in overtime. So I catched that last year as well. But yeah, no, I'll be betting both quarterbacks for sure to score the first touchdown.

You know, Derek, I'm curious.

You know, from a bookmaking standpoint, it's.

Thursday, so plenty of time.

Super Bowl is a national holiday here in Las Vegas is so enormous when you look at the total right now, you guys did go off of forty nine and a half. The market now sits at forty nine. Do you anticipate this to be two way or do you think ultimately you'll be cheering for the under in this game.

I think we'll be cheering for the under in the game.

I just think there's too much retail action where people are.

Going to make the over.

Did you say we moved to forty nine?

You opened forty nine and a half. I believe that at.

Forty nine, briefly went to fifty yeah nine, Okay, we're at forty nine.

Yeah, I got a hard time.

Believe, and this thing goes much lower just because there's going to be too much, too much retail money on over right.

And we were just looking over at Visa dot com our betting splits right now, and it's so early, and as Matt was mentioning, all the people are going to start coming into town, you know, a week from now, starting to file in at that book back there. But I think eighty three percent of bets already on the over, which shouldn't come as a big surprise. So I would imagine you guys will be pretty big underfans come kick off at the super Bowl.

Yeah, I would bet you know, talking about coming back coming into town next week. Yeah, you and Tyler and you guys got a big assignment. We got a bigg assignment next week. They gotta go to waste management open.

Oh it's tough.

Yeah, I mean, you gotta do it, right, You have to.

You got to go this.

This is like this is mandated by CIRCA.

You know, it's just like training. You have to go down there.

Yeah.

Honestly, last year was the only year and I think probably the past five years that I haven't gone through the absolute gauntlet, which is get into Scottsdale on Monday, go to the Waste Management pro am Tuesday, practice round Wednesday, fly home Thursday, then at super Bowl Week in Las Vegas Thursday, all the way through Sunday. So I'm excited to get back to Scottsdale. I never leave, I never come back the same way, you know, but it's always worth it. It's always fun and you make a lot of good connections out.

So say you say you like that schedule going on Monday and coming back Thursday, as I like just saw the flight flight schedule. You're leaving Monday and you're coming back Thursday. Yo, oh yeah, yeah, okay, oh I know the schedule. Oh yeah, I was talking to GV and see what the what the schedule was, So you know, it makes completely So they're gonna bring all these people back from scotts Still to coming back to the super.

Bowl, hopefully with some flushed pockets after maybe hitting the first round leader.

So yeah, you absolutely, we gotta we gotta.

Talk more about this waste management open situa. Are you gonna be Are you gonna be rare and to go next Thursday? You're gonna be back in time for this hit.

Absolutely super Bowl hit.

This is a bit, this is a big one.

Oh yeah, I mean I might be rolling right in from the airport right onto the show, but yeah, I'll be here.

For it all right.

We got more to get to with the crew here Banksy on assignment. Just a reminder, this segment of East In Primetime brought to you by our friends over at winners Circle Proxy NITA contest Proxy. You can trust the experienced team at winner Circle Proxy vsin's preferred proxy partner. Find out more at winners Circle proxy dot com. So super Bowl getting ready. We got college hoops going on. Good lord, seventy six to forty four Lakers up on the Washington Wizards right now. Is the Wizards, proud winners of zero of their last fifteen games, and the Lakers putting it on all right, much more with Derek Stevens Wilbo. They are the crew. It is VSIN Primetime. Come on back here on VSNB Sports Betty Network.

This is VSI Primetime on the Sports Betty Network.

Keep it rolling here on a Thursday evening. We've got some big ten hoops about to get underway. At the bottom of the hour, Illinois at Nebraska Ohio State is pulling away.

Here from Penn State unfortunately Matt Newman.

So it does not look like my pre flop position nor my halftime position will come home here for the Nitney Lions, as Ohio State looks like they will get this victory sixty five to fifty. We've got the crew in the house, two thirds of the crew, Banksy on assignment Derek Stevens, owner CEO of Circa and Circa Sports. We got Wilbo here as well, Derek. Prop bets for the Super Bowl. When you think about where we are and where we came from, where you came from, from a handle standpoint where this all started, what would you guess your expected prop handle versus is just side and total handle will.

Be for Super Bowl fifty nine.

For Circus Sports.

