A level 5 weather alert, issued by the South African Weather Service, remains in force in KwaZulu-Natal. This as heavy downpours have left a trail of destruction in Margate where at least five people have died in Sunday night's floods. According to the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (Cogta), about eight people have been rescued, while more than six vehicles have been recovered after flood water swept through the town.
