South African Police Service and Boarder Management Control guards have been deployed to temporarily assist at the Immigration Services of the Beitbridge Border Post in Musina in Limpopo. This comes as public service employees affiliated to the Public Servants Association downed tools on Thursday following the collapse of wage talks. A Malawian immigrant who had been processed at the Musina repatriation centre and enroute to the Beitbridge border post in Musina, Limpopo, has died. According to information, the immigrant collapsed and died in the bus after complaining of ill health. The undocumented immigrants are being processed outside the border post prior to their repatriation. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC reporter Rudzani Tshivhase.

One year after KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi made explosive allegations of corruption, criminal infiltration within law enforcement and political interference in policing. Mkhwanazi alleged that Police Minister Senzo Mchunu unlawfully disbanded the Political Killings Task Team and ordered the seizure of its case dockets. The allegations prompted President Cyril Ramaphosa to establish the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry, chaired by retired Constitutional Court Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga. Since commencing its work, the commission has heard testimony from about 80 witnesses, examining allegations of corruption and criminal networks within law enforcement agencies.SABC reporter Sibahle Motha fied this report,  Sakina Kamwendo further spoke to Independent security analyst Azaniah Mnisi.

Analyst says Madlanga evidence supports Mkhwanazi corruption claims.

Police watchdog, IPID, believes it has a strong case against the two accused arrested in connection with the alleged 2023 theft of precious metals and stones worth just under15-million rand. Ekurhuleni Metro Police officer Adrian MacKenzie and businessman Etienne van der Walt were arrested by IPID this weekend. The pair appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court earlier today, where their case was postponed to the 16th of July for a bail application. The arrests follow testimony at the Madlanga Commission, where Witness K alleged that she, suspended EMPD Deputy Chief Julius Mkhwanazi, and four others raided an apartment in Killarney, Johannesburg and removed the precious metals.