Yeah, you know, we're probably gonna have a much higher percentage than probably any other sportsbook you talk talk about that are going to be that's going to say, Okay, we're taking money on the side, the total of the money lane. Yeah, that's going to be a very strong majority for us, where I think other sports books, I would tend to think you might have eighty percent of the of the dollars on prop bets. Really, we're going to be eighty percent.

The other way, you think.

So, yeah, Well, just because I know we're gonna we're going to get hammered with a lot of one hundred thousand dollars, two hundred thousand dollars and you know, more plays. We've had a couple of guys calling in talking about can they get a million down on the side. So, I mean, so I think you know, it takes an awful lot of awful lot of fifty dollars my home's over bets to make up for.

One of those.

What do you I mean, so you've already heard through the through the grapevine that some seven figure bets could be coming in to CIRCA for the Super Bowl.

Oh, I think I think you're gonna see You're gonna see a lot of seven figure bets around the country. Yeah, I think I think the thought of a seven figure bet. You know, when you remember way back when Bob Stupak wasn't it Matt Bob Stupak made that million dollar bet a long time ago.

It was one of the most hyped one million dollar bets.

Yeah, he walked down to uh Little Caesars over at Gene May Day's place, right made that bet? Yeah, it was like, but a million dollar bet back then? When do you think that was like nineteen ninety or something like that.

Yeah, I was gonna say that's I had to be early nineties. That was a long time ago.

Yeah, so when that happened, I mean that was big news, national news. Somebody actually been a million dollars, you know. But uh, I don't think it's that rare anymore. You know, inflations can come in. I think you're to see I think you're going to see more million dollar bets this year than you've ever had.

Do you think that two teams playing in it and this point spread being as tight as it is entices more people to bet those big wagers or is it just where we've come as a sports betting landscape that the million dollar bets are just becoming more kind of every day?

Yeah?

I think you know, if you neutralize for star power, if you knew, if you if you neutralize for the city and fan base and you only look at a point spread when you've got when you've got.

Very high point spreads, you are going to reduce your handle.

This game though it has it has star power, it has.

A great amount of star power. Power actually it.

Has star power outside of football again, because I know there's an element of Chiefs fatigue out there. But to be honest, if it wasn't for the Chiefs and Travis Kelcey, and I put Travis Kelcey is being more important than Mahomes because of Taylor Swift. It broadens the broadens the interest level that you're gonna get a lot of a lot, a lot of action because of the Chiefs and because really because of Kelsey and his girlfriend.

Who's his girlfriend? I'm about keeping up with that.

Yeah, it's probably better, It's probably better keep your nose the grinde.

You should have heard last night.

I was sitting here.

JVT was in and you know, we have the rotation here on primetime, and he's going through the possibility of who Ken what Kenjack Lamar's songs are gonna be like? And I'm just sitting here going if humans was sitting next to you right now.

I was, by the way, I was listening to Serious XM channel one fifty eight on the way home and I heard this bit that you did with JVT, and I was like, what is JVT doing?

Is he really liked it, like, yeah, time, yes, he did.

He really study up on thisvable.

He's a lot He's certainly a lot more hip than me, which isn't that hard to do. But as he went into it, I was like, I don't know any of these songs that you're talking about. He was giving nuanced But so let me ask you this. As you know, once again, we are on serious XM one fifty eight. So we're getting new folks tuning into us and may not be as familiar as to the regulations here in the state.

Of Nevada and across the country.

So someone might be rolling up to a circus sports book in Colorado or opening up there app in Illinois and want to bet, Hey, I want to bet Gatorade color I want to bet. I want to bet Kendrick Lamar songs.

None of those are available.

So, as a legal sportsbook operator, what are some of the things you cannot place have wagers on?

Great question, complicated questions, and it is it is jurisdictional. In the answer, what you can book in Nevada is different than when you can book in Colorado? What a different what you book at Illinois or Kentucky? Things like that. I would say. Nevada I considered still kind of as the gold standard here, and there's a number of wagers you cannot bet in Nevada. You cannot bet on the oscars, you cannot bet on the length of the national anthem, you cannot bet on the color of the Gator eighty kid. You can't bet on something that doesn't have a league and a governing body that is known published all that, So you have to have an event. Every other state's a little bit different on what they interpret. So for example, in Nevada, there there's someone near and dear to our heart by the name of George Say. George Say is a very famous man. Every July fourth sure with the.

Hot dog eating contest, you know, and he's done here.

