In this hour of VSiN By The Books, hosts Dave Ross and Jensen Lewis give a betting breakdown of the Sweet 16 games of the NCAA Tournament. Also in the show, the hosts dive into the latest news and notes in the NFL, highlighted by the Giants' signing Russell Wilson.
This is Vison by the Books on Vson The Sports Betting Network.
Will begin the updates of Vson by the Books on this Wednesday. Dave Ross Jenison will is here on site at Circus Sports Fabius, Las Vegas, Nevada. We say hump day here for the Wednesday because normally that means you're getting to the weekend, right, But when you have March Madness and you have the Sweet sixteen, you can make the case people. If you're listening out there series channel fifty eight, if you're watching US Visa dot Com on the Visa watchapp, you can make the case that this is a Friday.
It feels that way because a lot of people will just go ahead and cease and desist from doing their normal work tomorrow. And it's Alida and it has to be that way, and I endorse that because tomorrow is domestic opening day from Major League Baseball, So why would you go to work tomorrow? You should come here and watch as many games as possible with us. I will be here Friday as well and mingling around. So yeah, get it done, Get everything you need done today because the next couple of days. Appointment television viewer, how does the rooting work because obviously with eyes on everything, yep. And we're gonna have the Sweet sixteen going on, We're gonna have Major League Baseball sun up to sundown at least for us. And I'm just saying like, we're you got to have your head on a swivel short tomorrow, right because you've got to keep track of everything going on.
Certainly if you're an end game better, But for baseball, is it going to be more relaxed, kind of chilled? Maybe some first five we'll get into that. Yeah, But with the hoops, we got to be on at Jensen because you like to find those sweet middles.
The middles, and that's probably the one thing I'd have to worry about if it were the round of sixty four or thirty two, just because of everything going on at once. But because we have two games to worry about, that's fine. Here's the other part too. So first pitch here locally will be a little bit afternoon tomorrow with Milwaukee and New York and Baltimore in Toronto, and so it's really that that one pm local time hour four pm in the East where then you start to get the onslaught of.
Games where Okay, we could be could be jumping around here.
I mean, I just I want to throw the South there too. There will be the Houston Open going on at the same time. I mean, there's a lot likely to have a place, maybe some first round leaders. We're gonna have West Reynolds is going to join us here in our number three as well. You got to catch up with that in Burke a little bit yesterday.
Yes, we can. We'll catch up again.
It gonna be great to have Burkeie back in on the program today as well. Elo Hrschkovitz is going to join us to talk all things hoops, which would be great to catch up with Eli c how his brackets are doing. Can't wait for the Daily Diamond as well. I'm going in reverse order if you're watching on VSA dot com. But Daily Diamond, Yeah, with opening day beginning tomorrow, I mean, it's just as exciting as it gets news or noise. A lot of NFL in there, including we'll get to Russell Wilson. Now let's rode jeez, he's going, what are we doing to New York, New Jersey? You know, I look at that and I say, you've got by the way, you know, this. I wanted to get him on board with thirty to one with the Giants. I just can't. Again, it was predicated on it look like maybe Aaron Rodgers would be the Giant starting quarterback. And no disrespect to Russ or the famous Jamis eating a w or to Tommy DeVito, but that's the quarterback room right now in New York.
If I'm a leak neighbors, I'm going to Joe shine Man saying it, it's not it.
What are we doing?
I don't I don't hate it as much as everybody else does. I know Russ is not the same guy. It's not the last let Russ Cook era that Seattle days. Those are long gone. Sean Payton didn't want him in Denver. That they basically said, we'll pay you to go play in Pittsburgh. True, that was the majority of the contract was paid by the Denver Broncos. Right, and now one year in Pittsburgh and they're like, all right, we're really going to push this Rogers thing even though we don't have him in the full right, you can go ahead and sign with the Giants.
All right, Well, well, I know we'll talk about it coming up.
But Boyle boy, this is now all of a suddenly very intriguing number three pick with where Tennessee has said, I'm doing workout for you know, we liked him so much, we're gonna do one more just to make sure you people got to get over the top for what we'd want to trade out bizarre.
So we'll get to all of that, but obviously we with the opening day beginning tomorrow and with March Madness this Sweet sixteen, let's get to some of those games. And I do want to talk a little bit about Bruce Pearl here and where his mentality is. We've talked a lot about it yesterday with Purdue and Houston, which feels like a de facto home game for Purdue, and it really kind of it is in Indianapolis, right, so I know Calvin Sampson maybe he's not thrilled about that. By the way, seven and a half here on the produce, I went thirty two and a half as the total. But for Auburn, who I am still surprised that their number has slipped with two wins, and I know they cover the number against Creighton. Don't get me started on that, sure, but you know, it was a little bit niptuck there for a while in first half.
