The OR Tambo District Chamber of Business is calling for a joint effort between business and government in the Eastern Cape, to craft a strategy to ensure there are more police deployed to secure businesses in the area. This as some businesses in Mthatha are closing down because of syndicates alleged to be demanding protection fees from all businesses of foreign origin. As a result, a number of filling stations have closed their doors. Sakina Kamwendo spoke to Secretary of the OR Tambo District Chamber of Business and Secretary of the KSD Chamber of Business, Dr. Andile Nontso.
