In this hour of Cashing Out, Greg Peterson dives into NFL trends going into the Super Bowl. Plus, RotoWire's Senior Editor Jeff Erickson joins the show to share his favorite prop bets.

This is cashing out on VS in the Sportsbanning Network.

We're back.

You're not cashing out on the Sports Banning Network. It is our number three. And it's great to be joined by this man as he was a great center over at Xavier back in the day. Now you host a podcast, and this is a great podcast name called the roll Blob Pod. As we've got Kenny Freeze aboard.

Kenny.

It is great to have you board, my friend. Thank you so much, thanks for having me, Thank you.

For joining me.

Kenny and Kenny, let's talk about what we've all seen on this wild college basketball Saturday. And I was referencing this a little bit earlier, and I want to get your thoughts on it. Just what have we seen with regards to so many teams blowing leads late, which I mean obviously in college basketball, every team is looking to make a comeback, what have you. But it feels like it's been more rampant here on this Saturday and just this season in general than I can ever remember it with fifteen plus point leads not being safe at all.

Yeah, I mean today today especially, I mean you look at Baylor, they come back down twenty one to win by eleven.

I mean games like that, it seems like they happen more and more often.

Providence Saint John's, Saint John's had a giant lead and they only end up winning by two. I mean, it's just been it's been a crazy day at basketball. And you're right, this year has been been pretty wild to been pretty wild too, But these teams are just I think it's probably a product of the three point shots is becoming so much more relevant than maybe it was when I was playing, and people shooting at a much higher clip. They're able to come back into games. But I'll tell you what it makes it. It makes it a lot of fun to watch as a fan.

Yeah, but it certainly has been a lot of fun. No if fans or busts about it. When you see these teams coming back from eighteen points twenty points, being able to bury a whole bunch of threes, it makes it so interesting and just what are the characteristics that you're taking a look at in terms of teams that you think might be able to make it a deep run in March right now, Because we've been able to get about two and a half three months of data on some of these teams, and I do feel like there's becoming a little bit of a divide between those like top eight teams or so teams in college basketball and the rest of the pack.

Yeah, I mean I for me, it's honestly for me, right now, I think there's one team that's ahead of the rest of the pack.

Auburn is just Auburn is so good.

And you have Johnny Broome coming back off of the injury a couple of weeks ago and he hasn't missed a beat. I mean, he's a legitimate front runner for the Player of the Year candidate. And to me, like everybody's chasing Auburn. That's that's where I'm at. I think the Duke has a case. But right now, I'm just when I watch Auburn play, especially they play against Old Miss today and Ole Miss has one of the top thirty defense in the country and they just ran all over him. Johnny Broom had twenty points again, and he's just I mean, it's it's crazy to watch.

Yep, I'm right there with you, and I think that that's so well said. With Auburn being that clear number one team and everyone else fighting for second. Obviously Duke who knocked off Auburn earlier this season. But that said, with Duke, they were in Cameron Indoor Stadium. If they play that game on a neutral court, who knows what that happens there. But I loder if we do talk a little bit about Duke as well, because I do think that they are that clear number two team for me as of right now. Because you've seen Tennessee, Florida, those other SEC teams beat up on one of the others. I'll give a little bit of a plug to Alabama. They looked very good on Saturday as well. But that said, how do you take a look at this Duke team, a team that just has so much size and versatility that I think is going to be a very hard matchup for whoever plays him.

Yeah, I mean so obviously Cooper flag Is watching him play has been one of the more I've said this multiple times on different podcasts. He's been one of the more fun players that I've watched in college basketball in a long time. But it's kind of like that, you know, high tides rise all boats kN canoople Is. I mean, I think that he's a very good player, Don't get me wrong, but I think that having Flag is his wingman there.

It really makes his life a lot easier.

And then you look at this Duke Duke Carolina game today, and I mean, everybody knew that this was going to be a really uphill battle for North Carolina. They were going to have to get a thirty five point performance from Marj Davis, but you know, Duke wasn't gonna let that happen. But I mean, it's just watching them play today, it really did solidify it. And I'm not saying the North Carolina or World beaters. They're definitely having a down year. But when you watch them in a rivalry game like this win the way that they did, I mean, it's hard not to look at them like the solidified number two team right now.

Yeah, I'm right there with you.

I really do think that the top two is becoming more solidified with Auburn and Duke would love to be able to see a rematch in the national title to say, listen, I mean, let's call it what it is. The other teams, because I mentioned there might be a top eight, top ten, a lot of them sell their toe today as well. Kansas was one of those teams you saw Houston lose in overtime to Texas Tech. I mean, you want to take a look at Marquette. They lose outright to Yukon as well. I mean, just what if you made out of the rest of these teams, you guys, I think that we might need to go a little bit past that top eight and just go to the top two and everyone else, because it felt like it was a really bad day for teams like three through twelve in college basketball on Saturday.

Yeah, I mean the Iowa State game in particular, that game, I mean, it's the perfect combination, the perfect plan that you want to have is Kansas State to go in there.

They shoot fifty percent from.

