In this hour of VSiN PrimeTime, Tim Murray and Matt Youmans preview tonight's college basketball action. Plus, Jeff Sherman joins the show to breakdown Super Bowl LIX odds and the total.

This is vsin prime Time, live from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas on VSON, the Sports Betty Network.

We are off and running on a Thursday evening here on VS in Primetime. Alongside Matt Ewmans, I'm Tim Murray. We're live from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. We've got college hoops underway right now, a big ten showdown, a game that many would love to see happen again in college football Penn State and Ohio State.

Is Penn State smirking.

There on the sidelines as they know that they have Jim Knowles on their sidelines coming in twenty twenty five, but they are taking going head to head right now in college hoops. A best bet for yours, truly. I took a little money line on the Penn State Nitney Lions as this game being played at Reck Hall, the former home of the Penn State Nitney Lyons. They played there last year for the first time in a handful of seasons. Matt, they upset Illinois in overtime ninety to eighty nine, and right now at the under eight media timeout, Ohio State with a twenty three to nineteen leads. We'll keep our eyes on that. Not a ton of great games. But I would say, Matt, as you and I were discussing prior to the show for our primetime game of the night, it wouldn't be typical, Matt humans if we didn't go late night. Number sixteen Oregon at Pauley Pavilion to take on UCLA. This game will tip off at ten thirty Eastern.

And right now.

The Bruins out to a four and a half point favorite over Dana Altman's Oregon Ducks.

Actually here at Circuit's four, but not much movement in this game overnight and or during the day. These teams met on Sunday, December eighth, at you Eugene, Oregon. I remember watching that game right here in the Circus sportsbook that and I had a bet on Oregon and lost.

UCLA won seventy three seventy one.

At that point, it looked like this UCLA team was gonna have a lot of problems, and I think Oregon turned out to be overrated. Remember Oregon got as high as number nine YEP in the AP poll and then lost four Actually, let's see Ucla. I'm gonna say, since Mick Cronin went on that rant about a lot of different things about his players being soft and the schedule is being stacked against the Bruins to travel.

Ucla has turned things around. The Bruins won four in a row.

They lost four in a row ten and now they've won four in a row with wins against Iowa, Wisconsin, Washington, and USC And the win against USC was I thought particularly impressive last week because UCLA's leading scorer was out in that game. I've had a hard time figuring out this UCLA team, and I ended up passing on tonight's game. It's one of those situations where conference revenge a lot of times. I like to play the team that lost the first time, and especially if that's the supposed better team. But I'm not sure Oregon is the better team. And one thing that Mick Cronan has done here to help turn things around, he started playing a Day Mara, the seven to three center, a lot more, and I thought he needed to do that. And Mara had twenty two points against Wisconsin last week, and he gives him a better rim defense. I just think more of a scoring presence in the paint, and that's made this UCLA team that s a little bit more dangerous here in the last couple of weeks. But McK cronin is a hell of a coach, so is Dana Altman. But when the Bruins lost four in a row, you wondered, how is this team going to react to the coach calling his players soft? And they actually reacted well, and they've toughened up.

Yeah, they've won four straight, as you alluded to, including a win over Iowa after their lengthy road trip where we played the clip. The following Saturday morning, after Iowa got smoked by UCLA, there was an Iowa reporter asking Mick Cronin about the Iowa travels and he laughed in the reporter's face, said, what are you talking about. I've seen the Statue of Liberty twice in the last handful of weeks. But a three out of four games on the road for UCLA, as Matt alluded to, a situation of questioning the toughness of his team.

But since then they've won four straight.

Haven't had the brutal travel schedule, as their two road trips were up to Seattle, Washington and then a trip across town to take on usc so A fun one tonight, ten thirty Eastern at Pauley Pavilion, Oregon. Right now four four and a half point underdog against UCLA. Another interesting game in the Big Ten tonight is Illinois taken on Nebraska. The ALIGNI a team that you and I at one point, Matt, you asked me who is the best team in the Big East, and I said Big Ten, And I said I think it's Illinois. Well I don't think so any more. But they did take care of business against Northwestern on Sunday eighty three to seventy four against the Purple Cats. They take on Nebraska tonight, a Nebraska team that is riding a six game losing streak, feeling like they are headed in the wrong direction. Last Wednesday Night, eight days ago, I took Nebraska laying six.