They trailed.
At halftime, Pearl's talking about speaking of home court advantage, the importance of maybe Auburn getting a de facto home game. Take a listen.
Great for our fans and great for the Auburn family that we were going to be able to, you know, have a venue that's going to be close enough. And look, John, we've earned it.
You know when we were when we got the pairing.
We got the seatings, and we were opposite Louisville and Creighton. First of all, Creighton finished second in the Big East and they were there. They were you know, they were top who, top twenty team for sure. That's a really tough nine seed with all that experience, having been to the Sweet sixteen for in the last five years. That was a tough draw. And oh they were just happy to be playing Louisville in Lexington about an hour away. So if Louisville had won that game against Creighton, there would have been I don't know how many fans in their twelve thousand fans and they're rooting against us for Alabama State, and the place would have been full, you know. So I don't know that as a first round situation, getting out of Lexington was not easy for the Auburn Tigers. We've earned the right to be able to play close to home as the number one overall seat, and so I'm not apologizing for it. At the same time, our fans in the stands aren't going to bill keep Michigan off the boards or or guard that dynamic offense.
Okay, the part that I liked the most was we've earned it. He wanted you to know, like, you guys are are gonna say it's a home game for us now, and this is an unfair advantage. Hey just know, had Louisville beaten Creighton, we would have played a road game essentially to get out. That was his point, right, is that this is now You guys are going to say that we're getting the easy draw, sure, because it's a de facto home game, But I'm not sure if they're aware Michigan travels pretty darn well. Yeah, so this like home game stuff for I know, it's closed in proximity. Maybe that was Pearl's way of saying, Hey, get to the atl but I don't look at this and say, yes, it's going to be more of a home game for Auburn than it is Michigan. But it's not like Mission isn't going to be represented.
So I went through last night and that was I believe my first jump into really considering putting in picks, and I I did get in on the Michigan side. I got in plus nine and a half. You saw a number down to nine. I am a believer in our theories too, that you take a spread that high, you do believe they have it, that.
Underdog has a chance to win the game. And I certainly do.
With the inconsistencies of some of the top SEC teams you already saw with Florida and the tournament we saw with Auburn, you know, sleepwalking through the first half.
All right, it still can be there.
And I had said this throughout the early part of the week. Is the longer layoff beneficial for coaching here? And I think you made be a student point of throw it out between these two. Dusty may unbelievable job doing what he's done, and is not just here at Michigan, it's his previous stops too. We know that Bruce Pearl understands how to get here and how to win here. There has been trepidation for him in this spot before. Now I think if you're Michigan, you're a little bit more on house money because this is the overall number one seed that was supposed to be here, that's supposed to take care of business. And I do think there's a little posturing here from Bruce Pearl to try and get it out there is like just remember, just remember who the number one seed is.
I feel that that way too right, that we've earned it, don't you know who we are? And you guys are gonna move us to five to one. They are minustyllar forty by the way, to win the South region. But the fact that they were about plus three sixty plus three eighty now they're five to one to win it to cut down the nets overall, I think might be a bit of a slap in the face. So I see it the same way. By the way, I didn't even get the best of the number. And again I played this early when it came out eight eight and a half and now went up to nine to nine and a half. Had I waited, it could have got extra point. So I'm stuck on the lower number of Michigan. But I still like the Michigan side here, So a good value by you getting at nine on the Wolverines. Tin to the Izzo, he's gone to sixty. Well he has gone, but he's taking his team with him too. Sixteen times tom Izo has led the Spartans to the Sweet sixteen. Ole Miss might be the sleeper cell now that maybe I know Arkansas is the ten seeds, so we look at them as but maybe ole Miss and I know Iowa State was under man but they really dominated Iowa State pillar to post. Right, here's Izzo talking about the challenges that ole Miss will represent.
Smaller yet physical. They defend in a swarming way. They don't have a true true post all the time, but they got a versatile guy in Dia that can score it in a lot of different places. They dominated what I think is a good Iowa State team. They had them down twenty six at one time, and they've beaten EYU, Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee. I mean they've beaten a lot of players. They got six guys in double figures, led by Doulah who had.
So this number two has gone the way of the Spartan up to three and a half, which is a little bit Okay is a while America might not know Ole Miss, is Ah clearly knows Ole Miss sure, right, so he's already the scouting part is there. He's being very very transparent. I mean, when you are up twenty six in Iowa State, I don't care how wonder man they might have been, it's still Iowa State that you put that on.