Three, they win the rebounding battle, they made more free throws, they were more physical. I mean, I don't think that you can put together a better plan than that to go in and beat the number three team in the country. And just like you said, I mean you this three through twelve, it's uh, there's a lot of parody, man, it's it's and it's just like the with the SEC. I mean, there's so many good teams in the SEC that these teams are kind of cannibalizing each other, and uh, I mean it makes Like I said before, it makes for really good basketball as a fan, but it's really tough as a coach and a team and a player to go into these games with any sort of confidence because you never know really who's like every single game there's another superman, there's another guy that's playing really well, a team that puts together an incredible performance. Like you look at Tennessee today. They didn't shoot the ball well again. You know, they went what was eleven four four five against Kentucky last last game. Then they come in today they shoot like five for twenty seven something like that, which Tennessee's generally a pretty good three point shooting team. But they came out and they smacked Florida in the mouth in the beginning of the game. They played defense, they were physical, they were all over them and Florida, and Florida couldn't handle it.

Yeah.

Absolutely, I think that the three ball and just shooting variants in general always something to be mindful of in college basketball. As Kenny Freeze, he's a great center, used to play over at Xavier.

Now he does a great job with the.

Role blob pod along with doing some great workover at Field of sixty eight he's showing me right here on cashing out on Visa D Sports Bank Network and Kenny. This is something else I noticed as well. We did see a few teams that maybe had some issues early on in the season. Because you mentioned Kansas State, you mentioned USC The common aality that I see with those two teams are our teams that brought in a lot of transfers. They utilize a lot of nil they weren't able to find their jelling early. Just how important is it to be mindful of some of these teams that they might take a little bit of time to be able to find that footing, because it feels like every single or musclemen team is like that. A lot of these teams are transfers. They don't necessarily play their best forards beginning part of the season. But I feel like these are some teams with shall we say both ceilings but or should we say both floors, but also high ceilings, And I feel like some of these scenes with those transfers are starting to reach their ceiling now that they've gotten some seasoning.

Yeah for sure.

I mean I think that you you bring up two good examples, but you know, coming as a Xavier guy, This is the second year in a row now that Xavier's brought in eight nine transfers that basically completely new teams from the year before. So I've been able to kind of see it firsthand because you know, obviously I'm watching every one of their games pretty pretty intently and then getting to go down. I was actually at the Xavier Yukon game last week, So I mean, I think that they're another perfect example of that those guys are coming together, and you know, they had a they didn't beat Creighton. Creton's a tough place to play, you know, especially especially out their place. But I think that in the NIL era, that's just going to become part of the norm. There's so much turnover these guys that come in and they're not you know, I don't want to talk bad about guys, but I think that there's just not a lot of like that loyalty to a school and like playing for something bigger than yourself. And then it takes a lot it takes a season or half a season to get these guys back in there and playing for their teammates and not just playing for you know, a check or playing for next year wherever they're going to be. So I think that there's absolutely some truth to that that as the season goes on, you're going to start to see these teams kind of gel together and play him play better.

Yep. I think that that's so very well said.

And I do think that just that time that it takes to be able to gel because even if these guys are only there for the check what have you, Even if they're there just because they wanted to play with like a teammate or something like that, just naturally with the game of basketball. You even see it with the Olympic team, it does take them a few games to be able to hit their peak stride as well. So I think that that's so very well said there. And how about if we do talk a little bit about the Biggies as well, because I do think that that's such a fascinating conference because there's a lot of conferences where there's a lot of brutality. And I would say in terms of the biggest chasm between the halves and a half us, obviously Duke and everyone else in the ACC might be the top of it, but it does feel like in the Big East there's quite a bit of that as well. And your team and Xavier. There's sort of that team that's in the middle, while you do have these teams like Saint John's, Marquette, Yukon that'll be able rise up, while you do have the bottom feeder team, shall we say, with regards to your like stuff, I would throw in there to Paul though they've looked a little bit better seeing all teams like this and just what are you making of the landscape of the Big East for this season.

Well, I think you bring up to Paul and that's another team. They didn't have one guy on scholarship coming and coming into the summer, every single person transferred out, their coach left. They bring in a whole new group of guys, and I think that their team is you know, they're only they're one in ten in the conference this year, but they're as a program, their world's better than they were last year. So I think that they I think, you know, I don't know if it's going to be that the Paul in five years is going to be competing for Biggiest Championships, but you can definitely see that program trending upward. As far as Xavier goes, like I said, they have I mean Ryan Conwell is a guy that can they can shoot the lights out of the ball. Dante Maddox is the guy that can shoot the lights out of the ball. Whether or not those things are happening on a certain night. Who's going to step up Zach Fremantle, as you know, he's a walking double double. So you know they they're able to beat pretty much anybody on any given night. And then you have the three four at the top, Saint John's, Marquette, Creighton, Yukon. Now obviously Yukon's not having as good of a season as they have in the past two, but you know, with McNeely out it really changes the look of their team. Saint John's is so impressed, Like they're very impressive to me because of the way that they play defense and not just the way that they do it, but they do without fouling. I tweeted something out earlier. I mean that style of play, you can end up having thirty fouls in a game like pretty easily, but they're able to get through fifteen minutes of the game and have I think they had thirteen fouls at the fifteen minute mark of the second half, So I'm I mean, they're they're super impressive. They're pretty stunted offensively, but when they're able to hit shots. I think Kadari Richmond is that dude when he wants to score, he scores. It's like sometimes he's just like, you know, I'm just gonna let somebody else do it. But when he gets his head down and he gets to the basket, that mid range jumper, like he's really good. And then obviously Marquette is one of those weird teams. Man, they just got they just got beat by Yukon. They you know, I think Butler took him to overtime, but then they've also come out and just beat the brakes off.