I put them in a money line parlay.

They lost the game outright loss is a six point favorite to USC so five or excuse me, six straight losses, including just an absolute annihilation at the hands of Wisconsin on Sunday eighty three.

To fifty five.

So we've got a four to four and a half point spread tonight between Illinois and Nebraska at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

At eight thirty eastern.

Yeah, you're talking about an Illinois team that went to Oregon and won one oh nine to seventy seven. And that's when Tim, I think we both started to say, whoo, this Illinois team might be the best in the Big Ten. And also what the hell is wrong with the Ducks? Uh So, Oregon has got four losses in conference play right now, so does UCLA. So it was Illinois, I would mean Illinois here. I think I think Brad Underwood's got a full deck playing with a full deck tonight, right, full strength, yes, and that that was a bit of a problem last week against Maryland when they and I were a little bit shorthanded in that game.

They got schooled.

They got run out of the gym by the Terps a week ago, and.

I was gonna let you pronounce it Maryland.

I tell you what. Maryland's a team on the rise in the Big Ten. I agree seven to four.

Person will win Last night too, coming back to beat Wisconsin trail by six.

We played it in game here on the program.

They come back, they not only win the game, they cover the pre flop spread as well.

Against Wisconsin.

I let's say lean Illinois did not play it. After last night's results in college basketball, which were subpar for me, let's put it that way, I decided to take tonight. I didn't have strong opinions tonight and the numbers were about where I thought they should be, So I didn't bet anything tonight.

And we have yeah, So that game coming up at eight thirty Eastern.

The only other ranked team in action the Memphis Tigers on the road taken on two Lane tonight.

Memphis a team that bounced back after I would.

Say some sluggish performances and on Sunday, as the market bet against them slightly, not a ton, but slightly against UAB, they went out and put up one hundred on the UAB Blazers of defending AAC champs. So Memphis sixteen and four they had on the road to take on TWU Lane. This is a game where we've actually seen a little bit of two lane money come into the market. This game tipping off at nine o'clock Eastern. This was as high as seven now down at five and a half for Memphis against TWU Lane. So we will see if the Memphis Tigers can keep it rolling after they won three in a row. But they did get a big cover against UAB SO three ranked teams in action, Illinois at Nebraska eight thirty Eastern, Illinois lay in four against the corn Huskers. Memphis at Tulane Markets, come in on TWU Lane a little bit from seven down to five and a half, and then our primetime game in the night ten thirty Eastern tip off at Pauley Pavilion. Ucla lay in four and a half against Oregon. As Matt alluded to on Sunday, December ninth, it was UCLA up in EUGENEUS three and a half point dogs winning that game outright. So those are your college hoop games featuring rank squads here this evening. And how dare I miss out on Hawaii hosting you see San Diego tonight, Matt humans, you'll love you some Hawaii Rainbow Warriors catching seven at home against you see San Diego.

I really can't figure out this Hawaii team, and overnight you could have grabbed eight with Hawaii. I decided to pass on that. I did lean to the home dog here, but you see San Diego's legit probably the best team in the conference. And I did not bet. I did not even bet the late game tonight, Tim, that's when you decided to take a day off, you have to stay committed to taking the day off, because when you don't have strong opinions and you just want to bet games for a while, want some action, that's typically when you lose. And that's no fun. That is not Fun's fun.

I would agree with that, and that's why sometimes in game betting is an important thing. Is thankfully for in game betting, I was able to salvage a little bit of what was a bit of a disaster.

Of a night and evening ago.

We took some in game positions on both Ole Miss in game as well as Maryland in game. But Old Miss didn't get there, of course, and neither did Santa Clara. That is a fun game we will talk about later on tonight, though, as we will get a great rivalry in college basketball late night on Saturday in Moraga as the Saint Mary's gails undefeated in West Coast Conference play. They will host the Zags and we'll start to see some of those numbers pop out. We've got a really intriguing Saturday slate of college hoops percolating there.

Matt, I think you're going to have a show to preview that I will.