I think that this is a classic case of where you've seen Ole Miss, what they've done, and some of the recency bias here too. I will echo JBT sentiments from yesterday. You can feel a little wary of a team that does not shoot well from distance in that state, and that has been part of Michigan State's aura, if you will, for the young kids out there here and recently towards the end of the regular season the Big Ten and in this tournament. All that being said, please tell me why we have a full point of movement. And this isn't indicative of like, Okay, the Sharps understand what we're seeing. Yeah, it's it's not that it's a massive difference as far as the eliteness of the coaching, because I think Chris Barry shows you he can do pretty much anything anywhere he goes as well. But I do feel that this is more of movement on. Tom Izzo knows what he needs to do here and he has the time to do it. If this were the second game, was there the regional final, not as much time, then maybe advantage Old Miss to pull some things out that Smarty hasn't seen.
Plus at our fifty for Old Miss on the money line here that total sitting at one forty three and a half. Very interesting on this kind of Michigan scene where the numbers are starting to move, but they are moving here overnight as we kick it off here on this Wednesday. I when we come back more Sweet sixteen previews, and also I do want to get back to tom Izzo. Interesting comments on the transfer portal that's next year on Vison by the Books, your.
Dude, Diana, Vison by the Books right here Visa.
We continue to be soon by the Books on this Wednesday edition, Dave. I'll say in Jenson Lewis here at Circus Sports Baptists, Las Vegas, Nevada, looking through these Sweet sixteen games here again, we're gonna get to opening day tomorrow. We'll get to the Houston Open with West Reynolds as well. So we got golf. We got a lot to get to here on the show today. But when you look at tomorrow's games in specifics, here we look at BYU Alabama, this total keeps going up, up, up, in a way, I wonder where there will be pushback coming back on the other side. That's the first game to tip off Sweet sixteen tomorrow. I can understand a little bit as to why it is one seventy five. I'm a little bit surprised that the money's been going on the side towards Alabama to get that up to five. I did see some five and a half's come back to five here. Where do you stand on this side or a total? Because I am on on the total, I've played the over at one seventy four.
Yeah, I feel that, And I was just looking at the breakdown. We are at least at DraftKings, forty eight percent the bets on the under, fifty two percent of the bets in the over, so we're starting to even out pretty close. But sixty one percent of the handle on the over.
So I think you're you're right there. I do think Bama eventually will be the side.
I know DraftKings is at five and a half right now, and yeah, pretty much what we'd expect. Fifty eight percent of the bet, sixty seven percent of the handle. As far as answering your question about where the total could go if you were at if it opened at what Mattie Emans said, one seventy one and.
We're up, and then me okay, so.
Man, you got one seventy four.
Is what you got on seventy four and a half, okay, So I.
Would say one seventy six is pretty easy.
By tip, it would have to be a monsoon I think to get to one seventy seven. But I think one seventy six is pretty safe.
And by the way, I got these on Sunday night. It wasn't like I waited till yesterday till Tuesday to get these, so they get hit up immediately, right, So if IV was an hour late to the window, yeah, that's already a two and a half point spike.
I do think if you if you missed the total at this point, because it might be too high now to be able to get there, right. I mean, we saw what that Liam McNeely three for Ukon did and that was an unnecessary sweat for me on.
The plane ride.
But it gets home is you are kind of hoping that if you're a total better in this game, this is a live play, and you need to be ready to go within the first couple of minutes because of how high that total is. If you get to that first TV timeout and you know ten to six, see why I use one of four from three, you know you've missed some bunnies transition, you know you've missed some layups things. You could probably get back to the original one seventy one. That might be where you go.
And that's the point, and we're kidding a little bit about it. If you're out here and you're watching all the baseball games going on, everything, you do have to be attentive to this because that they're going to hit during that TV time out yep, some other ones I know William Hill here, it is going to be as the game is going. But remember those screens are ahead of you as well, correct, So you really do have to be honest. The TV timeout feels like you can at least take a deep breath, kind of re assess where you are.
We're halftime.
We're halftime, certainly, but yeah, I would look to that too. If it's a slow start, I just don't know that there's gonna be a slow start.
You took the words right out of my mouth and thinking, Okay, if Natos has his boys ready to go, be going. It is back and forth and the other part you got to worry about. I mean by he's been really good from beyond the arc. So if it's an immediate like, hey, we're three for three right away, you're never seeing that total again.
For somebody's sitting on a twenty to one Alabama, just win the damn game. Don't make me sweat this. Both we're both invested, but don't make me sweat this out against YU We got the Craft five going up against Florida, and we all know Maryland with the survive there a great to some a great play to end that out against Colorado State. Now they move on in Florida, Florida. This number has been met up since it opened about five. I got it at six. It's been north of six and a half. Feels like that's where we might level off there.