It's a couple of teams, so it's, you.

Know, it's kind of hard to see where you're gonna get with them each week too.

Absolutely, Kenny was great to have you aboard, just talk some college basketball.

With you and really appreciate it. Thank you.

Yeah, thanks for having me Man, great to.

Be able to talk with Kenny.

Coming home.

Next, let's take a look at some Super Bowl props right here on cashing Out on Visa The Sports by you know.

One, Welcome back to catching out here on Visan the Sports Benning Network.

We're back here on cashing out on Decent the Sports Banking Network. Was great to be joined by Kenny Freeze. He was a great center back in the day over at Xavier, a guy that made many different NCAA tournaments and was great to be able to talk some college basketball with him. And we have to go from the hardwood onto talking about the super Bowl, because we're now a week away. For those of you guys that are out there on the East Coast, we are officially a week away. So this is very very nice, to say the least, and we've got to try to get ourselves some props in line. I was talking about it in the previous hour of the fact that you don't want to be necessarily going all in with the guards of these props and everything like that. Like obviously you want to be able to have some sweats on the game, and the biggest thing to do right now is find some sweats that actually have a chance to be able to cash perhaps be able to find a little bit.

Of plus money.

Just because something is twenty to five or twenty five to one on the board or something like that doesn't mean that it should be a slam dunk player or anything like that. But this is a menu that is going to be unlike any other menu that you're gonna see because you obviously have your normal like receiver props. You're gonna have your like yes no one a half field goals for like Harrison buckkerk guys like that and everything like that. So you get your basic props, but obviously you get some shall we say, exotic props. Now, I personally have found a lot of success with this. We have yet to see these posts it and these are gonna be props that you're not gonna be seeing untell probably like forty eight seventy two hours before the big game. Sometimes you'll get them a little bit earlier. But it's the crossboard props because I'm sure that many of you guys like myself are going to be inundated with a lot of Super Bowl coverage over the next week or so, and rightfully so, because it's such a big game and everything like that. But I'm one of those people. I'd love to have daily sweats and everything like that. And in a lot of these props you're gonna be get like, oh more, what is going to be having more like the amount of goals for the Boston Bruins if they're playing on a Sunday, they'll just pick like whoever is playing like that hockey game for Sunday, or the amount of sacks for the Philadelphia Eagles, the amount of sacks for the Kansait Chiefs. Like I still remember a few years ago, was back when the Patriots had and the Rams were playing in the Super Bowl. I had the over on the amount of prop or on the amount of sex in the Rams game, over the amount of goals that were scored by the Washington Capitals in their game. The Washington Capitols scored zero goals in the game, so that cash literally in the first ten minutes.

And some of those are just very great.

So those you take a look at them and you feel like a complete moron that you bet money on that sort of a crossboard prop. But you know what, that's some of the fun of it. And I know that the guys in the back they're doing an absolutely tremendous job. Everyone behind the scenes here they do such a tough notch job with regards to this network, and they've got us the coin toss results over the last ten years. So I would advise you to do this as well. Don't lay minus one ten on a coin toss, for the love of pete. If there's gonna be some books that get about even money, and that's all well and good. If you're gonna be laying minus one ten on the coin toss, you just find your buddy. It might be picking the opposite of you. If you're a tails never fails guy, find a friend that's betting heads. You guys, just bet twenty dollars amongst one another. Don't be swallowed up by the minus one ten juice of the coin toss. So I will say that, but you know what, there's that out there, and then I cash on this personally a few years ago. Now, this is one of those bets where I made it once. This was in my amateur days. I probably would not be placing this bet once again here in twenty twenty five, but it was my first year out of your lovely Las Vegas. It was my first time really betting the Super Bowl personally, because pretty much all my bets before then to be able to make it through and at one point pay my rent out there in Nashville, Tennessee, when I was doing weekend shows, and I was also pretty much selling ads and stuff like that. I needed ut Arlington to be able to cover a lot of spreads. Unfortunately that year they did. Thank you Scott Cross. He got me through a month of rent out there in Nashville, Tennessee back in the day. But I said first Super Bowl that I really bet how here in lovely Las Vegas. You did have just the gatory color out there, and my goodness, gracious, that was just absolutely interesting to say the leastays with the gatorycolor, it's like, yeah, you know what I should bet this? I bet on yellow and it did turn out to be yellow. And we will get back to the cinnamon at first. Things first, for those of you guys that are looking to bet on the super Bowl and you're looking a bit smarter, you're able to say fifty nine dollars with a vsent Pro subscription over at visa dot com slash subscribe and you utilize the promo code of cash that will give you fifty nine dollars off for everything that we do, all of our best bests, all the guides that we've got. We've got a super Bowl guide that's out right now. I'm sure that I'll be contributing to our March Madness Guide that'll be out in about a month and a half as well twenty four to seven access to the network and everything that we do with regards to our video stream and so much more. VSA dot com slash subscribe for that. But I just rudely got intruded because apparently we've got a massive trade that just went down in the NBA. You go to the old Twitter of shams. It used to be wooaj bombs. I don't know what we call them now, sham wows or something like that. I think that that could be becoming a thing. But that said, with Shams, he tweets this out right now that we have got ourselves a big time trade. The Lakers are getting Luka Doncic in the trade. I don't know what to say about this. The Dallas Mavericks are trading Luka Doncic, Max Kibler, and Markith Morris to the Los Angeles Lakers for Anthony Davis, Max Christy and a twenty twenty nine first round pick. And apparently this deal includes the Utah Jazz in some former capacity. Apparently the Utah Jazz are getting Jalen ud Chaffino. I like Jaleno Chaffino. That's a good pickup and a pair of twenty twenty five fifth or second round picks. I don't know what to say about this, Like this is just completely earth shattering right here, what we've just seen with regards to this trade. You now have Luka donjj on the Lakers. You know, have Anthony Davis on the Mavericks. This is a mid sea move that I wonder how these teams are going to be looking moving forward, because for the Lakers, it is important that they get a little bit younger, because I mean, we say it every single year, and I think that we might actually mean it now. At some point, Lebron James is gonna stop playing basketball. I feel like people might have said that five years ago, three years ago, one year ago, but I think that definitely Lebron James will probably be stop playing basketball within the next three years. I think is a reasonable expectation. If he plays untell he's like Tom Brady agent. I mean, that's just credit to him. But that said, at some point, the wheels are going to fall off at some point. But I mean, Luka donc He's able to do a little bit of everything. How is he going to coexist with Lebron James though, because now you have to assume that this becomes Luka Doncic's team, How does he coexist with Lebron James out there on the court.

