Jack called Richard to discuss his early musical beginnings, how the early 60's British records impacted him, his first bands as a teenager, the formation of Alive And Kicking, how the band came to be discovered by Mickie Most, the recording and success of songs like "Some Girls" and "Lay Your Love on Me", the group's later work, and his work today with Jam Mountain Music.
“Mickie (most) came along and said I got a song that's a hit record -he said "I want you to listen to the demo and tell me what you think" and the song was "Lay Your Love on Me". We listened to the demo and thought "there is no way we could record that song" - an ultra pop song like that because we were not that kind of band" - Richard Gower on this episode of vinyl vibes talking about how the group's hit "Lay Your Love On Me" came to be.
