The United Democratic Front is set to mark 40 years since its formation back in August the 20th 1983. The mass movement and anti-apartheid body was a collection of a united front of churches, civic associations, trade unions, student organisations and sports bodies. Some of the key figures behind this mass movement include Reverend Alan Boesak, the late Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Albertina Sisulu, Oscar Mpetha, and Helen Joseph.  Bongiwe Zwane spoke to  former UDF leader, Mkhuseli Jack.

The drama could be positioned in a township, a suburb, or a village to explore and speak on challenges ordinary citizens go through. At the end of it all, they triumph, and these stories aim to inform, educate, and entertain the public.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has detected two polio virus strains in wastewater samples from a treatment plant in Cape Town, Western Cape. The detection is part of the NICD's routine environmental and wastewater testing aimed at proactive, population-wide disease tracking. A group of the 457 foreign nationals verified by Home Affairs in Durban yesterday are insisting on staying in Durban's CBD, citing safety fears. The group spent the night outside the Durban Refugee Reception Centre. Wivine Bahati from the Democratic Republic of Congo says many remain afraid to return to their communities following recent immigration tensions in Durban. She spoke to Sakina Kamwendo.