Indeed, yes, VSIN Weekend Morning Line. We've got a new name to the program moving forward, Yes, seven am Pacific, ten am Eastern Time. You can catch me at ten am there on VSIN to help out break down those games from the NBA standpoint. Five games on the card tonight, including one at nine point thirty eastern Houston taking on Memphis. This would certainly be the most intriguing game from an NBA standpoint, as the Memphis Grizzlies take on the Houston Rockets. Memphis land three against the Houston Rockets here and also coming up momentarily, my beloved Washington Lizards and their fifteen game losing streak taking on the Los Angeles Lakers. Lakers open as a five and a half point dog, and they are now out to a nine excuse me, Lakers of is a five and a half point favorite. They are out to a nine point favorite there, that game tipping off momentarily there in the Nation's capital. A lot to get to today, Matt on the program, including a little recap of what we saw today out at Pebble Beach, not one but two aces out there on.

It's bad news for some betters who thought there were going to be no holes in one at Pebble Beach had two of them today. Jeff Sherman, Golf NBA oddsmaker at the Westgate super Book. You're going to join us here this hour. The Super Bowl props going up at the Westgate tonight at seven pm pacifics. We'll preview that with Jeff two.

Under four Media Timeout at Reck Hall on the campus of Penn State. In the Ohio State Buckeyes up thirty four to twenty five right now on the Nitney Lions You're liveline and that one Ohio State minus three and a half. They closed as the dog in this spot, catching three and a half, and they were around plus one point fifty or so pre flop on the money line. They are now minus two dollars, so Penn State has cut the deficit down to eight. As that is the lone Power Conference game going on right now.

I know a game that.

JVT is keeping a close eye on Doug Gottlieb's Green Bay Phoenix as they are down to Oakland right now, sixteen to fourteen. Green Bay I believe has lost sixteen of seventeen games. I believe last count there, they have yet to win a conference matchup there. So I'm sure JVT out there on his evening off keeping a very close eye on the green Bay Phoenix.

Well, Gottlieb had his team prepared tonight only down two. Yeah, there you go midway through the first half, so give him a.

Little bit too much credit.

By the way, they are currently riding a I believe seventeen game losing streak, so I said they had one in one in that moment.

But Ohio State, I'll tell you.

What, this is a team that is shooting the ball well. And you know what, maybe I should have taken after you and taken the evening off because Penn State last year, I remember betting them in this spot at rec Hall, a place that used to be there friendly confines. They've since moved to a much bigger barn there on campus, but not the case so far. They're gonna need to come back here in this spot against the n Penn State is going.

To be better in Big tim play right now in three and seven. If the Nitney Allons dropped this game, boy, they're in danger of missing a Big ten tournament. I think, what is it this year? Fifteen or fourteen or fifteen of the eighteen teams makes the Big Ten tournament?

Right.

I don't think Penn State's going to miss the conference tournament, but would be in danger if you dropped to three and eight tonight. And Tim, I liked your side. That's why I didn't bet it. I've not been on it. That's not a personal attack on you.

Well you didn't know it until you came in today.

I know.

I said I like Penn State, but I have not been on a good run in college hoops, so I said I got to take the day off. Things are just not I'm not seeing things right. And I thought Penn State playing a rec hall was going to be an advantage just in a cracker box, great atmosphere tonight should be a strong home court not playing out that way. Thirty eight twenty six Ohio State on top and wow, High State's flipped all the way to a seven and a half point favorite live at draftings.

And I believe a technical has just been called against Penn State. So things things turning up rosy here as Nick Kern junior gets a technical. Just to clarify you mentioned it. The top fifteen teams yes make the conference tournament, so the bottom three will not be a part of it.

Right now.

That would be Washington, Nebraska who is in action tonight against Illinois, and then Minnesota, Penn State, Rutgers or Minnesota. Penn stare a northwestern right now, all sitting at three and seven. Minnesota a team that has been very feisty as of late, and they didn't look the feistiest on Tuesday, but had a three game winning streak with wins over Michigan, Iowa, and Oregon. So got blown out by Michigan State over the weekend. We'll see if they bounce back. On Saturday. The Gophers head out to Seattle to take on Washington, who right now would be the worst team in the Big Ten at ten and ten and just one in eight in conference play.

Well, Washington Huskies actually have one of the best players in the league. Yeah, great oce Bor, big man transfer from Utah State. I think against Berdue he had twenty eight points and hit five of five threes and they still lost that game by eleven in Seattle. The Huskies are not that bad, but they're the worst team in the Big Ten right now. Guess what for those who forgot we're talking about Maryland being a team on the rise in the Big Ten. Washington beat Maryland up in Seattle. Think about that too, right.