Because it was.

A little bit easier with Anthony Davis'll be able to put him into the fold just because with Anthony Davis he's a little bit more of a big man, albeit a versatile big man, but it's a little bit more of a big man. And now you got to look a Doncic who's able to do a little bit of everything. He's able to be the point forward for the team, and for the LA Lakers, what they really need around Lebron James if they're looking to win right now, is three point shooting.

And I'm very very befuddled.

By this, to say the least, because this is not one of those trades that were rumored, Like obviously there was a lot of rumors with reguards oh Jimmy Butler, or where is he going to be going and everything like that. Like I know that the Phoenix Suns and teams like that were in on Jimmy Butler and everything like that, But that was something that I was expected. I can't say that I saw this one coming. I don't know who the real winners are going to be in the strait. I don't know who the losers are going to be in this trait because this is so foreign that I have no idea what to expect out of both of these teams moving forward. And I wish I had a better answer for you guys right now, but in no universe. And I think that I was going to go into the v sent studios today have in our number two and a half essentially be like, oh yeah, look at Dodges is now on the LA Lakers. Like I'm speechless, Like this is a sort of trade where I don't know who necessarily gets the winning end of this, Like I just don't know how this trade works. Like maybe this is me being overreactionary. Maybe this is the way that I just look at things personally. I don't know if either of these teams got re markably better here for twenty twenty five, because I just don't know what to expect out of both of these teams, because it changes the complete fabric of both of these teams. Now, I think that can work out for the Mavericks because obviously with the Mavericks, they've been playing a little bit more through the posts over the last few seasons, and I do think that there's quite a bit of upside there now with the Mavericks. Now you're able to have Kyrie Irving and now you're able to have mister Anthony Davis. I think that that could be able to work. It's going to take them a little bit of time to be able to get things all ironed out and everything like that, but that's something that I legitimately do think is going to be able to work out for the Dallas Mavericks. And for the Dallas Mavericks this season, it's been a little bit up down all around. It's been a little bit hair brain, but I do think that somehow, some way, they're all find that to work. And I actually really do like what Derek Lively has been able to bring to the table as well for them ever since they drafted him. So that's a little bit of a sidebar there, but he's been dealing with that injury, so that's probably a big reason why they did make this move as well, because Lively has been one of their better defensive players for the team. Sounds like he's probably gonna be out for at the very least a month. So that's been a little bit bad for this scene. But I do take a look at the Dallas Mavericks. I think that it can work for them. I just don't know how Luka Doncic and Lebron James play out there on the floor. Like maybe it's just me, but I have question marks. It just feels like a passing of the torch trade right now for the LA Lakers. And if that's not exactly what they're doing, then good on them, because at some point they do realize that perhaps maybe they knew needed to move on from Lebron James at some point, not necessarily move on from Lebron James in terms of training them, but in terms of Lebron James is going to retire at some point and at some point they need to have an option number two, and now they do have that option. But very fascinating to say the least. We'll have a little bit more reaction a bit later on in then. But first things first, are you the first Are you the tite of trader that wants to drop ten thousand dollars or more on an NFL line get the best price in the market.

To catching out here on vs in the Sportsbanning Network.

Right here on Cashing Out, I'm vcent D Sports Banking Network. Great to be joined by this man on the progressive guest line as we've got Jeff Erics in a board. He does such great workover at Rota Wire. He's their senior editor. He does a great job of hosting the Rota Wire Fantasy Sports Today show on Sirius XM as well, and he's joining me here and Jeff, it's great to have you a board.

