The family of the late Bacelio Alphonso, who passed away on December 30, 2024, while incarcerated at Leeuwkop Prison in Johannesburg, is seeking justice  to uncover the circumstances surrounding his death. In a statement the family says Authorities informed the family the following day, but key details, including the exact time of death, remain unclear. Family members, says a source within the prison, allege Alphonso was beaten to death by officials who claimed he attacked them after allegedly smoking crystal meth.
