Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to the simple things. Have you noticed that we as beings have the tendency to complicate things in life? Whether it be our emotions, our relationships, our dreams and etc. Why do we get in our own way? I can’t help but to think of Lauryn Hill because “it’s like it could all be so simple, but [we] rather make it hard.” Why? Perhaps it’s fear, lack of trust and love that we have for ourselves? See, when you possess confidence, it reflects the love you have for yourself. When you trust the process of life, there is an understanding that everything happens for a reason and for the betterment of you. Therefore there is nothing to fear. Now in order to get to this realm of possibility, you must free yourself!

It’s time to step out of the confinement that we’ve placed ourselves in. What does your “prison” look like? Is it insecurity and self-doubt? Is it not pursuing your wildest dreams because people have told you you would never make it? Is it staying in a dead-end relationship because it’s all that you know? Is it a fear of being who you truly are because you don’t want to be judged? Tell me, what does it look like for you?

The best advice I could give is by echoing the sentiments of R&B crooner Miguel in his hit single, “Simple Things” and “just be a tough act to follow, you know a free spirit, with a wild heart,” and there is no telling how far you will go. See, it’s just that simple.