Yeah, Maryland is turning things around.

I saw they had all the big wigs there. It was Scott van Pelt, Gary Williams all in attendance last night and a sold out crowd as Maryland came back from six to down in the second half and got a seventy six to sixty eight win. The Turps have now won four straight and six of seven. The lone loss during that stretch was a game that you and I actually had.

We had the.

Northwestern Purple Cats in that overtime victory for o sweat for Northwestern, easy winner, especially when we were told that Brooks Barnheiser had apparently had his leg amputated. That was the reports that were out there, but he played and had twenty points in that game.

Matt, I ask you here, do you think Penn State?

I think Penn State's got a rally at some point, and maybe it's midway through the second half, But would you be ten to take seven and a half at the Nidney Allons right now down thirteen? You know you're always going to make a run. I think the home team's always going to make a run. Tim, Is this where you think the value peaks at seven and a half? If you want to grab the points of Penn State.

At the free throw line under two minutes to go? Yeah, I think this could be a spot.

I mean, I'll say this, last night, I thought there was no shot on God's Green Earth that the West Virginia Mountaineers would show any life in the second half, and they almost they cut that deficit down to five against Houston. Ultimately didn't get there at the cover you and I both had, unfortunately West Virginia in that spot. But yeah, I would say, if you're looking to back Penn State and didn't get in pre frop flop pre flop, easy for me to say, Yeah, this could be the potential spot there as right now Ohio State five of thirteen from three and both teams actually believe it or not shooting decently. But we'll see if the Nidney Allons have been out rebounded by thirteen.

So far in this game to nine.

Now the live number is nine and a half, so seven and a half was not the peak. Ohio State's up forty three to twenty eight. Maybe you want to take nine and a half. Boy, I really thought Penn State was gonna play much better than this today. Yeah, there's a steal by the Buckeys and it's gonna be another bucket. Forty three, twenty eight to fifteen point lead with a minute to go in the first half last night, so West Virginia was down thirty nine nineteen at halftime to Houston, caught out to five, end up losing by fourteen. We got stuck with a loser with the Mountaineers plus nine. This from Jeff Borzello on Twitter. West Virginia shot fifty seven percent in the second half forty seven percent for the game, took more free throws in Houston, had fewer turnovers and more points off turnovers in Houston, had more fast break points than Houston, and still scored just forty nine points in a fourteen point loss.

Go figure that.

The Houston Cougar now nine to oher in Big Twelve play.

And it's funny. They came out to Vegas.

They had a loss to their name, which was a neutral site loss to Auburn. They lost in overtime to Alabama. They beat Notre Dame and then lost to San Diego State, and since then, Matt since the loss on November thirtieth, the Houston Cougars have not lost a game now that all being said, their best win is Kansas, which is a very good win on the road, and we saw that kind of crazy fashion that that happened. I don't even know how they won that game, but still they find a way to win it in double overtime. Outside of that, don't really have massive wins to their name.

That's why you see some.

Of these projections right now, and you know, where do you slot this team ultimately, But after that win last night, Houston moved up to number one in Ken Palm's ratings, so they jumped over a team that they had lost to earlier in the year Auburn.

By the way, I'm not buying Houston number one, are you?

No?

I just I've backed Houston.

I feel like in the futures market a handful of times this year, and it's always come back to bite me, whether it's the lack of offense or whatever.

It may be.

Like a size too, if they run into a team with really talented big they're gonna be in trouble. I said that last year too, when your biggest players are six to eight. Houston's a team. There are two teams, and nobody really wants to play in the tournament Houston and Tennessee, right.

Because defense, just defense.

It's going to be an ugly game. They're going to drag you into the mud and it's going to be no fun playing those type of teams. But I don't think Houston's got that high ceiling, that top end championship type potential that the team's like Auburn and Duke do.

Yeah.

And I think when you think back to last year's team, Matt when you had someone like Jamal Shed that you could rely on from an offensive standpoint. He gets hurt obviously in the sweet sixteen game against Duke. But this year you've got guys, But do you trust is someone like LJ. Cryer going to lead you to the finish line. We'll talk more futures chatter with Eli Hirskovich. He's going to join us later on the program. Coming up at nine to forty five Easterns One game. We're keeping a close eye on here final seconds of the first half. Ohio State as a road dog in a small barn tonight there rec Hall at Penn State. They have a twelve point lead and make it a ten point lead? Is a big dunk? Does that fire up the masses down there?

