View descriptionShare

The latest data released by Statistics South Africa shows inflation slowed slightly in April. Stats SA says the main drivers behind the headline inflation in April were housing and utilities, miscellaneous goods and services, food and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as transport. This, as salaries data tracked in BankservAfrica's Take-home Pay Index, ticked lower in April 2024. Bongiwe Zwane spoke to Independent Economist, Elize Kruger.