Teams I believe that have been at least a six point favorite in this spot the last what five to ten years it's been. It's been pretty chalky here and and again you're looking at Maryland and for me, for them to keep it within the number, you have to a keep all five of those guys at a foul trouble. Any of those that's the key, any of those starters two fouls early, Like I'm talking to first ten minutes of the first half.
The attrition battle here. That's that's all it is right there.
So if I'm Florida, I am trying to get into the front court, I am trying to absolutely force Maryland to try and stop me at the rim, try and draw some contact and then just go to work because they're too good at being able to stretch the floor. If they can get into transition, that can If Clayton is I'll tell you what, I don't expect Clayton to be cold again back to back games to start. If he's hot, man, this could be double digits quickly.
I do believe, if my memory bank serves me well, that Florida led twenty one to seven against Norfolk State into like the first seven minutes of the game, and somehow didn't cover that number, right. They just kind of coasted the rest of the way there. They did not cover in round two. Obviously we get two point win with you Kutt hitting at three of the buzzer. Look at their ATS rec for the year twenty six and ten and this is on two non covers, So we're talking about twenty six and eight. This will been one of the best cover teams in the country. So I am on the side of the Gators here. I think they go back to their form a little bit here. I love them laying the six in this spot.
Seventy four percent of the bets, eighty seven percent of the handle. I mean, everyone is piling in. It makes all the sense in the world. And I guess the only pushback would have been had Maryland maybe had two or three guys to go to on their bench.
They don't, right, you know, I.
Mean, and where Florida could go in their second rotation, They're still going to be able to impose a little bit of their will. And so I think that's that's the thing I watched for early in this game, is if anyone on Maryland gets into foul trouble, it could be curtains for sure.
The Arizona Duke game, I've not gotten to the window in this one here, but I lean towards the over here one fifty three and a half and the Duke sid we mentioned yesterday. We don't have any double digit dogs, do I wonder if we might get to a double digit dog here with Arizona. I am so ten tempted to look to the Arizona side, but I listened everybody on our network, and it feels like Duke is the play and I can't get there with Duke because I feel like Arizona's best could really push the Duchies in this spot.
So that got me to the over I got in it over one fifty three and a half. I do feel that the side trepidation is real. Yeah, I could see that, and you can see where the number now is kind of fluctuated. Nine nine and a half. I would feel better. And this is maybe a little Recncy bias looking at what Yukon did with Florida and say, okay, if both teams are on it, then I want nothing to do with the spread and I will absolutely take the double chance if you will that this thing's.
Tight at the end.
You're getting fouls, you're getting free throws, you're trying to extend the game because trying to extend the season, et cetera, et cetera. So I'm in over one fifty three and a half. That will be a contest play for me one of four in the March Bracket Challenge here at Visa dot com. So also, you know, we mentioned the Michigan Auburg game and we'll touch on that again nine and a half. I did play the over one fifty three and a half there too, So over in Michigan Auburn, over in Arizona.

Vson dot com slash subscribe very quickly. I did want to get back to t Dzo here because Tom had some very interesting comments about the transfer portal. We mentioned it yesterday with Michigan and Scottie Pippen's kids already entered the portal, while Michigan is still alive obviously with their big Sweet sixteen matchup coming up against Auburn, and is so well, let's just say, I don't want to say that he suffers fools lightly, but he had a lot to say about the transfer portal. Take a listen.
But well, my team's done has been incredible and I'm not ready to move on. So jud I've followed what you said. You know, I'm gonna worry today. But the guys I got in this program that have done an incredible job this year, and that's it. And if that cost me later, so be it. But Tom Iso isn't cheating the people that he has that have been loyal to him for this chaos that is going on out.
There chaos that's going out there. One I got a detract for the third person. He went, Tom Izzoh, he went third person.
Right.
You know I'm big on that. So that's the only knock Tom, I'm going to have on you to use jud Heathcote and that the former Michigan State legendary coaching coach up till nineteen ninety five, right, I thought was pretty classy as well, basically saying Jud, I'm not doing this to your program right that I took over and I've been the you know, the caretaker ever since you left. And he got emotional about it, like I don't want to talk about what next year looks like, but other teams are, right, So like, is he putting himself at a disadvantage because he's he's saying, I'm not cheating the kids I got here that are being loyal to me and this program so that I can start thinking about next year. Already.
There was a great graphic out and I know there's been a lot of accounts on social media that have gone through just and this one is just the starting five of the Sweet sixteens original recruiting that are in the starting five of the Sweet sixteen teams. Michigan State of their starting five, four original Michigan State recruits, so the other one from Utah State, Purdue shout out Elliott Bowman, all five original recruits.
