Public Protector faults Cape Town over service delivery failures. 

SACP has reaffirmed its commitment of improving the lives of the poor and working class in the country. The party's General-Secretary Solly Mapaila says when the party is voted into power after the up-coming local government elections, municipalities will be accountable to the people. Mapaila addressed the party's Red October Siyaqoba Rally in Thulamahashe, Bushbuckridge in Mpumalanga. Motsebi wa Monareng reports.

The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania president, Mzwanele Nyhontso, says the party is moving to obtain an outright majority in the Mnquma Local Municipality, when voters head to the polls in the local government elections. Nyhontso was speaking during the announcement of Nkosi Phathuxolo Tyali as  mayoral candidate for the PAC in the Mnquma Municipality in the Eastern Cape. Nkosi Tyali is a local traditional leader in Ward 26. Nyhontso also promised residents that they would prioritise rural development. Nomzwanele Mngoma reports...

ANC President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has decried the political killings that have rocked some parts of the country recently. Last week, four ANC members were killed in Katlehong, east of Johannesburg and two in Umgababa in Kwa Zulu-Natal. They were allegedly killed by members of rival parties. Speaking during his party's campaign trail in Soweto on Sunday, President Ramaphosa said political parties must implore on their members to avoid political violence.