Good fire up to student section? So we got a ten point game headed to the half. Actually, I think Ohio State's going to call time out here forty three to thirty three and the live line, which peaked at nine and a half, now down to six and a half.

That's Matt Newmans. I'm Tim Murray.

We'll get you updated on the early NBA action nearing half Ohio State Penn State. Our game of the night tonight, Oregon at UCLA tips off ten thirty as the unranked UCLA Bruins lay in four and a half against sixteenth ranked Oregon.

This is VSAD primetime on vsi Z Sports Betty Network.

It is vis in prime time here on this Thursday evening.

We'll talk to Jeff Sherman. Coming up.

Busy day here in Las Vegas as the Westgates super Book will release their props got some of the props here from Circa already, the Circa squares.

Which we'll talk to Derek Stevens about.

They've got plenty of alt spreads already, as well as first touchdown props, so they'll start to trickle those out as we get closer and closer to Super Bowl fifty nine. Eagles and Chiefs. A big bet came out here in town here. We'll just mention that here in just a moment. I do want to mention this. I'm going to go down with the ship here. Give me the five and a half. Our friends over at Stations Casino have that as their live line right now. Penn State catching five and a half forty three thirty three the halftime score.

They're in Happy Valley.

And I have taken a halftime position on Penn State plus the five and a half. So we will see how this second half goes as that game right now, Ohio State leading by ten at the break. Ohio State closed around a three three and a half point dog against the Nitney Lions, and they have come out with a ten point lead. So a strong first half from Ohio State or a disappointing half, however you want to look at it.

There four Penn States.

In State's defense.

Gotta be a lot better than that forty three points allowed in the first half, and the betting market was on the Penn State side overnight. You could have laid two and some spots of Penn State closed three and a half. But the Nidney Allonts have not shown up here in the first half, so I do think that they're going to make a big run here in the second half. This live number got as high as nine and a half. You grabbed five and a half. Yes, yeah, I think DraftKings is sitting at four and a half right now, ten point halftime lead. This kind of feels like the Ohio State Penn State football game.

Oh God, let's not have a situation where I don't know what would be what would be the equivalent of not running the ball at the one yard line on first and goal from the one.

I don't missing a bunch of wayups the second half.

Let's hope that doesn't happen.

But yes, right now, market wide, you can get lay the four and a half with Penn State in the second half, which would equate to being plus five and a half for the game. So that is what I have bet here for the second half of this game. I do have a pre flop position on Penn State on the money line I grabbed minus a dollar fifty five earlier today, so could be a double loser, hopefully a double winner if we see Penn State pull it together. Here once again three ranked teams in action. Not until eight thirty eastern tonight will we see the first one, and that's Illinois, which South Point has now moved to a five point favorite over the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Cornhuskers really struggling this year as Freddy Hoiberg squad Matt has lost I believe now six.

In a row.

It has not been pretty and funny to think that UCLA a team that they beat back on January fourth. This is a Nebraska team that went out to the Diamond Head Classic in Hawaii and they won that tournament. They beat Oregon State, which has turned out to be a pretty solid team, and since then it has really kind of gone south here for the Cornhuskers, just two and seven in conference play and they've lost to Saint Mary's but six straight losses for Nebraska, So that one coming up at nine eight thirty Eastern Memphis at two Lane, seen the market come in a little bit on the green Wave as that one from seven down to five and a half, and then our game of the night Oregon and UCLA as the Oregon Ducks and Dana Altman squad, which, as you mentioned earlier, as high as ranked number nine in the country. Things have gone a little bit south here for the Oregon Ducks. They've lost two of three, including over the weekend at Minnesota. As around a four to four and a half point favorite matt they lose to the Gophers seventy seven to sixty nine. Dawson Garcia, Man, I'll tell you what, Minnesota might not be a very good basketball team. That's a pretty good basketball player in Dawson Garcia's transfers.

From North Carolina.