Okay, Matt Painter keeping him duke four.
Of the five original duke recruits, the other one from Tulane. If you look at the I think Byu is the only other one that has over halfs. They have three of their five. The others are from Utah and Rutgers Houston. I'm sorry, Houston has three of their five. The others from Oklahoma and Baylor.
So wild west Man.
In Lewis Ross administration, we would have clear and absolute guardrails for how this operation would go forward.
I think Is would like that.
He would might be a cabinet member. When he's stopped, I thought he was going to cry it sent get fired up.
I like it.
Tom. I like emotional people. Well we got Russell Wilson could be emotional. We'll discuss that next year.
Books your two din of Vison by the Books. Right here on Vson.
We are back Vison by the Books. Dave Ross and Jensen Willists. We mentioned off the off the show. It was big news and consternation in New York, New Jersey. What exit that Russell Wilson, let's right, mister unlimited is taking his abilities to the Giants. And this is of course just after they had signed Jamis Winston. So now you have three quarterbacks in that QB room and that does seem to be the buzzword these days is the QB room?
Right?
Who's in that QB room? So now you've got Russ, you got Jamis, You've got to beatle. I don't know that that's the order that it's gonna be one, two, three. I don't know that they're done. I don't know that what the Giant's gonna end up doing.
Here.
You had a top five pick coming up here, and you're going to figure out who's going to be the number one pick. Camward right now is minus seven dollars to be the number one pick in the draft. I think you can make that a lot bigger if you really wanted to. Abdul Carter is plus four to fifty. You see Travis Hunter sixteen to one, Shoudure thirty five, and Jackson Dart at fifty to one. If you're the Giants with these quarterback moves, Jensen. Does this tell you that they are absolutely in the market for a quarterback with their first pick, or no, We'll go to the veteran route with three veterans now, because I think we can count de Vito now certainly as a veteran.
I think they're real well maybe not. It's Joe Shine, They're Joe Shane whatever. Either way, he could be out after this year. I don't know if they feel like they're competing, but they're at least putting people on the field to compete. So Shador would would be the next guy that I think would fall there. I mean how much he's fallen from grace here as far as the Browns Odds are as far as where the Giants are. Let me give you opponents at home, and you tell me we did this exercise yesterday. You had the division home against Dallas, Philly and Washington, then your home against Green Bay, Minnesota, Kansas City.
The Chargers and the Niners.
Oh my god, we have but we do have breaking news in this regard. What was the number yesterday? Did I told you I wanted to get home on with the Giants before we knew who the quarterback was gonna be.
Thirty to one.
Right, Okay, okay, now that they have a quarterback, we believe Russell Wilson has not moved twenty two to one. It is significantly moved. I should have taken the thirty to one. All hands on deck for the Giants.
Come on, how does this number come down?
Eight? Die?
I had no clue.
How is it?
That's that's a seismic move.
At DraftKings this morning. To win the division twenty two to one. Then they're gonna go on the road in the division. Hang on here, they're going on to the road in the division. They gotta come out here to Vegas. They gotta go to New England. They gotta go to Detroit, they gotta go to Denver. What delusions to grandeur do these odds markets have?
I am stunned that this has moved as significantly as it is. Twenty two to one. By the way, the Cowboys, So when that gets shorted from thirty to one, it's got to go elsewhere. Right, the Cowboys were seven to one, they're plus seven fifty better value in America team plus a dollar ninety Now for the Commanders almost two to one, and then the Eagles are still odds on a minus star forty has the reigning defendings. I totally get that. But look, we can kid all we want about this news. There is no other way to interpret that other than Russell Wilson moved the betting market eight dollars overnight. Is there any other way to interpret that?
No, there's not.
But I mean, if you're doing that, then what I mean everyone and their brother just go lay the Giants to win the NFC the NFC East.
I mean, that is amazing to me that that type of move was made overnight because of this news of Russell Wilson.
Bewilderment is what I think of.
And again I did not play it. America. People were getting at me saying, don't do it, don't do it, don't bet the Giants at thirty to one, and it was going to be predicated on Aaron Rodgers. Now look, if you had said to me two days ago, go ahead and make your thirty one because it will be either Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson, I would not no disrespect to Russ. I wouldn't have played it sure at thirty if I knew that it was Russell Wilson, I would have taken the flyer and Aaron Rodgers, and I guess that's why the Steelers, in this kind of musical chairs of quarterbacks, is still holding out hope. They put an offer on the table, allegedly to Aaron to say we want you to come here. We've seen how that's been baked into the cake for the number for the Steelers, that it's going to be reflective that it's going to be Aaron Rodgers. This for the Giants makes no sense to me. I don't know how they got eight dollars better in the marketplace by getting Jameis Winston and Russell Wilson. I just don't.