I mean, we had.

George Jay come out here our grando. Yeah, so we love George Shay and friend of friend of circum. Yet in Nevada we cannot you cannot bet on the hot dog eating contest.

But in Colorado we book it.

You know, in Colorado, we booked it every year since we would open there. So it's really jurisdictional. So for the listeners, it really depends what state you're betting.

All right, So it's thirty five years ago Bob Stupak Casino bet the million dollars on the Bengals plus seven against the forty nine Ers nineteen ninety. Recall the game, uh no, a little before much time. Joe Montana led the touchdown drive and.

At the candy drive.

Yes, yes, Niners won the game twenty to sixteen. So Stupak won the bet, and he said, I sweated that thing out the whole way.

So that was that was wait, that was the game. That was the game that the Bengals running back got arrested the night before, right, Stanley what was his name?

Oh? Yeah, Stanley? No, no, no, no, yes?

And then his Sun played is sun played in the in the NFL for quite a while.

Yeah, that's not in this story about Bob Stupak, but I do kind of recall what you're talking about. Have to look that up. But yeah, thirty five years ago, Stanley Wilson was.

There, were going back, right, Yeah, yeah, there you go.

How many million dollar bets do you think you'll take, because it's probably gonna be way you think ten to fifteen in Vegas?

You know, I don't know, we've only taken we've only taken a few here. Ever, I hope it takes a few more so I don't know. But that's that's that's really hard to predict, you know, because you never know, you know where somebody's coming in, who they've got a relationship with, who, who who they feel comfortable going to, if they if they worked out a deal. You know, you can't really walk up to, you know, a local book with a bag of cash about the million. You kind of got to know a couple of people, right.

That's why Lobo is going down to Scotts Hill.

To come in here.

Man, we gotta we still got a lot to get to. I want to talk to March Madness with you guys here and just uh and just a little bit. I'm trying to remember if we have Yeah, well we.

Got I got a question here.

Our biggest play of the day is we get we need Penn State in the second half. We need Penn State laying five points in the second half.

Me too, Derek, me too.

Ohio States will put them in the second they're at the line, they're up by they're up, they're up twenty seven to twenty in the second half, and we're laying five What is going on with this Penn State team.

So last year, I'll give you a little uh little runner run back here. So last year Penn State they're playing in what they call Rec Hall.

It's this small.

Barn, this used to be their court. It's only about sixty five hundred there. And last year they played Illinois in here and they pulled off the upset in overtime.

They stormed the court. And this is the.

One game this season they are playing inside Rec Hall. So I was like, oh, this is a good spot for Penn State. It back to Nitney Lions.

They're down ten and half.

I jump back in and this is not going very well. It is all Ohio State sixty nine, two fifty three. But Derek from just a transition real quickly. College hoops, so many games going on. How has the handle been overall this year for college basketball for you guys here at CIRCA.

Well, it's been pretty good. I mean everything with college basketball is great, leading into leading into March bandness. This is gonna be the biggest March bandness we've ever seen.

Well, when I were just talking about.

At the break, for all the reasons, all the stars are aligning. This has now become such a basketball town. And the March Bandness residervations and bookings are well.

Ahead of last year, which is the biggest we've ever seen.

All Right, we'll dive into that a little bit more. Some of the biggest weekends of the year. We've got Super Bowl right around the corner. March Madness will be just what five weeks after super Bowl weekend. So we'll dive into all the things you need to know regarding circus, circus sports, everything you need to know.

And one more segment. What we got Derek No.

Got a meeting, man, I've got Bill Hady to meet you.

Gotta go to work, all right, Derek Stevens Wilbo. They're getting out of here. We'll talk some college us. So on the other side, that's Matt Humans. I'm Tim Murray.

It is v SIN Primetime.

This is v SENT Primetime on v SIN the Sports Betty Network.

You know, Matt Humans is over here handicapping the dodgeball competition at the Pro Bowl Games right now. Man, you are, You're You're hot.

You've been all over.

Who's going to win the dodgeball NFC AFC Showdown and who will have the strongest Spike as well.

I'll tell you what, I'd rather watch Angel Reese in a layup drill then I would watch this. Uh, these Pro Bowl games? Ky, this is so sad what's happened with Pro Bowl?

But when let me ask you this, because you know everyone, oh what used to be?

When was the Pro Bowl ever good?

