The election of the Speaker, Deputy and the President are critical to the formation of the National Assembly, while the election of the President is critical to ensure the formation of a government. A quorum of 134 out of the 400 members of the National Assembly is required to elect the Speaker of parliament, Deputy or President. The election of these officials is done through a secret ballot only, if there are other candidates contesting the positions.
