Pundits say Fifa World Cup opener high-stakes encounter

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos says South Africans will be proud of their national team at this years' FIFA World Cup. South Africa will play in the opening match of the tournament against co-hosts Mexico at nine o'clock tonight at Mexico City Stadium. Broos says their aim is to become the first senior team to progress to the second round of the tournament. But history is stacked against South Africa having failed to win any of the opening games in three previous tournaments. Bongiwe Zwane spoke to Senior SABC Sports Reporter, Vincent Sitsula