It was good back when the Pro Bowl was in Hawaii and they actually played it like it was a game. Believe it or not, Tim, We used to bet the Pro Bowl. We used to watch it, and it was a pretty big event. And this back when they actually tried to tackle. They treated it as a game. I'll tell you, like the eighties and nineties, it kind of faded a little bit in early two thousands, but those of us who grew up with the Pro Bowl remember a distinctly different game than what you're watching. You know, even like ten years ago, the Pro Bowl used to be competitive. It used to be a pretty good event. And well, there were a lot of people who love the best Pro Bowl over every year, kind of like the NBA All Star Game. But it used to be a pretty cool deal. And believe me, did you ever go for the younger generation? I did not go to a I would watch it every year, but for the younger generation now you don't understand what it used to be like, and you think it's probably always a joke because it's a joke now, but it wasn't always a joke.

Well, it's like every year when everyone gets all fired up about the NBA All Star Game, I'm.

Like, well, I gave up on that.

What do you expect. It's an NBA All Star Game. You're gonna be shooting threes and throwing down dunks.

Adam Silver is now floating the idea of changing the NBA to forty minute games, And did you see some of these rule changes he threw out.

The only one I saw was the possibility of maybe ten minute quarters.

Yeah, that's what said forty minute games and some changes to free throw rules and some other things. And you don't want to turn this into a gimmick. You don't want to mess too much with something that works. Like I think forty eight minute games are fine. I don't like eighty two game seasons, and I think that's where if the NBA wanted to change, and they're not going to do that obviously because of the revenue. An eighty two game season creates. But don't you think the games are not too long themselves? Of forty eight minutes? I think the season's too long at eighty two games, don't you.

Yeah, I think eighty two games is too long for a season. Look, and I've I've talked to JVT about this. NBA playoffs is honestly one of the best products.

We have in sports. I love the NBA playoffs. High intensity.

Now, look, sometimes you're going to get the yo yo, and you get some blowouts. But as someone who played the sport not at nearly the level that is NBA or D one level.

But I love watching NBA playoffs.

I love betting NBA playoffs, and JVT and Kelly and Zach, some of our finest minds here at the network, love betting it. From a regular season standpoint, I know I'm gonna make a mockery myself because I bet this Ohio State Penn State game. I look like an absolute buffoon. But I don't know how you bet NBA regular season on a regular basis. There are gonna be some situational spots, certainly, and I know, like JVT had a great night last night. From a betting standpoint, but yeah, would I wouldn't mind seeing it pared down to a seventy two game schedule. I know it'll never happen, but I wouldn't mind that.

That's probably not gonna happen. I just don't like Adam Silver's suggestion of going to forty minute games. NBA is a forty eight minute game. It always has been. That would change so many things, by the way, with records with oh yeah, think about totals, how totals would change and NBA games wuld go if you take eight minutes off the game. But I think you ankering with it too much. Kind of like the NFL Competition Committee tim every offseason they have to get together and add like five new rules to the book to make the game more complicated.

Seventy eight to sixty right now, the score and recall it's over.

It's over for quite a while.

It's been over.

I don't know what's happened to this Penn State team at the betting market. Like Penn State it was two to two and a half overnight, close three and a half, and it's been all buck guys. Seventy eight to sixty with four minutes ago.

Yeah, Ohio State going to get a very nice win here this evening and poor performance from my guy Mike Rhodes there at Penn State, as this will be the third straight win for the Buckeyes. So I'll tell you what right now, Jake Diebler squad is starting to pull together some wins here as they have now after a three game losing streak, including a home loss to Indiana, they have now turned it around. They beat Purdue on the road as they believe a double digit dog in that spot, then they beat Iowa at home, smashed them earlier this week, and now a pretty nice win here for Penn State. And what's going to be interesting, Matt, what will the number be on Sunday when Ohio State goes to Champagne to take on Illinois.

We're about to see.

Illinois hit the floor here in just a matter of moments as well. So the ALIGNI a team that power rated pretty highly. Do they come out and do they get a win over Nebraska over our shoulder here at circa that number just ticked down to four. So a little bit of late money coming in at least at circa on Nebraska night still could get a five out there. If you have access to the South point four and a half the consensus number on this one. But Nebraska, who is lost six straight, trying to snap that skid as they host Illinois here tonight, and they are a four and a half point dog Fred Hoiberg squad. The last time they were at home, they were a six point favorite against USC, and I don't want to say they didn't have a shot in that one, but it wasn't really impressive to see Nebraska's performance there against the USC Trojans, as USC won that game seventy eight to seventy three.