And it's taken a while for Dawson Garcia to take off with the Golden Gophers. But you're starting to see that now and that's I think that's the biggest reason Minnesota's played much better this Garcia has taken his game to the next level. I remember watching him play as a freshman at North Carolina. Do you recall that I don't really am trying to think. I thought man, this kid's going to be good, and then kind of disappeared for about a year and a half, and well he's back and he's got a lot of potential. So Minnesota no longer the worst team in a Big Ten right now, that distinction is going to be between Nebraska and Washington. But I don't I really don't know what to do with this Oregon Ucla game tonight. Bruins won the first meeting up in Eugene by two, and mc cronin's got this team to really respond to his criticism what he calls his team soft. In the UCLA's won four in a row. I wasn't sure. I thought that might backfire, and I think it was Jay Billis on the ESPN. It might have been Billis who was critical of Cronin calling his team soft and some of the tactics She used to throw his players under the bus. But it's worked and UCLA's back and playing really well at this point six and four in a Big Ten, and that's good for tied for fifth place.

So we'll keep our eyes on those games if we see any market moves. But we're going to talk some Super Bowl props coming up with Jeff Sherman from the Westgates Super Bowl here.

In ten minutes. We'll talk a little golf with him as well.

As we saw a couple of aces today at Pebble, Rory McElroy and Shane Lowry both having a couple a hole in one each out there at Pebble.

But sawid big bet come in.

It was reported over at the South Point today fifty thousand on the under forty nine and a half. I think you and I had a very similar thought on this one as right now as you look across the market, forty nine is the consensus number. Matt DraftKings actually have forty eight and a half. But when you think of Kansas City and the firepower that they have on offense, Philadelphia fifty five points against Washington, both of these teams going over last week as thirty two to twenty nine. In the final score with Kansas City against Buffalo, that goes over Philadelphia goes over themselves in a game that was at forty seven and a half against Washington. If you're looking to get down a big wager like that particular better did on the under forty nine and a half, do you need to do it now?

Well, that better thinks to forty nine and a half is going to be the best number in the market. I tend to disagree. I know there's an element of unpredictability when you're trying to figure out where the Super Bowl number are going to go, because all the tourists, all the fans pour into Vegas next week, and that's when you're going to take ninety plus percent of your handle. And who do you think, well, which bet do you think most people want to make on the total?

Over?

They want to play it over the last time these teams bet in the Super Bowl is thirty eight, thirty five. Eagles just put up fifty five points last week, Chief scored thirty two. I think the majority of people coming to town next week, you're going to be playing this over the total, and you probably would see a fifty at some point pop up out there. Maybe it's not going to be here at Circa or the Westgats super Book, but I think you will see a fifty somewhere in the market. And that's why. Actually I see a forty nine and a half off shore today too, So I do think it's going to hit fifty. I would wait, he can do whatever he wants to do with his money. But I would have waited to see waiting for the fifty to pop up and play that under.

By the way, if you're wondering, and it's very early still ten days before Super Bowl FI, eighty three percent of bets shockingly on the over over at the Draftking sportsbook, and here at circa eighty nine percent of the bets on the over as well. So you know, will we see the forty nine and a half reemerge? That was the opener here at Circa, So that got scooped up right now forty nine market wide DraftKings sits at forty eight and a half. But yeah, you would imagine Matt and we'll ask Derek Stevens this, we'll lsk Jeff Sherman this as well as the week goes on, if you do start to see the forty nine and a half show up again, how high does it ultimately go for that one? Right now? And you talked about this with JBT earlier in this week. He and I were talking yesterday. By the way, I did not know this because I texted Adam Burke, what was your prediction on Super Bowl fifty nine? In our Super Bowl betting guy.

Oh, there were three of us, so we had twenty one staff members. Yep, handicappers pick division winners, playoff teams, super Bowl matchup. So three of us had Eagles over Chiefs. That was me, Wes Reynolds and Dustin Sweedelson. So I wish I had played the Circa exacta. Did you see that? No, Eagles over Chiefs is fifty nine to one odds. Oh, I've got an Eagles ticket at sixteen to one, but I wish I had.

The fifty nine to one.

That would nice.

I should have played that. But sitting in pretty good position for that game next week. You know, I looked here at the odds tracker. Circa actually hit fifty on the total on Sunday for about five minutes that got played under. So there have been fifties out there, but it has just been brief. I think there's a good chance we see fifty again at some point next week. Tim at this point, you'd probably have less than five percent of the Super Bowl handle that's in.

Oh yeah, yeah, there's no doubt about it.

This is VSENT Primetime on vsin the Sports Betting Network.

