One person has lost his life in the Garden Route storms that swept the district over the last two days. Police have confirmed that they've found the body of a 40-year-old male, who was swept away in floodwaters on Wednesday night in Waboomskraal, outside George in the Western Cape.

Head of Garden Route Disaster Management, Gerhard Otto, warns residents against unsafe flooded crossings. 

President Cyril Ramaphosa says HIV/AIDS has left a destruction and scars in many families across the country and the globe. Ramaphosa was speaking at the official launch of the HIV prevention drug- Lenacapavir in Secunda, Mpumalanga. He says 360 public health care centers in the country's provinces will be administering the drug to save lives. Ramaphosa has urged young people to continue using other preventative measures available beyond the new drug.
