In this Podcast we discover :

What is homelessness and the way we talk about it ?
The 3 levels of homelessness:

- Primary homelessness is experienced by people without conventional accommodation (e.g. sleeping rough or in improvised dwellings);

- Secondary homelessness is experienced by people who frequently move from one temporary shelter to another (e.g. emergency accommodation, youth refugees, & couch surfing)

- Tertiary homelessness is experienced by people staying in accommodation that falls below minimum community standards (e.g. boarding housing and caravan parks).

We also discuss how many people are homeless in Australia and in particular South Australia.

Where do people who are homeless go?

Why are they homeless?

What are the most common reasons people find themselves facing homelessness?

What effect homelessness has on Mental Health?

Chris is such an inspirational man with a wealth of knowledge in any many facets of life and I was so privileged to interview him as well as visit him at Hutt St Centre!