Thank you my pleasure.

Greg, thanks for being having me on.

Thank you for joining me and Jeff. We got you on to talk a little bit about the super Bowl, and we're certainly going to do that. But first things first, this is just such big news that we cannot ignore it. The Elie Lakers have traded for Luke Adncis, And I just want to get your reaction because I just had my thoughts on the flip side of things that I was talking about how this makes no sense. What's moever for the Lakers, For the Mavericks, it's a little bit confusing, but I can see how it can work for them down low. But I just don't understand the Lakers rationale, unless if they're looking to pretty much look at life without Lebron James in the next few years.

You know, my first reaction was, this, is this a fake sham's account or has shams been hacked?

Because no, there were there less.

There's no undercurrent, there was no rumors, there's no rumbling like, oh hey, Anthony Davis might get dealt.

No, none of that.

You know he got hurt earlier this week, but you know he didn't expect that at all. You're just like, how can they get some shooters around Lebron and Anthony Davis. No, we're just going to get rid of Davis instead. I don't I don't understand it whatsoever.

Yep, I'm right there with you. Just one of those trades where it's like, wow, that actually just happened. I was here when this actually just went down, and I was just completely speechless. So that's about the best reaction that we've got there. We can give a little bit more on the Super Bowl though, that makes a little bit more sense that the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles are here. And first things first, before we dive in on any sort of the props, just how do you take a look at this game and how much you utilize the results from the Super Bowl two years ago to be able to prognosticate what's going to be happening.

This year.

There's some things that are commonalities, but so many things have changed. I mean, the coordinators have changed. For the Eagles, for instance, they were completely different. They have Barkley for crying out loud, that's a completely different thing. They didn't have the running game that they had in the past. You know, Jalen Carter is this huge, monstrous force now in the middle of the defensive line that they didn't have two years ago. So many things have changed, and it's one of those situations where I feel like the Eagles are probably the better team. They're probably better situated on the line. But I mean betting against Mahomes is a fool's errand I mean I feel like I'm a fool for rushing in. But it's one of those things where you just you don't want to you want to find like, Okay, the numbers are telling me one thing, everything else is telling me something else.

Yeah, I'm right there with you.

I've been the same way with the Guards and Kanca Chiefs because the metrics aren't necessarily they're like they are for the Philadelphia Eagles, and the Eagles have done such a good job of be able revamp that defense the way that they have just been operating in general has been so has been so tremendous for them. But at the same time too, you've got that coach and quarterback combination that time and time again they find a way they'd be able to get the job done. And I know that you're very much a numbers guy and I am as well, But at what point do you need to just use a little bit of human reaction with it as well, Because I'm right there with you. I'm torn because the numbers tell me the Eagles, but I just don't want to bet against Patrick Malomes in a big game.

Yeah.

Well, I'm just gonna probably go with my feeling and go with the Eagles.

But man, it's just if this was Week four, I'd sit back.

And watch the game with a you know, a big bucket of popcorn and via nice stay away. But because it's the Super Bowl, I gotta have something on it, you know, and maybe I'll focus more on the player props instead.

Yeah.

Absolutely, And I know that you do have a little bit of action with regards to the player props. As Jeff Erickson, he does a great job over I wrote a wire He's going to be right here on cashing out on Visa d Sports Banking Network and just adds up. We do have a new app available here on Visa dot com that allows you to be able to watch all of our show at twenty four to seven, listen live to our audio, get all the replace. It's in the Visa It's in the Apple Store. It's also in the Google Play Store as well. Just download the VS and Watch app. You're able to get everything that we do over here at vsin so the nice clean one. Stop shopping there. And how about if we do take a look at this prop as well, because I know that there is an eagle that you're thinking is going to have a nice day on Sunday next Sunday, and that'd be Dallas Goddard. So take me through what you're expecting from him, what are you all about with them? And just sort of the outlook for his Super Bowl.

Yeah, and we guest hosted for John Hanson on Monday for player Points and we gave out Dallas Goddard at forty seven and a half. Of course you can't get it at forty seven and a half now it's up to fifty three and a half in some outlets there, But I think I'm still there for that, and I still like the four and a half receptions. He has been their leading receiver in the playoffs, even in Week eighteen, but keep in mind they were benching. They rested their wide receivers in that game. But ever since coming back from injury, he has had this nice connection, and I think especially against the Chiefs, who have been notoriously poor about defending tight end, I think this is a really good setup for Goddar there, and I'm not surprised he got bet up. I'm probably willing to go up to about fifty five and a half with him. I wanted to ask you a question here because you've been doing this longer than I have, focusing on these props especially, but you know, I like the early line movement there, But you know we're going to be we got a whole nother week of this, and we got you know, all these whales coming into Vegas betting a lot of money, and you're probably gonna see even more movement. How do you like react to the when the line moves so extensively like it has.

