Our Vermilion County Hero for July is Lara Danzl, Environmental Education Supervisor for the Vermilion County Conservation District.

This month's Vermilion County Heroes are Nicole & Walter Gowan.  They stepped up and used their emergency training in a time of crisis when an infant became unresponsive.

Our Vermilion County Hero for May 2023 is Michael Franey. Michael is a DHS Spanish & AVID teacher, and coaches Freshman football and Middle School track.

Our Vermilion County Hero for April 2023 is Jessica Nemecz.  She is the founder of Two Roads Wellness Clinic in Danville. She was nominated by Stephanie Bower, who works at the clinic.  She told us the Jessica is a terrific leader and is actively working to make Danville a better place. Her business Two Roads Wellness Clinic focuses on providing mental health services and wellness services to people in the Danville community and surrounding communities. She is humble and kind and a wonderful person who has impacted the lives of not only clients but employee’s and the community at large! She is a hero!

Our Vermilion County Hero for November, 2022 is Connor Lomax of Danville. He is a rookie officer on the Danville Police Department.  He works third shift, attends community events, and isn't afraid to bond with children in the community while on duty. Our Vermilion County Hero for October 2022 is Jeannie Stream of Rossville, IL. She is an EMT, business owner, and mother of 4. The Vermilion County Hero for July is Conner McLeod, an EMT for Georgetown Ambulance Service.  He also serves as PR officer and has gone above and beyond in showing support for the community with various activities including and open house, blood drive, high school engagements and community education opportunities. This month's Vermilion County Hero is Melissa Spencer, a RN at Carle in Danville.  She was nominated by Amanda Hardwick, who talks about Melissa's dedication to her patients before self. Melissa talks about how it was her mother that guided her towards a career in nursing which she has worked in for 32 years.

The Vermilion County Hero of the Month for May 2022 is Rory Lester, Chief of the Kickapoo Fire Protection District.  He was nominated by volunteer fire fighter Bryan Weir, who credits Rory with getting him back as a volunteer. Rory was a Danville Fire Fighter for 20 years, but says that like a Marine, once you're a fire fighter, you're always a fire fighter, so he now serves as Chief of the Kickapoo Fire Protection District on Warrington Avenue west of Danville.

This month's Vermilion County Hero is North Ridge Middle School Resource Officer Joshua Long.  He was nominated by Functional Life Skills Teacher, Whitney Stevens.
