The Special Investigating Unit has confirmed to parliament's  Standing Committee on Public Accounts that the agency has obtained the more than 1000-page-long so-called intelligence report which allegedly implicates high-ranking politicians in alleged criminal cartels operating at  Eskom. During his presentation earlier today, Head of the Special Investigating Unit , Advocate Lekgoa Mothibi told SCOPA that the unit is currently going through the report and would take the appropriate action in due course.

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has detected two polio virus strains in wastewater samples from a treatment plant in Cape Town, Western Cape. The detection is part of the NICD's routine environmental and wastewater testing aimed at proactive, population-wide disease tracking. The group spent the night outside the Durban Refugee Reception Centre. Wivine Bahati from the Democratic Republic of Congo says many remain afraid to return to their communities following recent immigration tensions in Durban. She spoke to Sakina Kamwendo.