I think that you just have to have a little bit of a number in mind firsthand, because I think that that's the biggest thing, because I do this a lot in college basketball. Like I'll plays a team as a minus five favorite, they might open up as a minus three. You want to be taking it right away if you think that that number is going to move, because if it gets to like minus five and a half minus six, that's just the point of an other return. Hey, sometimes it gets seemed up so high that you actually do end up taking the other side as well if you see really stark movement, which you can see in some of these Super Bowl props as well. Because as we know, the public, they always like to be able to bet on the overs, and that's part of something that I do utilize as well, because you know that the public, they're going to be betting for yards, they're going to be betting for any time touchdowns. If you think that a guy is not going to be able to find the end zone, if you think that a guy is going to be going under their prop, I'm one of those guys that I'd like to take some unders. I like to wait un till about twenty four forty eight hours before the kick of the Super Bowl to bet those.

Yeah, better early on overs, bet later on unders that makes sense, especially there. You know, it's to me, it's you know, it's gratifying when your guy gets bet up as long as you got in on it when it was nice and low there. But we're seeing a lot of those egle ones move, I mean a couple of chiefs ones that have moved too, Like I really like this Xavier Worthy four and a half rushing yards that's up to five and a half and six and a half in many places now, Probably still like it, but I probably wouldn't go much beyond seven though, And that's the thing. You're going to get seven and a half eight and a half and one bad run will kind of wipe that one out.

Yeah, absolutely, because you know that he's only getting a few cracks at it. So that's so very well said. And there is an under that you actually do like. It could be a number of that perhaps we get a little bit of a better juice on when it's all said and done as well. You're looking at DeAndre Hopkins under So take me through this and just the receiving core in general of the Chiefs, because I think that that might be one of the hardest things to really take a look at with regards to the Super Bowl. So who's going to be getting the ball outside Travis Kelsey.

Yeah, And this isn't a fun one. I mean betting, Like you said, you know, public likes to bet overs. I mean, I probably don't like betting unders. It's not fun because you're never in the clear. All it takes is one play late to scree you on that. But you know, I like the under on receiving yards and receptions for DeAndre Hopkins one and a half and I've seen it anywhere for I think around twelve and a half is the receiving yards last I saw on Hopkins there. He's had eleven and fifteen snaps in the two playoff games. Ju Ju Smith Schuster is getting more snaps. Keep in mind, the Bills lost Christian Bangford early in this game.

The Chiefs reacted. They were smart.

They were attacking the you know, going to the wide receivers more than the tight ends. That's why Kelsey and Greg did very little in that AFC Championship game. And despite all that, Hopkins did very little. You know, and against a team that's pretty good at defending outside receivers like Hopkins. I don't really like you know his chances for making it. Of course, one play could torpedo everything we want to do about him, but I would have a little sprinkle going on the under on Hopkins, both receptions and yards.

I think that that's a smart way of looking at it. And who do you think outside of Travis Kelcey might be a guy that might be able burst a little bit for the Chiefs because I think that the biggest question mark I have is Hollywood Brown, because he feels like one of those guys that could have a really big game where he could be right there with DeAndre Hopkins and do nothing.

Yeah, I could see, yeah, and that's one probably be a stay away from me, but I could see the scenario where that works out. I would play the tight ends. I play Kelsey and I play Gray. I think you know, you saw, you know in the NFC Championship game how zach Ertz had tons of short little catches there. So I like the receptions for Kelsey especially there. I think you try to attack Philly in the middle a little bit more. You don't try to attack one of the outside receivers hard to get enough time for those long patterns to work. So that's why I probably would go that angle.

I think that that's a very smart way of going about it. And then this is a little bit more of a philosophical question. As we know, last time these two teams met up in the Super Bowl, both of these teams put up thirty five plus points. I think that that might be a little bit far fetched. But do you think that this has the feel of a game that's going to be seeing a lot of scoring and a lot of overs or do you think that this might be the opposite of the previous Super Bowl and we see a lot of unders.

Now it's a little bit different because I think both teams are better defensively than they were a couple of years ago, and certainly, you know, Billy likes to run the ball a lot more than they did back then, and I think because of that, you see fewer possessions, fewer plays, so that might lead to fewer points total. That's the one thing that by the way, that total has gone down a little bit and everything else seems to be pushing up. So I think that's one of the things that I that people have been betting that under a little bit there. So I again, it's not like what this is like going to plant my flag on the under on this one here, but I have a small lean towards the under.

Yeah, I think that this is going to be a fun game. We've seen that Chiefs defense be so rock solid and the Eagles have pretty much been metrically the number one defense in the NFL. Well, and Jeff, you do such a great job breaking down so many things with reguards will player prop perspective, and I know you do a great job on the baseball front as well.

Always do appreciate it. Thank you so much, my pleasure.

Thanks for having me.

Greg.

Great to be able to get Jeff ericson aboard. He does such great workover I wrote a wire and was great to be able to just chat with him a little bit about what we're going to be seeing in the super Bowl, because it is going to be a fun game. We're going to be seeing it a week from now, and I think that what we said with him was so important. If you'd like the overs with regards to some of these player props, you want to be betting them early. If you're taking a look at more of these hunders, which I personally will be taking a look at quite a few of these hunders. You got some time, you can chill out, you can bet some oh, I don't know, college basketball within the next few days, says, We've got ourselves a nice late on Sunday.

How about if we do dive in on.

Some of those games next right here on cash on VSA, the Sports Banking Network.

Welcome back to.

Catching Out here on VSON, the Sports Manning Network.

