"We are not a hostile institution"- Ekurhuleni Spokesperson, Zweli Dlamini says city will continue with dismissal of 389 police officers

The South African Municipal Workers' Union (SAMWU) has called on the City of Ekurhuleni to discontinue disciplinary action against nearly 400 metropolitan police officers over an unprotected strike. A dispute over salary adjustments and over-time compensation sparked the strike which took place in March. The city says it has issued pre-dismissal notices to 389 officers for misconduct.