By the way, speaking of the Pro Bowl, back in the say the eighties, the NFC team had I remember one NFC team that had Eric Dickerson and Walder Payton as running backs. See, you're not going to find anything resembling what the old Pro Bowl was like in the past fifteen or twenty years. But believe me, Tim, in the eighties and in the nineties, the Pro Bowl was actually a pretty cool event. I'm not even sure what this crap is or trying to pull off tonight. We've been watching it a little bit off a side screen. They had Peyton and Eli Manning out there trying to be cheerleaders.

Think they're the coaches, are they?

But there wasn't a game.

It was like the events. I don't know what the hell was going on.

Pro Bowl events. I don't know what's happened, but obviously it's got the point where no players want a risk injury. And I understand that. So the the Pro Bowl is never gonna come back. It's it's gone, tim and they need to get back.

I can to get back out to Hawaii though. We need to.

We need to get a Loha stadium rebuilt. You need to get the Pro Bowl back out there.

Trying to get a Loha stadium rebuilt by twenty twenty eight, That's what I've heard.

Really, we'll see.

I'll take the I'll take the over on that job. I've how many games have you been to it a Loha stadium?

A few?

Yeah, I've been to one.

I would like to go back.

I like Aha Stadium.

I need to get back out there. Need a need to go hang out with our guy, Timmy Chang. Hopefully we have a they open up the season Week zero against Stanford out on the island.

Maybe yeah, have to go maybe a.

Little Vsen road trip out there to see the Cardinal and the Rainbow Warriors.

It sounds good to me.

Let's book the trip, Let's make it happen there.

I don't even turn this game off, just you disgust me.

Penn State, but Ohio State a tournament team right now, so we'll see how.

High State's got some good wins on his resume. The win at Purdue probably the best one, but also beat Kentucky by twenty on a neutral Yeah, that was an eye opener to me when I saw the Buckeys blow out Kentucky. So well, this team does have a pretty good potential. And this is another you know, even though Penn State is near at the bottom of the Big Ten, this is a pretty impressive win tonight, Tim to go on the road to wreck Hall and win a game by almost twenty.

By the way, Matt, you know what's going on right now? The East West Shrine game at at and T Stadium, one of the All Star games and All Star festivities for college seniors heading off to the NFL. Scoreless right now in the second quarter of that one, and in many people's eyes, probably.

The number two game.

Even though Shador Sanders not playing, He's there for the festivities in that one. We did see some movement today in the betting market on the number one overall pick as we watch Penn State Abdul Carter taking some money there. It feels like no one has any idea. I feel like, if you play your cards right for the NFL Draft this year, you're going to be able to get a plus price on cam Ward, Travis Hunter, abdual Carter, Shador Sanders. You can get probably pretty good prices on all of that. We have no idea what Tennessee Titans, the Titans the Titans are going to do.

I would not bet on Shador to be the number one pick.

I doesn't seem likely.

I think it's going to be Travis Hunter or or abdual Carter. I think, you know, unless the Titans trade to pick. And that's why it's kind of risky betting that at this point it's possible to Titans with trade to pick and move down to number two, number three. Who knows. I don't see a quarterback in this draft who's worthy of the number one overall pick. If I were picking number one, tim probably be Travis Hunter.

How about you, I would probably go abdual Carter. I just think you can change.

I think it's kind of a coin flip between those two.

You can change the game so many ways with an edge rusher, elite edge rusher, But if you have a lockdown corner like Travis Hunter, who could play some gadget on the offensive side. I mean, Travis Hunters certainly is a bit of a unicorn. And the last guy we saw similarly, Charles Woodson. Think you had a decent career ended up in Canton, So pretty decent career there for Charles Woodson.

All right, folks, just a reminder.

This is VSA primetime on VS in the Sports Betting Network.

It is VS in primetime here on a Thursday evening from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas. I already heard from Derek Stevens and Jeff Sherman on what is expected behind the counter for Super Bowl fifty nine.

Matt.