I mean, if you're gonna get twenty two, you might as well just go the full gamut seventy to one to any NFC, you might as well get a hundred fifty one to win it all.
I will say this for everybody out there at the bleezing this sort of thing, and we say, trends can be your friend. You don't have to get married to him. Okay, there's not been a repeat winner in the NFC nfcast in two decades. I would say it's it's one of the most outlying stats certainly in the NFL that I can recall, right, just if you think about that when you say it and hear it, and you go, oh, it's not that big a deal. Twenty years of not having one repeat champion in the day and age of quarterbacks like a Patrick Mahomes who's won it every year he's been there, or Tom Brady who won it every year he was the starting quarterback in New England. Like this stuff happens on the regular once you get a dominant quarterback. Maybe it says that that Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott will find out about Jaden Daniels he hasn't won it yet. If those guys could be the guys to win two in a row, but for it to not happen, even in the Donovan mc that's the last time it happened, by the way, was the Donovan McNabb era. The Eagles won it back to back. They went to the Super Bowl, of course lost to the Patriots. That's how long it's been. So this division has seen upheaval each and every year. Maybe that's what people are betting on for the Giants, but I don't see it.
I mean, I'm trying to draw the similarities to my Browns in the AFC North. And of course you go back to the days of Big Ben and Joe Flacco going to each other for the Steelers and the Ravens. But the way it's it's set up now, I almost want an NFL edition of would you rather? Would you rather have the Giants at twenty two to one to win the NFC East or would you rather have the Browns.
On to win the North?
So like they're saying, whether it's going to be Shador, we don't know which quarterback we're going to take, but we're taking a quarterback. But you're gonna get thirty to one on the unknown.
This Kirk Cousin stuff about still waiting may waive the no trade here after the draft.
Okay. That's my only hope for the Kevin.
Stefanski era in Cleveland is that if you guys are serious about this, then this is what you gotta do.
That's your Obi Wan Kenobi, You're my only hope.
He is the only hope right now.
By the way I did like the Vikings, we know that it's gonna be jj McCarthy. He was on The k Adams Show yesterday and Kay said essentially, you know, when did you know you were going to be the guy? And he said, they haven't told me that he is. I'm paraphrasing, I'm gonna go out there and earn it every single day and like you got to earn this. But but basically said, they haven't told me that I'm the guy. I just wonder in that quarterback room now, which is down to Brett Rippin and yeah, and a guy that's coming off in acl who hasn't played a lick in the NFL. You got to go get a veteran. Could Kirk Cousins go back to Minnesota?
I mean it's.
If you're dropping the Giants at twenty two to one, anything's possible.

One of the game on Thursday that I didn't want to touch upon here before we had to break and again it is that Arkansas Texas Tech game guns up in Lubbock. And now John cal Perry, you can make the argument if people thought he couldn't coach, I feel like he feels vindicated. I beat Patino right where a ten seed, We've had injuries, our best player, score, rebounder hasn't been there. We get Booby flammback. You see at the difference he makes. This number is staying at five and a half here total of one eight. I am on the Arkansas side here with coach Cal. But do you feel like whether they win or lose this game, I beat Patino? As it to you all said I couldn't coach x's and o's. I'm just a recruiter and now in transfer portal, I'm just a guy that goes and pays money. I'm a bag man. Does this prove that cal knows what the hell he's doing?
When he was on Pat McAfee yesterday, you could kind of see the glee in the smile and the twinkle in the eye. Didn't like each other before don't like each other now and just a bit more sportsmen about it, if you will.
But they were very You could see that there was no love loss between those two paysons.
Correct and again, if you've ever seen The Godfather, you understand why I am in on Arkansas plus five and a half.
It is a contest pick for me.
I do feel that Texas Tech, if they do get past Arkansas, has as good a chance to take down Florida as any and I would probably get to the window on Texas Tech if that matchup materializes. However, they've got the challenge in front of them in Arkansas now, with a little chance to rest, get some reinforcements and also be able to really game plan. Well, I think they're I think they're in great shape here to keep this one pretty close.
Oubjection, your honor. Could I make the case that if the winner of this game was Arkansas, that Florida wouldn't want to play somebody that knows them, that is not scared of them, has matched up with them, You know what I mean? That familiarity.
I think that Florida's too fast for Arkansas. Yep, they'll make it a track meet.
