Sentencing proceedings get underway in Joshlin Smith human trafficking matter

View descriptionShare

A small group of women has held a prayer gathering outside the venue for the sitting on the Joshlin Smith matter, in Saldanah Bay, in the Western Cape province. Sentencing procedures are underway at a local community hall after the 6-year-old's mother, Kelly, her co-accused Jacquen Appollis and Steveno Van Rhyn were convicted on charges of child trafficking. Joshlin went missing from her Middlepos home in February last year. The women are calling for a maximum sentence for the accused and justice for Joshlin. They say their children are not safe. They are also demanding Kelly to tell the whole world what she did to the little girl. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to SABC Reporter, Andile Mbanjwa
