KwaZulu-Natal police say a 22-year-old suspect who had been arrested for attempted murder was shot and killed after attacking officers inside the holding cells at Ntuzuma police station on Monday morning. Police say the suspect overpowered two officers, took keys to the main door and assaulted them before grabbing a firearm from responding officers and opening fire. Tactical teams later intervened and fatally wounded him. Two officers sustained minor injuries during the scuffle. Authorities say the situation was contained after several tense minutes.
