John and Mark share their hopes for the TREV community and some facts about the project they hope will help people understand the scope of the multi-decade development. Some things they hope to bring to the north side of Taos are affordable housing, sustainable agriculture, a pharmacy, a retirement community, healthcare, and a hotel. Join Taos News reporter Liam Easley as he talks with Taos Municipal Schools new superintendent Dr. Antonio Layton. Dr. Layton had most recently served as executive director of human resources for Edcouch-Elsa Independent School District in Edinburg, Texas. Dr. Layton shares with Liam some creative strategies he has for getting Taos students back in the classroom. "We're going to be doing a comeback tour," he says, "trying to emphasize that being in school is the best place for our kids. And part of that is for me to rebuild the confidence in our community and our parents that Taos Municipal Schools is the place to be." Dr. Layton hopes to hire two math interventionists to help support teachers and also get kids' math scores up. Dr. Layton also discusses the recent hire of Emy DeHerrera as the principal of Taos High School and why he thinks she's a great fit for the job.

Join Taos News' Tempo editor Lynne Robinson as she chats with Krystina “Kiki” Shakti Siebenaler about her new documentary, मेरी रामरानी (My RamRani). The documentary focuses on Kiki's mother, Dr. Yvette Claire Rosser and her journey as an academic and spiritual leader. In 1970 while she was in India, Yvette met Maharaj-ji, Guru Neem Karoli Baba who gave her the name RamRani, “God Queen". Lynne and Kiki discuss how that meeting changed her mother's life. Kiki hopes this documentary continues her mother's work of educating people about Hinduism.

This week's guest is James Duran, Forest Service Supervisor for the Carson National Forest. James is from Cuba, NM and has spent his career in forestry and land management all over New Mexico and the West. Geoffrey and James talk about "priority landscapes" in the Enchanted Circle.These places require active management to prevent extreme wildfires. They also chat about the new Forest Mayordomo project, which is modeled after New Mexico's acequia system.
