The body of an elderly woman that was trapped between rocks and debris at Umshwati Local Municipality in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands has been retrieved. This follows heavy rainfall last night which resulted in damage to various properties and the local infrastructure. Two more people remain missing and are believed to have been swept away by the floods. Search and Rescue teams had to use a drone in locating the woman's body while heavy machinery assisted in the removal of debris around a riverbank where the body was trapped.