We're back here on Cashing Out on VISA, the Sports Banking Network. It's not often that you get a blockbuster trade in the NBA right around about midnight PM Eastern time, but when you do, it's always great when you've got John von Tobel on your side. John does such a great job here at VSON, whether that be his hosting work late nights on VS in primetime, whether that be our NBA senior analyst, and so much more. He does a little bit of everything around here, and we got him on the phone right now. John always you appreciate it, my friend, Thank.

You so much.

What's going on?

Man?

My night of college hoops viewing is ruined by the NBA apparently, even though I still don't believe that this is real.

Yeah, this is just absolutely insane And just what was your first reaction when you did see the news of this, Because I thought it's like man did shoves like get hacked or something like that. Because I didn't think that this was a possibility, that this sort of trade was possible.

Yeah, we should obviously let her outs know that, yes, the Dallas Mavericks have apparently traded Luka Doncic to Los Angeles Lakers. I am absolutely stunned that this is actually a real thing here, That's really what it is. Like, I'm having hard time contemplating what exactly this is the full deal Luka doncicch Maxi Kliba, markif Morris go to the Lakers, Anthony Davis, Max Christy and at twenty twenty nine, like Lakers first go to the Mavericks. Jazz get Jalen Hitschafino a Clipper second in a Mavericks second.

I just think it's shocking.

Look, I also think Greg, you know, we'll talk about the betting ramifications of this. I think it's very clear that the thing that the Mavericks are starting to do with getting this message out there is it's bs they're starting to you know, urinate on us and tell us.

It's raining.

Tim McMahon with the report that the MAVs had major concerns about moving forward with Luka Doncic due to his constant condition issues and the looming commitment of another Supermax contract extension this summer. The conditioning issues got you to the NBA Finals. No, you don't do this. The Pelicans are holding onto Zion Williamson still for crying out loud and he hasn't sniffed at NBA Finals, So I think there's a little bit more to this. The fact that they reached out to the Lakers is obviously a red flag that something's going on. But this is one of the more stunning NBA trades that we're going to remember, I think, in the history of the league.

Yep, no question about it.

I had no point, and I think that I was coming in here and I am thinking, I guess that Anthony Davis might be on the Dallas Mavericks by the time this show ends, and right now, how do you take a look at things for both sides, Because honestly, when I take a look at it, it was stunning that the Dallas Mavericks were the one that reached out to your point, But I think that in terms of less change with regards the roster, and I honestly goes to the Mavericks a little bit more because I feel like with the Mavericks areable insert Anthony Davis, you have obviously Kyrie Irving running the point and everything like that. I feel like it's a pretty conventional roster. Meanwhile, I just don't know how the on James and Luka Doncic work out there on the floor together.

Yeah, so I think I'll start with Dallas first, and we should be clear like what you got back for Luka Doncic, I think is not what you should get back for Luka Doncic. But to your point, Greg, I would agree with their The conventional basketball fit I think does work in Dallas, where you're talking about Kyrie Irving now with the ball in his hands as the lead volume guy at guard. You have Anthony Davis that can play next to your centers that you have on this roster, right Gafford.

And Lively, So that does work.

Like he can play with another center, he has the ability of strips the floor, he can't perimeter jumper, so that really works together and it gives you a really strong defensive front court. You still have some pretty decent wing depth.

We can have PJ.

Washington out there as well, so like you're not in the worst position possible, Like this is still a team that went healthy and ready to go. Should be a team that makes it into the playoffs and could be a pain in the ass for anybody to play in the NBA postseason for the Lakers. I agree with your trepidation about how this works in theory. There's things you can do with this roster though, Like, for example, if you're going to put out there Lebron James with Luka Doncic and Austin Reeves and Dalton Connect and then fill in center with whatever you want, well, you've got a couple of shooters out there that can be really comfortable playing around him. You know, you do wonder, hey, who takes the primary ball roll? Right, Who's going to play off ball?

More?

Is it Lebron is an Anthony Day or somebod Is it Luka Doncic. I think I'd rather have Luka Doncic be the catch and shoot threat as opposed to Lebron.

But the problem is he's going.

To be very stationary catch and shoot threat, like he's not going to be running off screens and doing stuff off ball. So I don't know exactly how this works in the grand scheme of things like in this year. You know, I think you alluded to this when you and I were talking. Look, big picture, Lakers have Luka Doncic to build around. In theory, then that's going to be great four, five, six, seven, eight, ten years from now. But this iteration of what the Lakers are I the fit on the court is going to be fascinating to see how he and Lebron will play with each other, and who takes that off ball presence a little bit more, and who's going to be on the ball.

Yeah, Ben, that is exactly why I was referencing about twenty five thirty minutes.

Guy, I feel like for.

The Lakers, this is a great move if you're looking for life after Lebron James, whether that be two years from now, three years from now, what have you? Now you've got Lukadans should be able to build around. But at the same time, too, we are seeing the odds to be able to win the title move for both of these teams as well.

No chakra there.

MAVs have went from twenty to one, and they were initially going down to twenty five to one. A lot of places have moved this to now thirty to one, and the Lakers go from fifty to one now down to twenty to one to win the title.

What are your thoughts there?

Because with the Lakers, I just don't see how the team is able to win the title, and now they're being priced much like the Memphis Grizzlies, which I disagree with.

