Today I want to have a conversation around fake it till you make it. When I was a young fella, having just finished a teaching degree, I remember being given a few valuable pieces of advice that really resonated with me. But the paramount one, the one I recall foremost – imparted by many - was, ‘just remember, fake it till you make it!’ Well-meaning, I’m sure, but I must admit, even back then, I felt it was a rather dubious piece of advice to give a young person starting out in their career. And today, I would go even further and say, it’s not just dubious, it could be downright dangerous! Why? Listen to find out.