I always love that kind of like, like I get back. I'm going way back to eighty five when Villanova played Georgetown. They lost to him twice in the regular season. It was the unbeatable Georgetown t Patrick Ewing and all that, and Roleig Massimino's like, we know these guys, we play these guys. We're not scared of these guys. Now, back then you can ball control and do other things. But yeah, I think that Arkansas might feel like because we've seen them and we're the sec too.
Well, at that point, Arkansas's on house money, and I may choose the rooting interest of the ninety to one future that I entered here at circa on the.
Raids a fast win at all.
So you haven't got to the window on the Giants at twenty two to one.
Now, I don't think you can. I don't think you can pay me enough to do that.
More march maddness previous when you come back with us right here Visa by the books.
Number George Dude din of Vison by the Books, right here on Vison.
We are back Vison by the Stave ros Jensen Lewisia. I just point of a word because this Giants talk, which has been consuming for me in the offseason of like, I just think thirty to one on any team is too big. In a four team they used to be constructed. You used to have five teams and divisions for old people like me. Now with only four teams, it feels like, man, thirty to one should be a favorable number. And I wanted to get there with the Giants s if it was going to be Aaron Rodgers. It's twenty two to one right now, a DraftKings. It is off the board at circa jeez, they're right. I went there during the break. I was like, you know, they they give me a thirty to one, I'll be a man of my word and I'll put a little pizza money in on the g man. It's not there. So but the Browns number has not moved. It's still thirty to one. And I won't get there.
You won't and you don't need to.
They're gona play rookie quarterback Savior Powder and be ready for be ready for another big divisional future.
No reason to throw that money away. Let's get back to March madness here a little bit poor tomorrow and for Friday and the Friday game, there's one that is the I like to call it it certainly Bill Murray game. If you ever watched Kingpin Kentucky against Tennessee. Four and a half is the side here. The total is one forty four and a half. We talk about familiarity and like whether or not some of these SEC schools I like, I believe and I told you this before the tournament when I saw that Alabama was oppo Florida, and when only played them in the finals, i'ment. I feel like, not that they fear them, but they have not matched up well with them in what we've seen in the regular season. I don't know that there's trepidation for SEC schools against others. Who does this help is does it help Kentucky or does it help Tennessee? And that like, I know you, dude, I know what you want to do. You know what we want to do, but we know you're not good enough to stop what we wanted.
Yeah, I had said earlier in the week that I thought Kentucky would be.
My favorite side.
It's not my favorite as the week has gone on, but it is still there because I think even more so now looking under to the total, Tennessee's defense is there, which I believe they can be. Then I do think points could be at a premium for both sides, So I would put that under. I would wait the total under more than I would aside. Now that's kind of where I've gotten to no play for me as of yet, but I would say the under one forty four and a half would be where I go. If Kentucky's out in transition and Tennessee is brutal from beyond the arc to start the game, you now get the mental gymnastics moving for Rick Barnes and that backcourp Yeah, because I think that's honestly where they're going to have to really be good guard plays going to be at a premium for both sides too. But I think defense could rule to day, and if Tennessee's got to fall back on that, they've got ways to be able to slow this thing down and be able to play at the pace that they want.
If you're listening on Serious Channel one fifty eight, or if you're watching the watch app and you don't want to hear us talk about teasers in college basketball, just plug your ears for ten seconds. But if I said to you that you did that four point tis in basketball would you rather, and I know we're gonna play a game, would you rather later with Daily Diamond? Would you rather tease it up to eight and a half or tease it down to a half point for Tennessee? And I guess what that question then implies is is there any chance that Kentucky wins the game outright? Because if so, you would much rather tease it up with the vulnerability of Tennessee losing if it teased it down.
Just out of curiosity. Where what other game would you want to go to? Because the only other thing I would I would challenge with is this, if you're not okay with the spread and you still feel Tennessee wins the game, so you moneyline parlay?
Then with what Florida and we stick with that?
To me, that's the one. If Maryland beats Florida, I'm gonna tip my cap to him, okay and said, man, you beat them, great, But that moneyline parlay, or if you wanted to get a little bit sexier with the four point t's and a two legger which would be forded down to two two and a half depending on your book. But again, there still is a two point variant that you could lose that instead of paying a little bit extra juice here and playing the money line parlay of Tennessee and Florida. I am not confident by the way Tennessee would not be part of mine. But for this exercise, that's why I think I'd rather take the eight and a half on the Kentucky side because they do obviously with a four and a half point spread, I give them a realistic shot of being able to beat Rick Barnes here. One. The pedigree has not been good for Rick Barnes in spots like this. Two. I know it's the first time for Mark Pope, but that's a coach that you've told me throughout the college basketball season you really trust I do.