Yeah, I mean, so here's the thing we have to keep in mind. Now, this could be something that we should say right now, folks. Lebron James could be on the move, right, because that's the other part of this that we haven't really thought of.

Of.

What are the Lakers are just blowing this thing up because we're talking about be thought that this doesn't really fit Lebron to the Warriors is still a thing that could totally happen here Greg before the trade deadline. So that should be kept in mind that when the smoke clear, maybe it's just Luka Doncic by himself on the Los Angeles Lakers with whatever that roster is, and Lebron is all of a sudden on the Golden State Warriors, which would be absolutely mind blowing if that actually happens. But that is an actual thing that could happen as we move forward here, So keep that in mind. If you're somebody out there right now that's rushing to bet the Los Angeles Lakers because they have both Luka Dantic and Lebron James. In theory, it's not really a great fit. Now Lebron with Golden State is a great fit because Curry can playoff ball, Lebron can run the point, Draymond can play next to him. So like, those are things that really would make a lot of sense. And let's be honest about what the Lakers are at this point right now. You know, before they traded Anthony Davis, they were a playing team. Right now, I think there's still a fringe play in team. And then you have to be realistic with yourself, and I think this is part of the Lakers being realistic, and if that means now flipping Lebron, that should be something. So I just want to point that out before we start talking about the futures. Having said that, if these are the teams as we move forward, then I would rather have a piece of the Mavericks than I would the Lakers if you're telling me pick a future here, because, like we said, on the court, the Mavericks roster at least make sense, no matter what you want to say about the pack that you got, that's at least a roster and a lineup that I really like that could work together on the court, Lebron and Luca with whatever the pieces that are left for the Lakers just doesn't really make sense. And of course, futures are reflection of liability. So you know that because the Lakers got Luka Doncic and they have that pretty logo that everybody's used to it. Everybody loves that they're going to go and bet hand or fist that they want to they want the Lakers.

So I think those odds are going to get shortened.

I would assume that if you give some truth serum to some odds makers that really have their finger on the pulse of the NBA, they would say the odds should be probably longer than what they're adjusting to right now.

Yeah, and I think that that's so well said by you. The fact that there might be still moves coming as we've got about a week or so until the NBA trade deadline, has hit, so we'll dive into that in a second. But first things first, if you want a little bit more of myself and John von Tobel, if you pick up the vs In Super Bowl Betting Guide, you get both of our picks with regards to the Super Bowl winner the Super Bowl MVP in there this guide. It is jam packed with everything that you need to be able to bet the big game, expert prop strategies and tips to bo find market value, along with final score predictions from all of us here at VSON. We're able to get it for as little as nine dollars in ninety nine cents to be able to reserve your copy of this guy over at VSA dot com slash subscribe, that is vsi n dot com slash subscribe. And you just alluded to it, John, the fact that we might be seeing Lebron James on the move and what are some of the other moves that you are taking a look at, because obviously the Jimmy Butler trade news has been really consuming us the last few weeks, but it feels like this could be a big giant blockbuster of a trade deadline because well it already has been with the move that we just saw about forty five or so minutes ago.

I mean, here's the thing, Greg, it wasn't shaping up to be a big one, right, Like this was supposed to be a trade deadline where maybe the biggest name was going to be like a Cam Johnson who is out there in Brooklyn and he's been injured, but like is a good three indie wing player that could make any team better, like a Cleveland Cavaliers, whatever it may be. Like this was supposed to be one where the fringe guys were gonna move that maybe Bradley Beal and Jimmy Butler were just going to switch teams.

So we'll see what happens.

I just this is this is insane, Like this should be the biggest move that we've seen.

But who knows.

I mean, after what's going on right now, I don't know what to expect anymore. So I would think that it quiets down after this. I apparently I'm getting text right now that Brian win Horses on ESPN saying that Lebron wants to play with Luka Doncic very badly. So we'll see if maybe that is actually the case. Again, I look, they're both very good basketball players, right, And we've had this conversation before. If you remember a couple of years ago, people were asking how like Chris Paul and James Harden would work together. They made it to a Western Conference finals. Like, great players know how to play basketball, and so I assume they're going to make it work. But man, this is absolutely insane, and you can't really make a strong argument that should Lebron get chipped off the Golden State, that he's in a worse situation. I think that Golden State team with Lebron would probably be in the same spot as this Lakers team, maybe even a little bit better.

And we've got about forty five seconds left. Is Golden State, if you're looking at future size right now the most valuatile team because of what they may slash may not do in the next few days.

Yeah.

Absolutely, And look there a team that's desperate that I have their win total over. They were cruising for that and all of a sudden they hit a really they just the Anthony Melton gets hurt, they have to trade them away. They hit rock bottom. Draymond and Johnathan Minga been injured. Kaminga is not happy there. They could ship off some guys. Jimmy Butler's also a name that's been in there, so outside of Lebron, Yes, that is a team that could go and get Jimmy Butler as well, so you would keep an eye on that because they can be very volatile.

Absolutely, John, we do appreciate it.

You took the call at the last second and you did a great job of learning your insight. Thank you so much, my friend, you got it both. Thanks for having It's great to be able to get John aboard and White. Literally we gave him a call like a few minutes ago and he agreed to come on. So that was absolutely tremendous.
