In this episode of Verdict with Ted Cruz, Senator Ted Cruz breaks down the stunning 2026 election results, analyze the economic and political forces that fueled voter anger, discuss the constituencies Republicans lost, and outline what Cruz believes conservatives must do to rebuild support among working-class voters, young people, rural communities, evangelicals, and Hispanics. They also discuss the policy battles they expect to emerge in Texas and Washington over taxes, energy, AI investment, border security, and the direction of the country during the next two years.

The 2026 midterm elections delivered what Senator Ted Cruz calls a political “blue tsunami,” reshaping the balance of power in Washington and turning Texas blue for the first time in decades. After sweeping Democratic victories across the country, Cruz examines what happened, why Republican voters abandoned GOP candidates, and what the results could mean for the future of Texas and the nation. In a special edition of the podcast, Cruz offers his candid assessment of a devastating election cycle that saw Republicans lose the House, the Senate, multiple traditionally conservative states, and every statewide race in Texas. He argues the outcome was driven less by turnout and more by widespread voter frustration over affordability, cost of living pressures, economic insecurity, and dissatisfaction with Republican leadership.
