The application to disclose the investigation diary in the former National Assembly Speaker, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula corruption case has been dismissed. Presiding Judge Mokhine Mosopa said that Mapisa-Nqakula failed to prove her case in the Pretoria High Court. Mapisa-Nqakula's defense lawyers argued that the disclosure of section C of the docket could lead to her exoneration from the corruption case.  She is facing 12 charges of corruption and one of money laundering during her tenure as Defense Minister. The Pretoria High Court has dismissed  former parliament speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula’s bid to access the investigation diary, ruling she failed to prove her case.

The community of Eldorado Park, in Johannesburg, has called for government to intervene in what locals have called the triple threat of rampant drug abuse, crime and unemployment. The community is currently engaging the top brass of national police, in a ministerial imbizo that aims to shine a light on crime prevention in the area. The officials, led by Deputy Minister, Cassel Mathale, have convened at a local community centre, where they aim to create a platform for effective interaction between police leadership and communities. Al Ahly has been granted full-capacity approval for the match. Egyptian authorities have capped attendance at CAF matches to a maximum of 30,000 fans.  But Al Ahly appealed to their Ministry of Sport after their officials emphasised the significance of the match and the potential impact of an electrifying crowd on the outcome. The author of two books on the life and death of former ANC President, Chief Albert Luthuli is expected to continue his testimony today, at the Pietermaritzburg High Court. During his testimony yesterday, Jabulani Mzaliya described Luthuli as a unifier, adding that the late leader wore many hats, including those of a Christian, a politician , a farmer and a father. The academic is testifying in the inquest into the circumstances surrounding Luthuli's death in July 1967, reportedly after he was struck by a goods train. .