Right now, one and a half is the spread. Kansas City lay in that one and a half total forty nine, so a little bit of under money to move the market. But as we've talked about quite a bit, the anticipation and expectation is that this thing will see plenty of over money, and just Jeff Sherman and Derek Stevens both kind of saying the same thing that the belief will be plenty of over money will come in, but probably some pretty good two way action on Chiefs and Eagles, second time in three years.

Matt.

I know there's been a lot of people who are not looking forward to this matchup.

I am very much looking forward to this.

I think two years ago we saw an instant classic between these two teams, and I expect we'll get it again. My prediction in the Super Bowl Guide same as yours, believe it or not, twenty four to twenty three.

We did not talk about that.

We did not.

I sent it to Adam Burke on Tuesday night and said, twenty four to twenty three, I lean under and I think I'm gonna get to the window.

Haven't done it yet on the Eagles.

I think ultimately I will be on the Eagles here, and you know, maybe I'll I'll take them on a teaser and just hold it over till September of Maybe I'll play it in the Stanford Hawaii game Week zero of college football.

Now I will.

I think I'll ultimately be on the Eagles. Have you bet this game yet?

Because I've got the Eagles sixteen to one on a future.

So there's no real need.

If you think the Eagles, will you hedge it?

Oh yeah? But what I'm gonna do is I bet it where I want to win both bets. So if you remember the first Super Bowl between these teams two years ago, oh yeah, Eagles led by ten at halftime, Patrick Mahomes limped off the field. Looked like Chiefs are in big trouble, right Mahomes, He's got a bad ankle. He's not going to be himself in the second half half, Eagles up by ten and we've seen Mahomes kind of play possum with that ankle issue several times. He comes back out in the second half, he makes the game deciding play on a scramble. His ankle turned out to be fine, and the Chiefs come back to win the game thirty eight to thirty five. Ye also had a key call defensive holding penalty to win against Philadelphia to set up the winning field goal in that game. But the point here is that I think you're gonna have a back and forth type of game. Eagles are probably not going to trail wire to wire. So if I get the Eagles sixteen to one on a preseason ticket, I want to bet the Chiefs live at plus three or better. Really, I want to get plus three and a half, four, four and a half, something like that. I don't want to just take three, but I might have to take three, just depending on how the game unfolds. I think the Eagles. We've seen the Chiefs fall behind in a lot of games ten and if they fall behind in this game, it's going to set up a great opportunity for me to take KC live at plus three or better and sitting on that sixteen to one ticket with Philadelphia, and you want to catch both. I always try when I'm hedging, trying to give yourself an opportunity to catch both and not just you know, fritter away some of your profits, which there's no there's no sense in really for me making a pregame bet here. You know, what, are you going to lay KC minus won twenty on the money line? I don't want to do that because if the Eagles are reading at any point in the game, I'm going to be able to get a better number on the Chiefs, and that's what I want.

Well, and you know, not the not apples to apples. But similarly, when we were sitting here on National Championship Monday, you didn't want to lay you know, minus two eighty Notre Dame goes down eighteen play touchdown drive and you were able to get Ohio State in game at minus one ninety and it never got any closer than that the whole way out, as as we know, thirty one straight for Ohios. So you found the right time to jump in and you had notre name what ten to one and twelve to one, so a perfect time to hedge. And yeah, it does feel like look I said this about the Chiefs Bills the game, and I'll say the same thing about this Eagles Chiefs game. And I don't think I'm being crazy and saying it.

I don't expect this to be a blowout.

I mean, we've been really lucky. I feel like with these Super Bowls, these resting handfull.

Of years have been really good games.

I mean, you think about Bengals and Rams, you know, Chiefs and forty nine ers last year going to overtime, Chiefs and Eagles. As you alluded to that, Eagles had a significant lead at the half. So yeah, I think this is going to be another classic, and I think ultimately I'm going to get down on the Eagles. Funny enough, two years ago, Chiefs were plus two. I had Chiefs plus two in pocket, I had Patrick Mahomes win MVP. It was a very profitable super Bowl. Didn't feel that way at halftime. Ultimately gets there and now I'm gonna flip it a little bit.

It does.

It does feel like and I won't blame one single person. We had two people I respect on the program yesterday, Mike Randall David Barman both ride it with the Chiefs. I understand it I do too. But for me, I think when you look at the full fifty three, I trust this Eagles team a little bit more.

I think they're a little bit better now.

