The Telkom Towers were purchased in 2016 for nearly R700-million to serve as the headquarters for the South African Police Service in Pretoria. Speaking to evidence leader Lerato Vilakazi, Vuma says only R10 million was spent on the work done on the building

Western Cape police have launched a murder and attempted murder investigation following a fatal shooting incident in Rocklands, Mitchells Plain, on Tuesday afternoon. This was after three people were shot and fatally wounded. Police say the deceased have been identified as a 39-year-old woman, a 29-year-old man, and a 36-year-old man. A 15-year-old girl was among those who were shot during the incident; she sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Preliminary reports indicate that an unknown grey vehicle stopped in front of the residence. Three unidentified males, whose faces were concealed with balaclavas, allegedly entered the house and opened fire on the occupants before fleeing the scene. Chief Electoral Officer IEC Sy Mamabolo has announced a special voter registration weekend will be on 20 and 21 June 2026. Mamabolo says this is designed to make it easier for eligible South Africans to register or update their details closer to where they ordinarily reside. Mamabolo says once the voting date has been announced, voters must vote at the voting station where they are registered.