It is vs IN Primetime here on a Thursday evening, live from the Circus Sportsbook in downtown Las Vegas, Nevada. That's Matt Humans, I'm Tim Murray, Ohio State and Penn State going on right now at Wreck Hall, the former barn for the Penn State Nitney Lions.

Forty five to thirty nine.

Penn State has cut that deficit down to six, hopefully all the way back to a comeback. Here, Matt humans is, I have a pre flop position on Penn State, but also took them plus five and a half here in the second half. Couple of NBA games going on as we speak, as the Los Angeles Lakers beating up on the Washington Wizards. We'll get to a little NBA chatter as well as golf with our next guest, and of course Super Bowl with Jeff Sherman, VP of Risk Management over at the Westgates Superbook. Jeff, give us a little peelback the onion here regarding the prop reveal coming up later on this evening at the Westgates Superbook. A tradition onlike any other here in the city of Las Vegas. How much time and effort went into the amount of props and how many at the end of the day. Will you guys be releasing tonight at the super Book.

Yeah, they all come out seven pm tonight over the counter. We'll have them on the app tomorrow morning. We've got a forty four page packet that'll be available tonight and must be over a thousand different wagering options. So you know, we started on this last week where we try to work ahead anticipate the matchup, and we went in with Chiefs and Eagles with them being the favorites of the game. So that was a good head start for us. So we got the computer all set with that. Then it's a matter of doing all the number crunching, which we really started on Tuesday. So we worked Tuesday yesterday, on Wednesday into today to get them ready for tonight. So it's an arduous process, but you know, we got it down to a pretty good routine after doing it all these years and try to come up with a few new ones and throw those in there and crease of interest.

Jeff, were you able to pull out your prop packet from two years ago and how much did you use the props from two years ago to make this one because we got a rematch of Chiefs Eagles.

Yeah, we did. We brought out the prop packet and we could see what we opened some of the props, what we closed them, where the money was, and as we went through each prop, we referenced that and tried to fine tune it based on that, and you know, you could see betting patterns on specific players from that, so we definitely leaned on that a little bit. And with the Chiefs being in the game so many times, you know, it felt like we could do that stuff without even looking at numbers at this point.

So you told me that you made an adjustment to the game number based off of the prop process you went through. What'd you do with the Chiefs Eagles line?

Yeah, you know when we opened it, we opened Chiefs one and a half fifty and we're currently at Chiefs one in forty nine. We took some sharp money under forty nine and a half, but we did move the side down from one and a half to one. You know, when we had this as a look aheadline last week, we had Chiefs one, and you know, it came out like I said, one and a half, but then dissecting all the props and the way the game flow goes, we ended up lowering it to one, not based on money, but just based on how we thought the props came out and what we expected to see. And you know, you got Barkley minus two to ten to score a touchdown, Jalen Hurts minus one forty to score a touchdown, So you start adding up to points and things like that, and we kind of we felt like we expect the sharp money to come in on the Eagles this week based on what we saw in the props formulating those.

Jeff Sherman from the Westgate super Book joining us here on VS in primetime, as he mentioned at seven o'clock over the counter here in Vegas, you can go make those bets over at the Westgates super Book and then they'll be on the app come tomorrow morning. So, Jeff, when you think about this total right now, and you mentioned you're at forty nine right now and number down to one right now, you're the only one that I see in town. So a little sharp money coming in on the Eagles. We had mentioned a decent sized wager in a different shop here in town coming home. If you had to give some advice right now for someone looking to bet the under, would you say wait or would you say, if you like it, now play the under. What do you think happens with this total number as we get closer to the Super Bowl? Do you think we start to see some of that public over money maybe push this up a little bit.

Yeah, I would wait on it, just to into next weekend, because you might see some independent shops that become heavy on the over and might deviate from what the market might be and look to attract some under money if it starts to pile up. So with it being forty nine pretty much across the board, there's no reason to come in now and jump in on it. You might as well wait on that, and usually you'll see some that might tend to stray off trying to attract some support. It happen either way, on the side each way, the total each way. But there's no need to rush right now because the market is pretty painted one and a half and forty nine.

No, just go ahead, Jeff.

I was going to go back to the late nineties, early two thousands when you and Jay Cornegie's staff at the Imperial Palace you were putting up props and everybody thought, Wow, this is crazy. These guys got one hundred and twenty props up on the Super Bowl. You what can you recall about those days and how the props have exploded over the past twenty five years. You've gone from about one hundred and twenty if I recall about the right number, one hundred and twenty to like you said about one thousand.