I like where he's at, and I like where they're They're coming to this point of where the tournament is. Only other thing I just thought about loud the Old Miss game. Would you want to take four up and make it seven and a half?
Yeah?
Miss, because I don't see Sparty blowing out.
I don't either.
I mean again, you can get there with free throws like they did against New Mexico and the New Mexico quick.
But I could see free throws at the end, like you know, you got four seconds left, yeah, and Spartia is a two point lead and they make.
It four and game no, and then you get the meaningless three oh bucket. That's what I was saying.
If you feel like, if you feel like the shorter shots here, like if you think Michigan State's winning and you think Tennessee is winning the moneyline parlay, that just be done with it.
You know, as I'm looking at this Kentucky Tennessee game and I'm thinking about that on miss Michigan State game, and I'm going big ten SEC and with seven out of the sweet sixteen being from the SEC, and we're talking about this familiarity of knowing each other. And I did hear it floated about that the Power conferences might just say, because there's no Cinderella, like, could we get away with our own tournament? I haven't. It sounds it sounds insane to kick out the little Yeah, but there is no little guy this year. And the ratings are through the roof.
Ratings are better than they've been since what the mid nineties, So as good as they've been since the mid nineties.
Does that tell you now maybe the ratings won't we'll find out what the sweet sixteen looks like. But if there are, if they stay this way, then Jensen, could they be making the case this is what we want, This is what America actually wants.
Yeah, but this is what the SEC wanted to try to do, you know, in.
College football and say, yeah, we deserve to have three seats, like three board seats.
Because we're the SEC.
Because it means more.
You know, well it means more to them because of all the money in their own country.
I just thought of this too. Let's go on the other side.
If you were to make a moneyline parlay, or if you were to take a spread parlay on two dogs to cover, who do you like.
A moneyline parlay and two dogs to cover?
Or I'm sorry, moneyline parlay on two dogs out to win outright?
Okay, who do you like to win? Outright? I would take ole?
Miss, Yeah, I think so. I think I see right one.
I mean it's the shortest shot, yeah right, But I do like them. I know it's gone up to three and a half, so maybe get a little bit more juicier on the money line price. And I know that this is maybe sounding sacrilegious, and this is the game. We're gonna get to you anyway, boiler up.
I agree, that's right where I was going.
If there's any one seed that could really fall victim to not only circumstance but also playing a true road game, I think it's a Kooks.
And again we're talking about this kind of like you go back to those challenges that you have at the beginning of the year. In December, we have you know, I say, the ACC against a Big ten or we're seeing a lot of that play out here with these conferences. Does that weigh into the handicap of or again we've thrown the seeds out. Should we throw the conferences out and say, I get at SEC. You got seven in I understand the Big ten, there's none from the Big East, there's only one from the ACC and DO and we got the Big twelve in Houston. Like should that matter in the handicap at this point? A really no, It's become power conferences And not that they all look alike, but maybe they're not as far away as maybe people think.
I think you do factor in the SEC because of the attrition and the grind that they had to go through day in and day out, week in and week out. I mean, there's a reason why Arkansas will miss her. Here at this point, were they middle of the table. Yeah, I mean Arkansas was, you know, just getting in and then started to play really really well at the end. So I wouldn't mind an Auburn will miss if you want to take a favorite and a dog on the line, Parlay.
It's kind of funny too. You look at it, you go, well, there's only one from the ACC, but Duke and Maryland are both alive. You go, all right, Big ten, Like still, that's that reflex of these changing of the conference, even Arizona, right, Big twelve.
Because you look at Houston twelve, you're thinking, oh.
Right, well play rest in peace, pour a little bit out, but like that's what we're getting at here. So I don't know, Like when I see Duke going up to nine nine and a half against Arizona, I don't know that that's that's because the conference, I mean, the Big Big twelve is they play pretty dunk good bats.
They're the better team. They are the better, better.
Team, yep, but the conference, clearly the better conference is the Big twelve, agreed, right, So maybe battle tested a little bit, Arizona I'm getting nine to nine and a half. That's not a bad way to look at that.
They may be a first half spread for me because you know that there's going to be your urgency there and then maybe Duke pulls away at the.
End very quickly.
How much is home court for Purdue playing in Indianapols?
I think it's gonna be incredible.
And the fact that they, if everything's on time, don't tip until ten after ten Eastern time.
Come on, what time is that in Indiana?
Is it the time changing in Indianapolis nine o'clock? Either way?
Why universal the service to the one seed and that region is just blasphemy.
It's unbelievable.
They might have already played the game. I don't know with the time zone differences.
