Belgium has become the latest country to announce plans to recognise Palestinian statehood at this month's United Nations General Assembly. Britain, France, Australia and Canada have already made similar announcements, with the Israeli government describing the recognition of a Palestinian state as a win for Hamas. Belgium's Foreign Minister, Maxim Prevot says he hopes this declaration will further pave the way for a two-state solution, where a Palestinian state could coexist alongside Israel.
