Defence challenges interpretation of “I see you” in Zuma-Sambudla trial.

A retired language practitioner has testified in the unrest-related trial of former president Jacob Zuma's daughter in the Durban High Court that the phrase 'we see you' used in social media posts at that time, would have to refer to an activity. Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla is being charged with incitement to commit violence and incitement to commit terrorism relating to 38 Tweets within 36 hours. It would start with 'we see you' in response to a scene from the unrest, followed by 'Amandla', and 'Free Jacob Zuma'. The former president was in prison for contempt of court at the time. Under examination by the state Doctor Ellie Khumalo- Simelane said the phrase 'we see you' in isiZulu would make no sense unless it refers to an activity.