I would say Cam Jurgen's injury there at center makes me a little bit worried from an offensive standpoint. He battled through and then played his butt off in the NFC Championship game. But how banged up is he going to be? Is the two weeks going to help him out on this offensive line? But I think ultimately I'm going to be on the Philadelphia Eagles here, and I'll wait and see if we get a little bit better number than what's out there in the market.

I don't expect.

Matt much better than plus one ten plus one fifteen out there on the money line for the Eagles.

They never know Eagles. Yeah right, No, I agree with that. By the way, if the Eagles get up ten to nothing in the game, right, that's that's your spot to jump in on the Chiefs.

Absolutely.

I don't think Case is going to lead this game wire to wire, And that's what I'm talking about. So said. We've been on the air for eight Super Bowls, and two of those eight have gone to overtime. Only one of those eight Super Bowls decided by more than eleven points, and that was the blowout Tom Brady in the Bucks over Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs thirty one to nine and twenty twenty one. That was when the KC offensive line was a mess and Mahomes had no shot in that game. But yeah, if you think about the last eight Super Bowls, only one decided by more than eleven points. Tim been very competitive. I think I said this last week about the Bills Chiefs game. It's just every which way you look at it, it looks like it's going to be a one score game, right, So I was looking for the Bills to fall behind and take the Bills live betting, and I grabbed the Bills and plus five and a half plus six. They end up losing game by three. But the whole week I said, these are the types of games that the Chiefs always find a way to win and the Bills find a way to lose. So I was on KC to win the game, then took the points of Buffalo live here in this one. I'm not so sure the Chiefs are gonna find a way to win this one. I like the Eagles chances here, but I do want to back KC live at a plus price.

So there's been so much correlation in these past couple of years. And I know Cooper Cup ultimately won Super Bowl MVP a couple of years ago for the Rams, even though it should have been Aaron Donald. But that's beside the point. Still on air here at vsen I was up. We were doing the postgame show, a top stadium swim. I go on the air, Matt, I'm thinking Aaron Donald's gonna win MVP. I've got an Aaron Donald ticket in the back pocket to win MVP, and Cooper Cup wins it. But you move on on tough beats like that. This one is fascinating to me because Patrick Mahomes, there's a clear correlation. Chiefs win Patrick Mahomes MVP, even though certainly some people think maybe it could be Travis Kelce with the Philadelphia Eagles. Your prediction was Saquad Barkley. Mine was akwon Barkley JVT. With Saquon Barkley, there is not a clear correlation which could lead to some kind of unique ways to bet this game from an MVP standpoint, Matt. Because for the Philadelphia Eagles. The MVP of their team this year was not their quarterback. It was their running back in Saquon Barkley.

You're right, and uh, I think there's gonna be a lot of action on Barkley.

He's down to plus two sixty at DraftKings right now. He is the second shot.

So if you like, I'm actually checking out his rushing yards, proply how about this, If you like Barkley to rush for more than one hundred and thirty yards in the game and get that a plus one sixty, would.

You rather bet that or would you rather bet him a plus two sixty to win MVP?

Well, I am going to bet him to win MVP. But there's three to one out there too. I've seen plus three hundred in the market, so you do have to shop around. You're going to find different prices. The Patrick Mahomes MVP prop was plus one ten plus one oh five right here at Circle right now, plus one twenty. Yeah, I think that's the best price you're going to find if you got draftings. Yeah, if you like Mahomes to win MVP, that plus one twenty I think is the best price you're going to find. So you all right.

So when it comes to the Chiefs one and a half point favorite, we'll call them minus one twenty minus one twenty five on the money line. How if you're going to bet the Chiefs, is it a full unit on Chiefs, half unit on Patrick Mahomes or do you think there is a route to a Travis Kelcey, a Xavier Worthy Chris Jones. Is there anyone that can win MVP in your eyes outside of Patrick.

Mahomes that's always possible?

Well, I guess not anyone.

But let's say Chris Jones has three sacks, you know, or it comes up with a interception or a forced fumble, stripsack, who knows. By the way, you remember the last Super Bowl between these teams, Jalen Hurts got strip sacked and the Chiefs ran back for a touchdown. That was a huge play in.

The game, but Mahomes still won MVP.

Yeah, I would think that it's got to be Mahomes. I'm probably gonna put some sort of MVP bet on Mahomes two plus one twenty just because if the Chiefs win the game, don't you feel like it's.

A ninety plus percent seems likely.

Probability that he's going to be the MVP.