Yeah, you know, the process we used to do, like you mentioned during those times is we would work on a Monday and start Monday morning, get them done Monday night, and get them up some of them Monday night, but into Tuesday mornings. So they were upright away because we didn't have the volume of props that we do now. And now we really dig deeper and expanded them and take our time and do it over a few days, you know, especially we have that lead time of two weeks between the games, so you know, we don't have to get them up immediately, but with a smaller menu, that's what we were able to do back then. And you know, now we just try to take our time and out rush them up, but try to try to do a better job and talk through one by one. And you know, we suspend just a minute or two on them before by prop. Now we spend some of them up to ten minutes per prop.

All right, I get to this question a lot. What are the most popular props? Because we like the exotic props across sport props, but I think some of the simple props are the most popular. Right, Like first TD scorer will there be overtime things like that.

Yeah, I mean MVP. That's one of the most popular index props, the safety overtime in the last couple of years. One of the more popular ones now is the octopus, and especially with Jalen Hurts playing in the game this year, so we have octopus at sixteen to one, but we also have well Jalen specifically get an octopus of twenty five to one. So just things like that that are simple that you don't have to read into too much, those are the ones that we tend to see more action on.

Jeff Sherman joining us here Curtis of our Progressive Guest Ligne, VP of Risk Management over at the Westgates super Book. Their props will be coming out here in just about two hours. It will be interesting to see how those numbers ultimately, you know, move and you just kind of hit on it. The expansion of the prop market from an amount of props to bet on. Jeff, just from an overall handle standpoint is, can you put a number on where we sit right now props versus side and total of the Super Bowl nowadays?

I would say at this point it's probably about seventy five eighty percent on props. Wow, this is the game itself. It's it's it's definitely surpassed the fifty percent mark a few years ago and it keeps growing that way. And like I mentioned, the way we expand these For instance, when you have a quarterback Mahomes, we used to have his touchdown passes one and a half. Now we do one, one and a half, two, two and a half. We do variations, so each player has multiple variations on things like that, and each of those attract interests. So we'd start out tonight two thousand per prop for the limit at the window, and then when we get closer to the game, depending on how the action's going, we can expand those limits too. So you just see so much come in on that that it really is a driving force today.

Jeff Sherman, Od's maker at the West Kate Super Book, Jeff, let's talk golf here for a minute. Pebble Beach. We saw two holes in one today Rory McElroy and Shane Lowry. I know there was a popular bet no holes in one in this tournament, says probably good for the book. How about the adjusted odds you're going to put up after the first round, Russell Henley on top at eight under. You've also got Justin Rose, Scepstraca, Victor Hoblin, Rory McElroy, Justin Thomas, Patrick Cantley, Shane Lowry, Scotty Scheffler all in the top fifteen.

Yeah, the extremely crowded leaderboard after day one, like you mentioned, down Scheffler within three shots. So Scheffler, he started out five to one pre tournament. He's going to be the four to one favorite. Now you've got Rory just two shots back, he'll be six to one. Justin Thomas right there at eight to one, the leader right now, Henley nine to one after being sixty to one pre tournament. But it's extremely crowded that it's just going to take another day or two to really shake this out.

That's going to be a great tournament this weekend. A bunch of big names in are top the leaderboard. Jeff quick Note on the NBA Houston Memphis is gonna tip off here in about ninety minutes. Any movement you see in any action on any sharp action on this game rockets Grizzlies with It looks like it's a super book. You got Memphis minus three total of two thirty five.

Well, this morning, we took some sharp action on the Grizzlies minus four and a half to get us to minus five, but then with John Morant being ruled out, the game went down to three and that's where we sit right now. So it is more of an adjustment due to his status more than money coming in.

He is Jeff Sherman.

You can follow him on Twitter at Golf Odd's VP of risk Management over at the Westgate super Bowl. Busy time over there at the Westgate, Jeff, So we appreciate the insights tonight.

Thanks for having me on, guys.

Eighty percent on action.

I remember Jay Cornegae mentioning a few years ago it was closer to like sixty percent. But yeah, it becomes more and more a prop heavy the betting market for the Super Bowl.

We'll talk more about those Super Bowl props. What can we expect here at Circa Sports. Derek Stevens, owner and CEO of Circa.
